Legendary Awakening: Strongest Class In the Apocalypse-Chapter 47: Corruption
A rare-grade healing potion!
Some of the surrounding elves noticed Millie, and their eyes were filled with jealousy. As they were from the other world, they enjoyed reduced privileges compared to humans; thus, the chances of them getting drops were close to zero.
Brutus, who was at the front line, also noticed the crystal-clear bottle filled with crimson liquid in Millie’s hands, and his eyes flashed with a dark thought.
If he could get all the items dropped by the monsters killed by humans...
As soon as this idea appeared in his mind, something inside Brutus’s head exploded. It was becoming difficult for him to think about anything else.
Not just him—elves were inherently intelligent. Most of the elven soldiers watching this scene had the same thought as their commander Brutus.
How could the sharp and perceptive Evelyn not notice what was going on in their brains?
Evelyn could only sigh.
These stupid people. No wonder the situation of this village is so terrible.
Thinking up to this point, her eyes turned toward Xavier. Although she wasn’t sure what kind of relationship Xavier had with these two girls but it was definitely not hostile, if he realized what kind of dirty thoughts the elves had, he definitely would not like it.
The tide of battle was changing fast. The giant wave of goblins, which once looked unstoppable, suddenly had its momentum slowly come to a halt.
Maybe Xavier was too lost in the battle, or something else, but he didn’t notice the strange looks in the elves’ eyes.
However, it didn’t go completely unnoticed.
While Xavier was dancing through the battlefield, slicing the goblins, his shadow suddenly distorted and a figure emerged from it.
Zerin’s face had a light smirk as she looked at the elves standing behind Xavier. She could barely hold the disgust rising from deep within her heart.
"No matter which world I go to, there are even more hateful and cruel beings than my Abyssal race... yet only my Abyssal race is hated and labelled as evil..."
Then her eyes moved toward Xavier, especially at the purple aura slowly enveloping his figure, slowly merging with the very fibers of his being.
In real time she could see Xavier’s see strength rising in realm time reaching a level that should have been impossible for a non-evolved creature to reach.
As Zerin moved through the battlefield, not even a single creature seemed to notice her presence.
She moved like a ghost.
Her eyes never leaving Xavier’s figure.
The more she watched, the more interested she became.
"Among all the legendary class holders that I have encountered, there is something different about him..."
Zerin muttered while continuing to observe.
The splashing blood passed through her body as if she was nothing but a phantom.
Xavier could feel Zerin observing him silently, but he chose to ignore her.
It wasn’t that he didn’t like making use of Zerin, but if he ordered her to take action the situation would complicate even further.
As such, he kept her as a secret trump card.
Meanwhile, as he killed goblins, notifications continued echoing in his head.
[You have absorbed the spiritual record of Level 7 Normal Goblin]
[You have...]
[Execution Streak – 10]
.
.
[Execution Streak – 100]
[Deathwill Aura Bonus – All stats increased by 100%]
In just a matter of minutes, the bonus from the Deathwill Executioner aura reached one hundred percent.
The area around Xavier completely turned into a brutal slaughterhouse, with the thick scent of iron filling the surroundings. Blood formed into small pools on the ground.
The elven soldiers and Prince Sunark, who were questioning Xavier’s sanity a few moments ago, now had slightly horrified looks in their eyes.
Were their eyes playing tricks on them?
Commander Brutus’s eyes narrowed to thin slits.
With the current Deathwill aura bonus, all of Xavier’s stats were above one hundred—a number that few non-evolved creatures could ever reach in their lifetime.
Moreover, with passing time, the pressure radiating from Xavier’s figure was reaching a level they could only look up to.
First Sequence?
As soon as this thought appeared in Brutus’s head, he hurriedly shook it away.
It’s not possible.
Just how long had it been since this world merged with the Infinite Record? It was too dammn early anyone to successfully evolve.
Xavier didn’t care about their shocked state.
The Wardens rune blade in his hand continued tearing through the air, screaming like a banshee.
Execution streak slowly increasing toward the 200 mark.
Thinking of something, Xavier’s heartbeat couldn’t help but accelerate.
Just a few more kills and I would reach one thousand total cumulative kills.
Can this trigger an achievement?
Triggering achievements was what he looked forward to the most, as all the skills he had gotten so far were from achievements.
Just as he was getting close to the achievement, he noticed something changing.
Suddenly, a subtle change in the aura occurred on the battlefield.
The goblins that were blindly throwing themselves toward him suddenly started retreating, giving way to goblins dressed in robes and holding wands in their hands. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
"I have a bad feeling about this..."
Xavier muttered in a low voice, his eyes growing slightly alert.
As he focused on the new arrivals, his Predation Sense skill automatically activated.
[Corrupted Goblin Mage – Level 24]
[Weakness – Nephalim Heart]
Corrupted Goblin Mage?
What is that supposed to mean?
Xavier questioned in his heart, feeling slightly uneasy.
For some reason he couldn’t help but remember the corruption he had sensed at Fort John.
Does this corruption have something to do with the so-called Abyss invasion?
Xavier wasn’t sure.
Hmm... I need to ask the Abyssal Queen Zerin. She might have better answers.
Just as he was thinking, his expression stiffened.
The bad feeling in his heart intensified.
At that moment, everyone present on the battlefield felt a faint tremor run through the earth beneath their feet.
Sensing incredible danger, Xavier jumped on instinct.
Shing!
The blood-soaked land suddenly split open like a mirror, throwing sharp stone spikes toward the sky.
The few elven soldiers who had gotten careless and were unable to react in time were pinned by those spikes.
Loud, painful cries filled the surroundings.
"Damn it!"
Xavier cursed after landing on the edge of a crevice.
Just one look, and his face turned slightly ugly.
The losses were disastrous.
Just from a single attack, the elves had lost more than one-third of their soldiers.
The tide of battle had once again shifted to the goblins’ side.
