Legendary Oops System-Chapter 62: Nova’s Bizarre New Ability
There, standing with both arms outstretched in a princely bow with a finger pointing to herself was Nova.
When he finally gained control of himself, he forced,
"I.. I didn’t know you were that type of person."
"What? I’m a female too?" She said with an eye roll.
"Yeaaah, females don’t call themselves female though?"
"I’m not a girl, and woman sounds too old."
She said.
"Then, a lady would be proper."
He said, but then paused, asking,
"How many years old are you again?"
People like them normally awaken at 17 and then attend the academy.
That was the standard age, but the normal age usually ranges from 17–20, with some late awakeners going as late as 21.
"I’m 20."
She said, and though it was well within the age bracket, it still surprised White a bit...actually a lot.
He wasn’t expecting that.
"Wait, what is your age?"
She asked in return.
"You know that flower over there has a..."
White said, trying to divert attention away from the question but it only brought her hard stare as she leaned closer to him, her eyes looking fiercely into his.
"Don’t try to dodge it."
"Dodge what?"]
He asked, but looking at her plain expression eventually replied,
"I’m sev..se..yeen. By the way, you know..."
"Say it louder."
She barked.
"I’m seventeen."
The answer was like a bolt of electricity through her.
"No way!"
Nova said in disbelief.
"You’re 17!?"
"What? 17 is the normal age of the awakening?"
He said, and she froze pointing her finger as her mouth opened and closed repeatedly before she eventually collapsed back to the ground, grabbing her hair.
’I kissed him. I kissed a 17-year-old boy. I could have been arrested for child abuse.’
"You broke through to the Early Star Realm too. Congratulations."
White suddenly said breaking her from her embarrassment.
"Yes, and not just that, I awakened a new ability."
She said excitedly, and in the next moment, he watched as she fell silent, closing both her eyes and standing still.
Nothing happened for the first few seconds apart from Nova’s eyebrows knitting together in even more focus, and just when it seemed like the perfect time to give it up,
VRRRROOOM!
The breeze in the air suddenly increased as waves of air weaved through White, and he felt a bizarre pulse cross through him.
In the next moment, all of Nova’s hair began to slowly levitate from her back, seemingly defying gravity and coming to hang horizontally behind her, as blue motes of light radiated out from her hair.
Her eyes opened up in the next moment, sending a powerful flicker of blue light that momentarily blinded White.
When he opened his eyes after, it widened in complete shock.
Nova wasn’t standing there.
She was gone!
He jumped up to his feet in the next instant, racing towards the edge of the hill where she must have fallen, but his steps paused as he jerked back watching as a blue line of light tore up into the sky.
"Nova?"
White mused in disbelief watching as the light flashed around the sky before it slowly descended before him.
It was like an angelic woman except instead of white wings she had massive blue wings widespread behind her, every flicker sending motes of blue light raining down.
"You...You grew wings!?"
He asked watching but all of a sudden the massive blue wings flapped harder in that moment drowning White in a rain of blue motes of light.
"I swear that wasn’t me. It’s the wings. It’s like it has a mind of its own."
She claimed and he watched her suddenly fly to the far east side before flying fast again to the north then going in a zigzag motion.
All of it led to Nova giggling hard, though White’s face slowly turned from disbelieve to slow horror.
From the way she was being flown around chaotically without any sort of input on her part, and how she kept talking to the wings to stop.
It was immediately clear that she truly wasn’t the one controlling those massive things.
"Hey system, is an ability supposed to be like that...with its own consciousness?"
[I have no idea.]
"Okay, Nova. Get back down."
White called out into the sky and she flew back again but didn’t land, instead sprinkling more blue motes on White before speeding into the distance.
"Tsk, that thing,"
White grumbled.
"Activate Limitless Body."
He ordered and in the next moment, blue runes covered him as his strength massively skyrocketed.
BAAADUMP!
A single pounding of his heart and he faded from where he stood, blitzing forward.
As if tempting him, instead of moving higher, Nova moved down instead to his level before flying forward with even more speed.
"It’s quite fast,"
White mused in quiet disbelief watching the wings blur her forward.
"Unfortunately, I don’t need to run."
White mused and in the next moment, he paused reaching out his finger instead.
"Activate Limitless Collapse."
He ordered and right after the space before him crumbled as a black hole appeared.
A powerful suction force burst out in the next moment dragging everything backwards.
Nova was immediately slowed down to a crawl and quietly in the next moment she was reeled in.
Her wings flapped harder trying to escape but it was for naught.
Limitless Collapse was of course an attack skill, and if she got reeled in enough she would be fully dragged in then the space would violently blow her away, hurting her.
So White only kept it active for 3 seconds.
That time frame was enough for him to appear beside Nova and grab her, before flashing away from where he stood.
BOOOOOOM!
An explosion rocked the space as the vortex violently unleashed a resultant force sending a powerful blast of air.
"Wow. That’s strong."
Nova mused, 100 meters away from the area where the vortex had collapsed.
There were blade-like slices on the ground all formed from how powerful the air had been made to be once the vortex violently blew it back.
If that had met her, she would have taken real damage.
"And that’s quite some fast wings, you’ve got."
White said turning to the wings.
They had folded back behind her back, but still visible, just not oustretched.
"Can I touch it?"
He asked and she nodded.
His hand reached forward it, but then,
SLAP!
"Oww!"
