Lingering Passion: Mr. Sutton Wants to be Your Male Lead!-Chapter 42: Found Out
Who is being investigated, Silas Sutton didn’t say in front of Stella Grant.
He turned around and walked out with his phone.
Stella Grant looked at Silas Sutton’s back through the floor-to-ceiling window, fingers resting lightly on her lap, feeling uneasy.
Silas Sutton made a phone call for over ten minutes, during which a servant came over to ask Stella Grant what she would like for breakfast.
Stella Grant politely replied with a smile, "No need, Aunt, I’ll eat when I get back."
The servant, a woman in her fifties, smiled kindly, "You should eat a little, otherwise President Sutton will be unhappy."
Stella Grant’s smile was slightly awkward, "Anything is fine, I’m not picky."
The servant said, "Alright, I’ll go prepare it."
Shortly after the servant left, Silas Sutton returned from outside, walked briskly to the sofa and sat down, lit a cigarette, leaned over, and flicked the ash into the ashtray on the coffee table, "Did you bring the contract?"
Stella Grant knew which contract Silas Sutton was referring to, and replied with a lifted lip, "No, the contract is at the company."
Silas Sutton nodded, "Later, I’ll ride in your car, we’ll go to Omni to get the contract, and then go to Sutton Group to sign it."
Regarding business matters, Stella Grant didn’t dare to be careless, "Okay, President Sutton."
Silas Sutton said, "You sit for a while, I’ll go change clothes."
After speaking, Silas Sutton stubbed out the half-smoked cigarette in the ashtray.
As Silas Sutton went upstairs, Stella Grant instinctively gave him another look.
She wasn’t sure if it was because Silas Sutton was in great shape, or if that drink he had last night worked wonders, but he showed no signs of illness now.
While Stella Grant was thinking, Silas Sutton suddenly stopped and turned back, "Stella."
Stella Grant instinctively responded, "Hmm?"
Silas Sutton frowned and asked, "Did I do anything to you last night?"
Stella Grant stiffened for a second, tried to stay calm, yet her face and ears betrayed her by turning red, "No."
Noticing Stella Grant’s expression, Silas Sutton let out a light snort, seemingly guessing she was lying, said nothing, and turned to go upstairs.
Stella Grant, "..."
During breakfast, Stella Grant noticed there were quite a few dishes from Brynnfield on the table.
She wondered if it was intentional or just a coincidence.
Regardless, Stella Grant appreciated the gesture and took a few more bites.
The servant standing beside couldn’t help but smile.
After the meal, Silas Sutton asked Stella Grant to get the car ready, while he himself drank another glass of milk.
Once Stella Grant left, Silas Sutton looked up at the servant standing by the table and said, "Aunt Adler, it’s too obvious."
Aunt Adler, who had taken care of Silas Sutton since he was a child, had no fear and smiled warmly, "She looks even prettier than when she was studying."
Silas Sutton lowered his head to drink milk, a faint, almost undetectable smile flashed in his eyes, "Hmm."
Aunt Adler knew about Stella Grant.
The matter of Silas Sutton sponsoring Stella Grant had caused a big stir in The Sutton Family, and no one in the household didn’t know about it.
Mr. Sutton had investigated Stella Grant’s background thoroughly, even having photos.
Aunt Adler had seen her twice, with no particular impression, just that the girl in the photos seemed excessively pretty.
At first, The Sutton Family all thought Silas Sutton, being young, wanted to hide her away, but later realized he apparently had no such plans.
After finishing the glass of milk, Silas Sutton walked to the living room, picked up his suit jacket, and draped it over his arm as he headed out the door.
It was midsummer now, and even early in the morning, the heat was suffocating.
Silas Sutton walked to the front passenger door, Stella Grant turned to look at him, her eyes showing slight surprise.
Silas Sutton raised an eyebrow, "Boyfriend’s designated seat?"
Stella Grant smiled, "No, I just thought President Sutton would sit in the back."
After all, bosses usually choose the back seat.
Silas Sutton’s lips curled slightly, he leaned in, got into the car, turned to toss his suit jacket into the back seat, adjusted the seat space, and was just about to buckle the seatbelt when the phone in his pocket chimed twice.
Silas Sutton took out his phone, looked down, and when he saw the message on the screen, raised his eyebrows slightly, turned to Stella Grant, "Do you know where Flynn Shepherd lives?"
Silas Sutton asked abruptly, and Stella Grant was confused, "What?"
Silas Sutton handed her the phone in his hand, "The person who sent you threatening messages has been found, it’s Flynn Shepherd."
Upon hearing this, Stella Grant lowered her eyes, and on Silas Sutton’s screen were a few concise words: Found, Flynn Shepherd.
