Legendary Architect of Apocalypse-Chapter 102: Advantage of the Rules
"What is that?" The Prophet watched the strange object flying in their direction, leaving a trail of fire in its wake. Based on its current trajectory, it didn’t appear to be heading for the palace, but it was still going to land somewhere within their territory.
Even though he wasn’t sure what it was, he could sense that it was ominous. His instincts screamed at him.
He raised his hand, and his eyes slowly turned black. A thin layer of darkness appeared before the object, creating a barrier to block it from falling.
"What was that?" Zesten also looked curious about the strange object that had appeared in their territory.
"Hmm? How is that..." The Prophet’s expression darkened as he saw cracks appear in his barrier. Before he could even complete his thought, the barrier of the starry sky shattered, and the object fell to the ground.
Boom~
The ground itself trembled as a large cloud of flames erupted where the object had fallen. The flames engulfed everything within a hundred-mile radius, and they weren’t ordinary flames.
Even though they were at the palace, they could still hear the screams of the fables caught in the fiery cloud. Those at the center of impact were instantly destroyed. Even those farther away were not left unharmed.
Zesten looked at the destruction caused by the object, which was even stronger than a full-strength attack from a mid-tier Fable. His gaze narrowed as he saw another object flying toward them, this time with a slightly different trajectory.
"I expect an explanation from you about the origin of that thing by the time I’m back!" he told the prophet before flying off.
He flew straight into the sky, in the direction of the projectile. The moment he drew closer, he reached out his hand to stop the metallic-looking object.
Bang!
The moment the object touched his hand, it exploded. A similarly large cloud of flames spread out, but this time, it was far enough from the ground to hurt anyone else. The only person it could devour was Zesten himself.
A few seconds passed before the cloud of flames began dispersing, revealing a figure still standing in the sky, his long robe fluttering in the heavy winds.
He was more or less unharmed, but his expression was unsightly as he looked at the small tear in his clothes. He patted his shoulder, extinguishing a small flicker of flame that had caught on him.
"My Lord, are you alright?" The guards reached Zesten and asked him out of concern.
"Go and help the others," Zesten answered while gazing into the direction where the object seemingly came from.
His heightened senses allowed him to see far away, to the point that he was able to see a young boy standing a few hundred meters away from the Shadow Domain, next to another strangely shaped metallic object.
"’I performed some calculations, and the attack seemed to come from the same place where...’" The Prophet tried to speak, but he still seemed hesitant as it didn’t make sense to him.
"’It came from the place that you calculated for that human, right?’" Zesten asked coldly, already understanding what had happened.
"’I...’" The old man was at a loss for words, realizing what it meant. He was so busy calculating the whereabouts of the boy that he failed to calculate the fate of those who were sent to capture him. He hadn’t even considered the possibility.
He tried to explain why he might have failed, but before he could even utter a sentence, Zesten slapped him, sending him crashing into the palace walls.
"’You have truly failed me this time.’" Zesten couldn’t believe that something like this had happened, and the Prophet hadn’t even known about it.
He didn’t even spare a second glance at the Prophet as he started flying towards the border of the domain. The Prophet came out from the hole in the wall, the corner of his lips bleeding.
Even though he was slapped, he still followed Zesten to the border of the Shadow Domain. But they weren’t alone. There were a few more prominent figures in the Shadow Domain who had sensed the disturbance caused by the explosions.
When they heard that Zesten had left his territory, they grew even more curious and decided to investigate as well."
It took Zesten merely a few seconds to reach the border of the Shadow Domain. But even he couldn’t go beyond that point, being restricted to forever be trapped within the domain as a high-grade Fable.
He stopped on the other side of the border, looking at the boy that was merely a few hundred meters away from him.
"Interesting. Looks like we caught the fish on the first try," Elias mumbled, looking through the scope on the Sniper. With improved vision from the scope, he was able to perform analysis on the person and verify that it was indeed Zesten.

"Those stats are quite high." That was the first thought that came to Elias’s mind when he saw the complete results of the analysis.
"He is not alone, it seems," Astralious said, watching others arrive from different directions within the Shadow Domain. "If I’m not wrong, the others are even stronger than him. You’re lucky they can’t leave the domain."
"That’s why I could do something like this," Elias said, understanding full well that he couldn’t defeat them in a one-on-one fight with his current strength.
However, that was why he came here in the first place. It was to take complete advantage of the rules of this world to strengthen himself.
