Legacy of the Void Fleet-Chapter 36: Ch 34- the need of shipyards (votes please)
For a moment, Kallus was completely stunned. His mind blanked, and an instinctive reaction almost took over—he nearly facepalmed. Seriously? he thought. But with great effort, he controlled himself, quickly regaining his composure. He couldn’t afford to look flustered, not in the middle of an important meeting.
Taking a deep breath, he shifted his focus back to Tyler, who remained completely serious, unaware of the silent exchange. Kallus internally sighed.
Kallus knew Tyler well. On the surface, he carried himself like a sage-like figure—calm, meticulous, and always serious when it came to work. He was careful with his words and precise in his actions, never letting emotions cloud his judgment.
But for those who truly knew him, Tyler was a completely different person. Beneath that serious exterior was someone surprisingly cheerful and easygoing. Getting to know him was like visiting a completely different person—one moment he was a composed strategist, and the next, he could be cracking jokes or sharing stories with an enthusiasm that didn’t match his usual demeanor.
Kallus almost smirked at the thought. If only people saw how he really is outside of work… But right now, Tyler was in his professional mode, laser-focused on the project.
Kallus returned to his serious demeanor and said, "This should be enough for now. The other classes of ships will have to wait. With our limited numbers, these are all we can afford to field at the moment."
Tyler sighed, his expression showing a hint of regret or disappointment. It was clear that he had wanted to showcase more of the advanced technology that he and his team had painstakingly recreated. However, he also understood the reality of their situation—their crew numbers were insufficient to operate more ships effectively.
With a resigned nod, Tyler replied, "Indeed, you are right, Commander. Given our current fleet composition, including the thirteen Anteros-class battleships and the two additional ones still under construction, we will soon have a total of fifteen battleships capable of acting as flagships. Centered around these, we can form between eight and fifteen fleets, depending on our strategic deployment."
He paused for a moment before adding, "And that’s not even counting the Obliterator-class Star Dreadnought and its escorting two Super Anteros-class battleships—our true heavy-hitters."
Kallus nodded, his mind already working through potential fleet formations and deployment strategies. The foundation of his fleet was solid, but he knew that more challenges lay ahead.
Just as Kallus was deep in thought, Tyler added, "But Commander, to actually form and sustain these fleets—whether it’s eight or fifteen—we need to begin constructing dedicated shipyards. Relying solely on the two internal shipyards of the Obliterator-class Dreadnought won’t be enough to produce an entire fleet at the scale we need."
Kallus frowned slightly, understanding the truth in Tyler’s words. The internal shipyards of the Obliterator-class were powerful, capable of building and repairing ships efficiently, but they had their limits. They were designed for strategic production and emergency fleet maintenance—not for mass-producing warships on an empire-building scale.
He exhaled, already running calculations in his mind. Expanding their shipbuilding capability would be crucial. Without additional shipyards, their fleet growth would stagnate, leaving them vulnerable in the long run.
"You’re right," Kallus admitted.
He continued, We’ll need to secure locations for new shipyards— Do you have any suggestions on where we should begin?"
To this, Tyler replied, "We can establish an orbital shipyard near the Moon. It’s a secure location, and with our current fleet presence, there shouldn’t be any major threats. It will also give us a strategic advantage for future expansions."
Kallus nodded in agreement. "That makes sense. As for resources, we can extract them from the asteroid belts within the solar system. There should be more than enough raw materials there to sustain large-scale ship production."
With this plan in mind, Kallus could already envision the next phase of their expansion. A lunar shipyard would allow them to ramp up production, while mining operations in the asteroid belt would ensure a steady supply of essential materials.
"I’ll need to consult with Resource and Industrial Minister Evans," Kallus said.
"And since our meeting is over," Kallus added, "there’s nothing left to discuss."
Tylor let out a long sigh. "We do have things to discuss. The problem is, we don’t have enough resources."
Listening to his reply, Kallus’ mouth twitched. Ahh, this man always knows how to hit a sore point, even in serious meetings.
Kallus, controlling his frustration over Tylor’s remark, responded, "Human resources."

Tylor frowned in confusion. "What human resources, Commander?"
Kallus, frustrated, exclaimed, "Damn it! It’s a human resource issue—we don’t have that! That’s what I’m saying!"
Tylor scratched his head and replied, "Ohh, so that’s what you were saying, Commander. I just forgot that for a moment."
Kallus pointed at him and said, "You... you—" but before he could finish, they heard something drop to the floor.
Both of them turned their attention toward the sound and saw Tessa, who had been standing behind Tylor throughout the meeting, now on the floor, laughing uncontrollably without saying a word.
Just as Kallus vanished, Tessa, who had heard his parting words, abruptly stopped laughing. A shiver ran through her spine, causing her expression to shift to one of a helpless animal awaiting slaughter, her face twisted in confusion and panic.
"I didn’t do anything..." she muttered, her voice uncertain.
If Kallus had seen her expression, he would have only smirked, smiling at her plight—even if it was because of him, or soon would be.
....
While Kallus was teleporting back and forth at Obliterator to meet his subordinates, not far from the Void Fleet, the Star Fleet was holding its own meeting.
Chancellor Bai Zong qi and his officers were deeply discussing the tasks tied to their alliance with Kallus and the crucial details surrounding it.
Leading the talks, Bai Zongqi addressed the agreement with Kallus, outlining the plan to introduce the Void Fleet’s presence to Earth’s powers. He emphasized its significance and the strategic steps necessary to ensure a smooth transition.
Joining him in the discussion were his flagship commander, Yu Tong, the ever-fierce lady, along with his military advisor, Yao Shen, and various senior members of his fleet.
