Chapter 52: The Lumina Space

The last time Elias had been here, the vast power that managed the Status screen of every Siphon had been inside this space and had been reshaping it after it had been transformed by the goddess and the Commander’s powers.

He had been thrown out of the space to complete his assimilation with the Divine Fragment, and it was only after seeing his new Title that Elias decided to check the state of this space, which he decided to call the Lumina Space.

What drew his attention more than anything was the massive, perfectly circular chasms that his pools had become. Staring at them, Elias felt as if he was looking deep into the sky on a cloudless day, knowing that he could never see the end of the sky.

Shaking himself from the enchanting sight of seeing a hundred chasms that seemed to lead into infinity, Elias realised that he had been unknowingly floating into one of them.

A bit panicked, Elias sent his Ageless Echo flying back. He did not know the danger that might arise if he were to fall into one of them; perhaps he would be stuck falling forever. This Ageless Echo may not be affected by a normal lifespan, and if he were to be stuck inside his own Lumina Pool for eternity, he would surely be the laughing stock of the entirety of Trion for all generations to come.

Still, it was a bit amusing and alarming that his own abilities had the capability to hurt him in a way that no one else might be able to.

Free from the allure of his seemingly infinite, but empty, oceans of Lumina, Elias was finally able to appreciate the changes that had taken place inside his Lumina Space.

And the first change was, well, he he thought he now had a moon or a sealed sun in this space, it was a bit confusing.

Above him, dominating a tenth of the sky, was a massive stone object, perfectly spherical like a moon, but there were cracks all over the surface, and in some of those cracks he could see a red glow as if a volcano was sealed inside it.

Upon looking at this object, Elias felt his connection with it, and he gaped like a fool, "Is that my Elder Talent?"

He did not know how long he stared at the physical representation of his Talent before he decided that he wanted to touch it.

Elias launched his wisp body to the sky, and he vanished from sight. His speed was so great that he stopped and observed his wisp form, noticing that it had evolved as well.

He still had the shape of a tongue of fire, but he was bigger, about the size of a washbasin, and now he burned with a purple flame, but at the center of this flame was a blinding golden glow that Elias instinctively grasped as his Sovereign Fate.

Making a few bob in the air with his Ageless Echo body, Elias noted that the growth of his Agility also affected the Wisp, but it seemed not to be constrained by any physical limitation, as in the few seconds of travel, Elias found himself hundreds of miles in the air, and when he looked down, his astonishment increased.

"Is this what it would feel like to be an Angel or a god?"

Below him were his one hundred oceans of Lumina, and from hundreds of miles up in the air, they resembled massive bluish gold moons, and for a moment, Elias was confused about where up or down was, as his perspective had seemed to shift, and the Oceans of Lumina now existed above him, and his Elder Talent was below.

He closed his eyes and tried to take slow inhales, knowing that this sign was a warning. He was not strong enough to explore his Lumina Space without risking madness.

Opening his eyes, he began to ascend/descend until he hovered once more near his Oceans of Lumina, and he looked around for what drew him into this space in the first place, and he located it... the Pillar of Sorrow.

The Pillar had planted itself opposite his Lumina Oceans, and that was why he had not noticed it at first. Flying over towards it, Elias began to note with astonishment that it seemed as if he was not getting closer to it, no matter how fast he was moving. After a while, he stopped trying to come closer to this pillar.

He did not know whether it had grown truly massive and was far away, or if this space was messing with his consciousness. Elias felt a sense of loss at the moment, as if he was losing who he was.

Was this the price of gaining so much power so quickly?

Knowing that he was wasting time dwelling on the unknown, Elias pulled himself away from the Lumina Space. He would explore that place slowly when he had more information. First, he should finish understanding his Status Screen; there might be more answers there that give him a sense of his current state.

Leaving his Ageless Echo behind, Elias’s consciousness transitioned back into his flesh. It was a strange sensation to be going back and forth between two entirely different states, where in one, he felt lighter than air, and in the other, he could feel the weight of his bones and the cloak of his flesh. Elais preferred this body to the Ageless Echo, perhaps because he felt he could better understand and use it than the former.

Glancing at his next Title, Elias chuckled wryly. It would seem that his association with Asulon was greater than he would like. His fourth Title was the Storm’s Heir. This Title made him the symbolic inheritor of Asulon’s Legacy, and for the life of him, Elias did not know what to feel about this.

The moment he left this Fragment, Elias was determined to fully discover the meaning behind all of these mysteries, and then he sighed and looked at the Final Title, Sovereign of a Hundred Pools, which gave him an Irreducible Pool of Lumina.

Elias gasped when he saw this because, if he was right, this Title might be the key to breaking the situation he found himself in. As much as he liked his Infinite Pools of Lumina, Elias did not want to remain a Level 0 Wisp forever. Even if his Talent could provide his body with growth and transformation, there were certain unique traits and transformations possible only for Siphons at higher stages.

He did not know much about the higher stages of Siphon, but he knew at the Fury Forge level, the Lumina in the bodies of a Siphon would begin to alter their bodies in a manner that could not be replicated by mere attributes, and at the Mist Phantom level, the Siphon gained Lumina Threads that had unknown uses but seemed to be highly linked to their Talent and how they could express their powers better.

Elias had a thousand thoughts running through his head after seeing this Title and its benefit, but first, he would need to kill to confirm what it was capable of.

This section of his Status screen had ended, and he was approaching the end. He felt like he had learned so much, and yet he still had more questions. Sighing a bit in irritation, Elias glanced at his Unique Traits.
