Legendary Oops System-Chapter 42: Defeating The Strongest!
The students could see the phantom of the lightning hand descending onto White.
The crack that rapidly appeared beneath his feet revealed to them just how much pressure the attack contained, yet White remained unmoving, his hands adamantly stretched out like an unwavering pillar.
With him holding out, the space before his fingers began to condense
WAAAARP!
An inexplicable sound echoed through the the battle stage as a tiny black dot appeared before an absorption force burst forth.
Many lightning strands were rapidly dragged in, but the lightning hands closed forward, seemingly unaffected by the pull.
The system panel flashed.
[Limitless Collapse is weaker. It can’t draw in the Wrath Lightning hands.]
It flashed, and White replied
’Input all ability upgrade Cards to Limitless Collapse!’
[Ability Upgrade Cards: 3]
[Inputting all Ability Upgrade Cards to Limitless Collapse!] 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
[Congratulations, Limitless Collapse has reached Level 4!]
Just when it seemed like the golden hand had bypassed the absorption force to reach White, it was roughly dragged back all of a sudden, as the absorption force multiplied n an instant.
Everyone, even the students in their seats, felt the terrifying force prompting them to cling to their chairs.
Gustav’s eyes were lit in disbelief.
He knew Limitless Collapse. A popular skill of the Limitless Family.
He knew compared to his Calamitous Lightning Hand skill, it couldn’t absorb it, yet not only was his phantom hand being pulled in, but he also found himself slowly skidding forward towards White.
The entire lightning on the battle stage was fully absorbed into the black hole, which began sparking with lightning, and Gustav soon reached him, teeths clenched hard in resistance.
White’s fingers slowly moved away from Gustav’s neck to the center of his chest, creeping silence descending as all the student’s breath froze in their lungs.
"He won’t dare to release it right on his chest, would..."
"Collapse!"
KAABOOOOOOM!
The explosion was devastating.
A massive pillar of lightning gushed outwards with power slamming head on with Gustav.
He tried to regain control of his lightning, but what came out seemed to have changed its nature.
It smashed into him, a hundreds of cuts appearing on him instantly.
His body was completely paralyzed, and the world around him sped insanely before,
BOOOOOOOOM!
He smashed straight into the stadium’s seats, carving open a two-meter-long path on the wall, before he came to a stop, laid out flat.
Not only the students, even White’s face changed massively and he turned to the battle instructor in disbelief.
The man was standing right here beside Whie, easily shouldering the Limitless Collapse with his arms crossed, but that wasn’t what shocked White.
What shocked him was that the battle instructor had appeared the moment he was about to unleash Limitless Collapse.
The instructor ought to already know Limitless Collapse would be able to absorb the lightning and release it on Gustav, yet when White had expected him to stop the collapse in that moment, the man didn’t do anything.
White noticed he tried, his hand reaching out, yet at the last moment, he suddenly withdrew back his hand, letting the full force of a Level 4 grade Limitless Collapse that had absorbed Wrath Lightning slam straight into a student’s chest.
"WINNER! WHITE SINCLAW!"
The announcement rang out and an uproar burst forth amongst the students who cheered loudly.
Amidst the cheering, the instructor felt White’s confused gaze on him and he turned to him, whispering,
"Gustav is arrogant."
"He needed a student to put him in his place, or he’ll never think this class is worth his time and obviously would learn nothing. That’s why I didn’t stop your attack."
"Good job."
He said with a wide grin before stepping away and White could only walk in silence back towards his seat.
’Tsk, these bastards!’
He mused when he found the students pulling at his neck from celebration.
Gustav had been defeated!
The Number 1 was down.
Of course, they all wished someone would wipe off his arrogant smirk, and seeing him laid flat on the ground couldn’t make them any happier.
[Don’t let it get to your head.]
The system panel flashed.
[They’ll cheer for you today, but tomorrow, they’ll also want to see you laid down on the ground like Gustav.]
"I know."
White mused.
Gustav was soon carried out by the health staff and the instructor concluded the class.
Just as he expected, this one-on-one fight was just to open the class.
From now on, each of them would be made to practice a combat manual provided by the school, and they would be introduced to what that manual is in the next class.
White felt a bit excited.
After all, the man had called the combat manual an Elite origin artifact that could make the practitioner win any and all battles.
What would it be?
Some battle art?
A fighting style?
An attack technique or maybe it’s a defense rule that followed the defense-is-the-best-attack philosophy?
Whatever it was, he would know in the second class.
For now, he needed to go back home and change.
His uniform was riddled with holes and were burning dark smoke from all the Wrath Lightning.
Parting away from the students who all headed straight for the cafeteria, he made his way back to his dorm room.
He unlocked the door and went straight to the shower, pulling his clothes off to take a bath.
Before he could switch on the shower,
[Don’t bathe. Go to the cultivating room.]
The system panel flashed, and White raised an eyebrow but listened, shutting the bathroom door and leaving for the cultivating room.
Sinking into the essence pool, a gasp of shock escaped his lips when he felt golden lightning crackle across his skin, sending a stinging pain.
’What is this?’
[Gustav’s element is unique. His lightning to be exact.]
[It’s Wrath Lightning, one of the more powerful ones, but Wrath Lightning is special in that if it strikes you and you manage to survive it, then it will proceed to temper your body instead, giving you even more power and massively increasing your reaction speed.]
[So, stay still. I’ll try to refine as much as I can.]
The system panel flashed, and White bit his lips hard, his hands digging into the edge of the essence pool.
’Is there anything good you’ll do for me that doesn’t come with pain?’
[Just hold on a second. I’m almost done.]
30 minutes later...
"Argh!"
The groan of pain echoed even louder in the essence room.
