Chapter 129: You See Your Enemy... You See Yourself

"Vuulโ€™gath kwe vadis nethโ€™lyss..." ๐—ณ๐š›๐šŽ๐šŽ๐˜„๐•–๐•“๐•Ÿ๐• ๐šŸ๐šŽ๐•.๐—ฐ๐• ๐ฆ

"You belong to me..."

In the beginning, Eliasโ€™s Lumina Space was a barren desert filled with white sand, and he could not see the edge of this place, as if it continued on for infinity. He did not know if this was the default appearance of everyone elseโ€™s Lumina Space, but the more he understood about himself, the less that seemed possible.

The first transformation happened when he introduced Lumina into this space. He had excavated his Lumina Pools and broken down the nine barriers that separated him from having one hundred pools of Lumina.

Looking back now, he should have gained twenty points for all hundred pools that were opened for each level in the Wisp stage; however, it would seem that the fusion of Miracle and Condemnation led to some loss, or they were compressed, reducing the points of the miracle/condemnation orb to eighteen.

A small part of Elias wondered if there were other Ascendant Candidates like him who were either attuned with Lumina light or Infernal hunger and had opened one hundred pools of Lumina, if they would have twenty miracle or condemnation points.

However, he knew that the true usage of this pool was not in these points that were given at every level. This sort of power was only desired by the masses who did not know any better. The true usage of the pools was for the chance to practice powerful Lumina Arts.

This desert of white sand inside Eliasโ€™s Lumina Space now had two major changes: the first was a tri-colored wisp, which was a representation of Eliasโ€™s consciousness inside the Lumina Space, and the second was a hundred massive pools of Lumina with eighteen shiny purple orbs above it.

It was at this point that the remnants of a nameless goddess seized his body and began to corrode his pools of Lumina, and it was no longer filled with Lumina, but blood.

From the moment Elias was touched by the Lumina, the crazy voice of the goddess had appeared in his mind

Many things happened from this point, but Elias was dead from the profound violation that resulted from his Lumina Space being taken over, and the sheer exhaustion from opening all one hundred pools of Lumina.

He should have been done for at this point, but his will remained, kept alive by the stubborn vitality that remained in his decaying flesh.

With the Fate-Erasing strike that Commander Yseult had implanted inside his body, Elias turned the tide, or should he say that the power of his Master turned the tide, as the remnants of that goddess were destroyed and purified, and yet her traces had left irreversible changes inside his Lumina Space.

The endless white sands still remained, but his one hundred Lumina Pools were no longer pools; they were now infinite oceans. Vast, depthless, and empty.

It was then that Elias realized that these were no mere traces; the remnant of the goddess had fused with him in its entirety. This concept did not bother Elias that much, and he even saw it as his due; after all, her voice was almost beginning to replace the Passengerโ€™s, and there was a hope that one day, even the Passenger would suffer the same fate as this dead goddess.

The fate-erasing strike not only brought him victory against the remnant of the goddess, but it also brought him to the first pillar of divinity that he needed to absorb in order for him to become an Ascendant Candidate, the Pillar of Sorrow.

"Vuulโ€™gath kwe vadis nethโ€™lyss..."

"You belong to me..."

With the assimilation of the Pillar of Sorrow into his body, a new war emerges as the System descended into his Lumina Space to correct certain violations that went beyond what should be admissible to an Ascendant Candidate.

As it went through the Lumina Space, it unearthed pieces of the goddess that had been hiding inside him, and it was crushed and assimilated into Eliasโ€™s Talent, which transformed from the Olden Talent, Adaptation, to the Elder Talent, Extreme Adaptation.

The System had also tried to reduce his infinite pools, and it partly succeeded, shrinking the pool by half, but Elias considered that half of infinity was still infinity, and this shrinking could even be better for him in the long run, because it gave him a defined boundary that he could work with.

"Finituโ€™raa kwe infynโ€™thraa tuuโ€™vorr..."

"You are mine in the contradiction that binds all things..."

With this assimilation, Elias also gained his new Ascendant Swarm, 52,000 strong, and all evolved with his ascension, becoming a part of him like another limb, and they no longer drained his vitality; instead, he is reinforced by their power, as they tripled his vitality and gave him the ability to create almost anything with them.

All of these memories were playing inside Eliasโ€™s mind, but they were not truly him recalling all of them; something far stranger was going on.

A moment ago, Elias had awakened, but not in his physical body; he was now in the form of his Ageless Echo, appearing like a purple ball of flame, and holding that ball of flame was a reptilian being that was made entirely of darkness. From his Ageless Echo, purple streams of fire were rising and were being drawn into the body of the creature.

This creature stood upright, standing more than eleven feet tall, but from the way its waist was bent, it could run on all fours if it wanted. Several massive black horns were emerging from its shoulders, and it had wings, but these wings were dozens of hands fused together.

The creature was both grotesque and yet carried an awful charm, not one of beauty, but of something that was made for slaughter.

Its voice when it spoke at first was gruff and deep, as if it were a massive snake that was just learning to talk, but the more of Eliasโ€™s memory that it was assimilating, its voice was getting more refined, and Elias could detect a hint of his voice inside it.

He looked at the face of this being. At first, it was faceless; its head was elongated like the pictures he had seen of dragons, yet it was streamlined, giving it a sleek appearance. It had no eyes or nostrils, except a massive, elongated jaw. But slowly, small changes began to appear, as what looked like the beginning of a nose began to form, and its massive jaws were shrinking.

If he was not wrong, the creature was on its way to transforming into Elias.

Perhaps he should be feeling fear, but he was not; instead, what he felt was excitement, even though he was in grave danger. The only thing Elias feared was ignorance and not knowing his enemy, but this creature had brought itself into his Lumina Space, and that meant the game had changed.

The words it was saying should be strange, but Elias could understand every one of them, and that was because he heard similar words when he began fusing the core of the Void Legacy with his Lumina Pools.

And he knew that whatever Legacy was inside this creature, it was using it as a means to assimilate Eliasโ€™s consciousness. However, Elias grinned inside him. Two can play this game.

"Zhulโ€™kathar vor nethโ€™lyss"

"In the hollow between all things, the boundary dissolves."
