Chapter 68: Chapter 67: With an Uncle, There’s Hope

Nathan Foster said, in this final month, if she puts in some effort, there’s still time for a last-minute rescue.

So, during the day when South Grant attended classes, she was particularly focused.

She wasn’t sure if it was the teachers’ teaching methods that were off, or if her foundation was too weak, but she always only half understood.

Listening to the teachers’ explanations, she found it was not as fast as learning from the book on her own.

Later, South Grant came to a conclusion.

At this school, all the good teachers had been transferred to the rocket class; for students like them with average grades, the teachers didn’t pay much attention in class.

But now, it was too late for her to try to get into the rocket class.

Finally, enduring until school was over, South Grant waited for Nathan Foster to send someone to pick her up.

Nathan Foster promised to hire a top tutor for her to salvage her grades in the last month.

This was the first time she looked forward to Nathan Foster’s arrival.

Soon, she spotted the familiar military Hummer with white and red lettering.

After getting into the car, only Ivan Keller was there; Nathan Foster was nowhere to be seen.

The car quickly drove off, but it wasn’t heading towards the hospital; it was going towards the military district.

"Aren’t we going to the hospital?"

"No," Ivan Keller said and then fell silent.

South Grant couldn’t help but roll her eyes, thinking that those who associate with Nathan Foster all end up expressionless.

On the way to the military district, South Grant and the driver, Ivan Keller, didn’t exchange a single word.

When they arrived at the military base, Ivan Keller took South Grant to face Nathan Foster.

Upon entering, South Grant looked around but didn’t see any tutor, so she looked at Nathan Foster in confusion.

"Where’s the tutor you hired for me?"

Nathan Foster didn’t speak, but pulled out a few papers from a drawer and spread them on the table, saying to South Grant,

"First, complete these papers; let me see what level you’re at."

South Grant walked over and took the papers Nathan Foster prepared, glancing through them.

At that moment, her expression was like this: ﹋o﹋

"You’re really my dearest uncle!"

To her, the papers had only four types of questions.

The first type of fill-in-the-blank was called "completely clueless."

The second type of multiple-choice was called "they all look right."

The third type of calculation was called "doing it while crying."

The fourth type of word problem was called "collapse while attempting." 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Despite this, South Grant forced herself to complete all four papers.

Chinese and English weren’t as bad, as she had decent speaking skills in her past life, so high school English wasn’t particularly difficult for her.

Chinese was her strong suit; only math was like a living hell for her.

After she finished, Nathan Foster took a look at the completed papers.

He took out the math paper and placed it in front of South Grant.

Picking out a few fill-in-the-blank questions, he asked why she came up with those answers?

South Grant could only shrug helplessly:

"I guessed."

"Your guesses are quite accurate," Nathan Foster looked at her mildly.

"Of course, I have a trick," South Grant said proudly.

"Oh, a trick?" Nathan Foster raised an eyebrow slightly.

"If three long and one short, choose the short one; if three short and one long, choose the long one. Two long and two short, choose B; for mixed lengths, C is unbeatable. Mainly guess and supplement with copying, a combination of guessing and copying guarantees a pass," South Grant said, then glanced at Nathan Foster and added weakly, "This time, I probably didn’t pass because I was alone and couldn’t copy others’ answers."

Nathan Foster: "..."

South Grant: "So, am I beyond hope?"

Nathan Foster collected the papers, "Who said you had no uncle?"

South Grant’s eyes lit up, "So, there’s still hope for me?"

"Yes, there’s an uncle, and where there’s an uncle, there’s hope."
