Life Of A Nobody - as a Villain-Chapter 335 glimpse of past - 1
Chapter 335 glimpse of past - 1
?Three years ago
"So this is the academy huh." The 15 year old Rio stood at the large gates of the academy watching as the name of Zenith made a shadow in sunlight covering the ground.
"This is gonna be fun." He thought looking around with a smile at the crowd of students rushing past him.
After years of staying at home and living with family, he had forgot all about his past and any sadness for that matter.
He was happy, truly happy.
No worries about the plot, protagonist or any prophecies - everything in his life was going just the way he wanted - smooth.
It all felt like a dream that he wished could last forever.
And he felt grateful for the chance of his reincarnation, wholeheartedly. So he wanted to make the most out of it. Live every moment to make it best.
'School life, feels like a lifetime ago.' He thought and couldn't help but chuckle as he remembered the days back on earth.
"You finally came?" The familiar voice of Bernhardt came to his ears, followed by a big hand over his shoulder, almost pinching his neck.
"I thought lady Artemis would just knock you out and lock you up, seeing how late you were." Bernhardt said, pulling him along towards the dormitory building, while chatting and checking out girls all the way.
"We should've gone and taken my uniforms and shit. Now I gotta walk all the way back and collect them later." Rio said watching as he entered the room and found a bald guy arranging his stuff.
Bernhardt and he were roompartners, his father (Agnes) had already arranged it so. But seeing a new guy present there already, Rio couldn't help but feel curious.
"Who's that?" He asked.
"That is our room partner, Pandya." Bernhardt replied.
"That's his name?" Rio raised an eyebrow hearing this unfamiliar unusual name for a monk from Neisah.
"No lol." Bernhardt chuckled hearing his question and explained. "I don't know his name since he's practicing some weird silent zen and doesn't speak at all. Plus I wasn't all that interested in knowing, so I just gave him a new one."
"Idiot." Rio said and walked ahead to meet his room partner. After all, they were going to be living together for the next 6 months at least till exam rankings separates them.
"Hello, I'm Rio. Your new room partner." Rio said and glanced at his name batch placed on the table.
"I'm Demir Mallys" Rio looked up and read the words being written in a golden hue in front of him like magic.
"So you really do practice the talk no jutsu huh." He couldn't help but joke seeing the closed mouth of the young monk, hidden behind a white mask.
His figure as round as a ball that could roll down the stairs in circle shape without stopping if you just push it once. With a chain of beads in his hands and on his neck.
"Do you like _ never talk? Or are there some exceptions?" he asked curiously.
"Only for the prayers of the great God Buddha."
'Man talking to him is hard work huh.' Rio said in his heart, reading the fancy letters forming in the air again.
"Well_ I'll see you around." Rio said and turned around, leaving, since as Bernhardt said conversation to this guy was useless.
'Mallys huh, the plotline related to Darkened Buddha should be from his family then. Interesting.' He thought in his mind, as he made a mental note to check his notes and read all about this family's details and plotline later again tonight.
[Yes, as I mentioned before. Since the system had disappeared Rio made several notebooks recording the events of the novel, and all the stuff he could remember and guess, just so he doesn't forget them over the years.]
Leaving his thoughts back Rio frowned as the scent of heavy perfume hit his nose, almost giving him a headache in just a few breaths.
"Where are you going?" he asked as he saw Bernhardt getting ready in front of the mirror. Fixing his hair, putting on an extra ring or two.
"We. We are going to get your uniform." Bernhardt replied.
"Then what are you doing?" Rio asked.
"Getting ready. Cause after collecting your stuff, we are going on a tour around the academy." Bernhardt said and started dragging him away. f(r)eewebn(o)vel.com
"Can't we just do that tomorrow. I'm tired as hell." Rio said honestly while feeling he really shouldn't have sparred with his father yesterday, or ate so much of his mom's cooking this morning, before traveling through the teleportation gates.
His body was urhhhh.
But Bernhardt being Bernhardt just ignored his words and dragged him away.
… . …
"Man, you sure are famous?" Bernhardt said as he looked at his new classmates and nearby staff looking at Rio and trying to talk to him happily every now and then. "If I knew all this, I would've tried harder in the entrance exams too."
Rio smiled and patted him on the shoulder "Wouldn't change a thing. You can't beat me, remember."
"Oh yeah, just wait and see, I'll take the first rank sooner or later." Bernhardt said in determination.
"Keep dreaming bitch, you ain't getting anything." Rio said, zapping the poor prince with just enough electricity through his hand that had his hair stand on arms.
"You_" Bernhardt shouted as he turned around after he instinctively moved away earlier.
He waved his hand, coating it in electricity just like Rio's to give him a taste of the same medicine, but as he increased his speed to hit him, he failed to notice the changes happening on the ground.
The moment he raised his foot, a black hand made out of his shadow grabbed his other leg and pulled him back, causing him to lose his balance and stumble forward.
"Fuck" He managed to shout noticing Rio waving his hand at him with a smirk on his stupidly handsome face.
But Bernhardt wasn't a fool either. Giving the same smirk back to Rio, he channeled his mana, causing blue sparks of thunder to appear on his feet, as his figure disappeared from the place instantly. His heightened speed made everything else slower in his eyes, thus giving him enough time to survive falling face first on the ground.
Rio raised an eyebrow as he didn't expect this guy to move so fast that even he couldn't catch his movements.
'Looks like the Royal legacy is doing him quite a few favors.' He thought, remembering the gift Bernhardt inherited a few months ago, something which was meant for Alfred in the novel, of course.
– Arghhhh -
But just as Rio was thinking all this, a loud scream broke his focus. Turning around in the direction of noise he saw his dear friend Bernhardt lying there on the ground.
Looks like he did fell face first somewhere.
"Get up, you idiot."
A voice came from there, and only then did Rio notice a girl lying below Bernhardt.
'Guess this guy on speed run bumped into her huh.' Rio thought and shook his head and started walking towards them, but stopped as he heard the sound of a loud slap that sent Bernhardt rolling down the ground, until he stopped just near his feet again.
"Ooooh, that oughta hurt." Rio said, looking at his dear friend near his feet, still not in his senses as he just stood up touching his cheek with a lost look and cheeky smile, watching as the girl whom he collided with tried to stand up with the help of her other friend.
"Bro, you okay?" Rio said, watching Bernhardt still staring at the girl. "That slap didn't break your brain, did it?" he whispered slowly as he turned his head to look at this guy's right cheek with the five finger printed skin.
"It wasn't that hard. She went easy." Bernhardt said, smiling as his eyes still fixed on her.
"Bruh I heard the sound, that was literally the type of slap that wanted to knock your teeth out." Rio joked.
But Bernhardt ignored him and walked towards the girl instead.
Watching him going to her with a stupid smile on his face, Rio's teasing expression finally changed and turned serious.
In the novel, this guy lacked attention and thus loved Becca, the only one who gave him that.
But now with Rio's help the attention issue was never a problem for our poor bastard prince.
'So don't tell me this idiot villain got some new weird kink and thus fell in love with the one who slapped him' Rio thought and smiled in his heart.
