Legendary Traveler: By Earning Progress Points I will Become Supreme!-Chapter 174 : Shopping on the 7th Floor (2)
Walking side by side through the automatic glass doors, Aoni and Damien entered Caster's Emporium and, in doing so, drew quite a few gazes from random passersby.
After all, this was considered a top-of-the-line store, and no matter how you looked at it, from behind or from an obscure angle, Aoni didn't look like he belonged.
Thankfully, the staff, unlike randoms outside, had a different approach entirely.
Within three seconds of entering the large store, which was laid out like a grocery store, a clerk came up and greeted the two newbie travelers with a smile.
"Orange-Tier Traveler's Thurston and Cheshire, my name is Harrison; how may I be of assistance to you today."
Taking a quick peek at their access cards, the clerk, a man in his late 20s with a slim build and slicked-back green hair, stood politely and greeted them not only by name but by Orange-Tier Traveler.
"Heyah, Harrison, can you direct us towards the isle with summoning nodes, preferably ones that have guaranteed multiple beings." Taking charge since Aoni seemed a bit overwhelmed, Damien stepped forward and addressed the clerk.

"Sure thing, Traveler Cheshire. If I may ask, is there any type of summoning you are looking for in particular?" Watching the young man in front of him, Harrison made a welcoming gesture toward the two of them and began directing them down the many aisles, packed to the brim with shelves, labels, and items, each one held in giant locked glass cases.
'Makes me wonder who is ballsy enough to try and steal from a big corporation like Caster's, then again with all the different Attributes out there, I'm pretty sure there has to be a few people that would be willing to test their luck.' Aoni thought while briefly examining the wares on display.
Navigating the store with ease, Harrison brought the pair of travelers to an aisle with the number 32 floating dead center and then paused to let Aoni and Damien catch up.
"This is the aisle housing the majority of our Mass Summon Nodes; each item has a description and clearly posted price; however, as Orange-Tier Travelers, you, of course, have access to a few means of acquiring discounts on bulk purchases. Now, if you have anything further, I will be right here waiting. Please take your time." Standing with his hands behind his back and off to the side, Harrison left Aoni and Damien to browse.
"Thanks," Aoni said in a meek tone before walking past Damien and taking in the contents of the nearby shelves.
As far as he could tell, at a glance, everything looked the same: a small circular rock on a node with a bunch of stick figures printed on the surface.
These rocks were placed upon ornate pillows, color coordinated with the Node's grade; using the pillow colors as a guide, it was fairly easy to differentiate the Node Grades as if it was on a burlap pillow, it would be Gradeless, Grey 1-Star, and red 2-Star.
"So what are we looking for here? Guards, minions, resource-gatherers?" Walking up beside Aoni and speaking in a hushed whisper so as not to be overheard, Damien asked curiously.
"Uh, anything really? I'm not that picky; what do you know about these?" Aoni asked while waving his hand toward the glass cases.
"Well, Gradeless Summoning Nodes generally guarantee 1-2 beings, the 1-Stars net 2-4, and 2-Stars can get you 3-5 summons. Apart from that, there isn't much to say because unless the Node's description explicitly states a generalized profile of the creatures, it will be random, as usual with Flume Summoning.
Slowly making their way down the aisle, Aoni listened to what Damien was saying and compared it to the information listed on the cards displaying prices and information.
For the most part, all of the gradeless Nodes had a relatively similar price of 10,000 CryptoDollars each.
By the time they got through the gradeless nodes and to the 1-Stars, Aoni noticed not only did the price drastically increase, but now and then he'd locate an added piece of data, IE, humanoid, non-humanoid, monster, pack…it varied, but that was where the differences began.
If the Node had specific characteristics, the price was, of course, through the roof, between 50 to 100,000 CryptoDollars, and that price alone freaked Aoni out a bit because if it was like this with 1-Stars, wouldn't the 2-Stars eat his entire bank account balance.
Steadying his thoughts but unable to curb his curiosity, Aoni tore his eyes away from the 1-Stars and walked toward the 2-Stars, but when he did, his feet stuck to the ground like glue, and his mouth dropped open.
2-Star Node of Summoning
Price: 578,000 CD
Characteristics: 3-5 Bipedal-Humanoid-Reptilian Summons
2-Star Node of Summoning
Price: 1,233,000 CD
Characteristics: 3-5 Draconian Sub-Species Summons
"Hssss Dragons!"
"Nope, just Draconian Sub-Species; they probably have a little dragon blood in their genes, but since it says sub-species, it's nothing more than a little less "Lizard." And a little more 'Dragon.'" Shrugging his shoulders, Damien only looked at the description of the super-expensive Node of Summoning for a moment without any change in expression before moving on to a different one.
'What the hell is that supposed to mean? Is it or isn't it a dragon…' Standing in place and looking at the Node resting on a red pillow, Aoni noticed that instead of runes that looked like stick figures, this time, they had lines representing snouts and even stick wings.
Draconian sub-species have lost the traits that would set them apart from other lizards due to the thinning in their genetic makeup. For example, if you took a gecko and compared it to a mythical creature such as a Dragon, the difference is night and day; however, a Dragon is still a reptile, just like the gecko
Geckos don't have wings, breathe fire, or have immense strength and the ability to wield elements as if an extension of themselves, yet they still have slitted pupils and share many characteristics with actual Dragons
The same could be said for the Sub-Species; they have slightly more Dragon DNA and, as such, share more traits in common with their ancestor species
