Legendary Traveler: By Earning Progress Points I will Become Supreme!-Chapter 175 : Shopping on the 7th Floor (3)
'Oh…I guess that makes sense," Aoni mused while reading through the chat box and redirecting his attention back toward the Nodes of Summoning.
To be honest, he really didn't care what type of summons came out of the node. Would it be nice to have something useful? Sure, but was it necessary? Not really.
The biggest question on his mind was if he could upgrade things brought out by nodes he didn't personally acquire.
Unfortunately, even if his AN was being chatty about dragons and sub-species, it refused to answer his question about adding points to whatever was brought out of the flume using a foreign node.
'For now, let's not risk it; it would be nice to start with a 2-Star creature and all that because I could boost them as I did with Nyria; however, if not, I am stuck with something that will end up nothing more than a working drone.' Heaving a reluctant sigh, Aoni turned around and walked away from the 1-Star and 2-Star Nodes of summoning and back to the gradeless ones.
'For now, I should go ahead and grab a couple of these; in the worst-case scenario, I end up with a couple of useless summons that I can train to do minor tasks like clearing snow, but they are still mouths to feed, even if they don't have a consciousness I won't treat them poorly.'

"Excuse me, Harrison, I'd like these four here…" Aoni stated while pointing out four Nodes that caught his attention because the stick figures looked like they could be bipedal. Still, alas, the runic pictures weren't very clear, so it was more like a lottery than a guarantee.
Either way, it was a test, so Aoni didn't pay much attention, even though he was about to spend more money than he'd personally seen in his life.
After all, 40 thousand CD was no small number to him; with that amount alone, he could move out and get a small apartment for himself and live for at least 6 months if he stayed a minimalist.
Then again, that was by mundane standards and not those of a Traveler.
"Very well, Traveler Thurston, I will take them out for you and hold onto them until you are ready to check out," moving with efficiency, Harrison appeared beside Aoni, unlocked the glass case, and, under Aoni's direction, removed the four nodes of his choice before storing them away in a storage artifact and calculating the price.
"Your current cart is priced at 47,259 CD,"
"Thank you, Harrison. Can you please show us the crafting tools?"
"Of course, Traveler Thurston, right this way," Placing the storage artifact in his apron, Harrison calmly turned around. He began walking away, under the assumption that both Aoni and Damien were following, which they were.
---
Nearly two hours later, the pair of newbie Travelers finally left Caster's. Damien was wearing the same casual expression, and Aoni looked like his soul had left his body.
'Half, half my money is gone, just like that, poof 600k, it hurts my heart…' Wiping away a tear that threatened to stain his cheeks, Aoni looked at the bracelet adorning his right wrist.
This new addition was a special storage artifact given to him as a bonus for having spent so much money in the store.
It wasn't fancy or ornate, just a plain silver bangle that fit around his arm; however, what set it aside was the little compartment tab, which, when opened up, would allow a person to not only see inside the artifact but store or withdraw its contents.
By itself, the bracelet was rather expensive, around 200k, but since he'd spend triple that and was an Orange-Tier Traveler, Harrison had thrown it in for free.
Pat pat pat
"I know, I know, spending money hurts," Noticing Aoni's reaction, Damien, wanting to be a good friend, tried to comfort the lad he was walking with, only to get his hand swatted away.
"Damien, I just wasted more than my family makes in several years; I could have done so much with that money…but I needed these things for my territory." Glaring at Damien with watery emerald eyes, Aoni snorted and walked around aimlessly for a while before finally coming up with an idea for what he wanted to do next.
"I wanna find some presents for my family; help me find a good store that isn't super expensive."
"Gotcha, good buddy, fear not, I know just the place," patting his chest with a 'you can trust me' attitude, Damien pulled ahead and led the way toward a few well-known boutiques.
---
A few hours of shopping later and even more money spent, Aoni and Damien finally made their way back to the elevators and, after pressing the button labeled (1), headed to the ground floor of the Bureau Headquarters.
"I think your mom will like those gifts the most; you're a good son, Aoni," nodding in approval, Damien watched Aoni shift nervously in the elevator with a slight smile on his face.
Due to having spent most of the day and evening with his new friend, it was fairly easy for him to grasp the young man's attitude and personality, and although he seemed hard to approach and rather shut off from the world, Damien felt he'd finally made his first real friend.
"Do you need me to help you arrange a car, or have you figured it all out on your Commu?" Ignoring the people around them, Aoni and Damien stepped outside into the humid night and stood off to the side of the building.
"Uh, it's on the official app, right? I just navigate to the right page and tap my access card against my Commu…" Tearing his eyes from his smart watch and looking for confirmation, Aoni saw Damien nod with a wistful smile.
"Yep, it's pretty easy. I'm glad to see you got the hang of your new tech so fast." Gazing out down the road, Damien caught sight of a limousine heading in his direction and sighed before practically transforming in the blink of an eye.
Not a physical transformation, of course, no, that would be wild; instead, from Aoni's perspective, gone was the carefree young man, and now standing beside him was a literal young master who practically radiated arrogance and wealth.
