Legacy Of The Extra-Chapter 38: Aeris Illya Thaloreon
Chapter 38 - Aeris Illya Thaloreon
The room was lit with two lanterns hanging from the ceiling, giving light to the various weapons that stood on the rack. The air inside the room was stale, with a slight smell of metal.
Sounds of coins clinking echoed inside the room. A man sat on a small wooden stool, his head leaning forward. His black eyes scanned the huge amount of gold and silver coins holed up in the open chest in front of him.
"This should be enough for a few months," He muttered to himself, his hands piling up a few coins. His smile widened as he looked at the lustre they produced.
He put the pile back in the chest and lifted the gray hair that fell on his forehead. Then he stood up from the stool, making his way to another corner of the room.
There stood a small cage—small enough to fit a few animals but big enough to at least hold two human-sized creatures.
The man crouched down, his posture lax. His eyes gleamed with mischief as he stared at the figure shackled inside the cage. He smirked, "You know, my fellow mates wanted to make... Let's say 'Love' with you."
"But you know, I stopped them from doing it," He licked his lips, "You should be grateful for that. For I, Rudi, protected you."
His smile deepened. "Your Highness..."
The figure inside the cage flinched. Golden eyes glared back at the man as if it wanted to kill him. The figure tried to lunge forward but was quickly pulled back by the shackles that held its hands.
"Oh my, don't be so impatient." The man pressed his fingers together, and a small flame illuminated the insides of the cage. Revealing the features of the figure that sat inside.
Pinkish white hair mixed with dirt—one side of the hair was tied in intricate patterns while the other lay opened. Her golden eyes shined in the light of the flame, holding pride and terror. Her frame is covered with a ragged and dirty cloth. Which, if cleaned, would've resembled the wear of a Royalty.
Her milk white skin was marked with a few scratches and bruises, showing the signs of struggle. But what separated her from the other captives was her long and point ears poking out from the strands of hair.
Showing her Elven lineage.
"You know how valuable you are?" The man said, looking her in the eyes, "The prices of races other than humans are very high. Including the elves."
The elf girl's gaze lowered her fists clenched, her lips parted in a whisper. "Fuck off..."
"Did you say something?" The man asked, cupping his ears with his hand, his voice mocking her.
"Fuck off!" She flared again, "Die, you brennkins!"
Her chest heaved in anger as she stared at the man, breaths coming in ragged gasps. Her strength was slowly fading as she had refused to eat food offered by the bandits.
"You are truly lucky, you know? If you were just a normal human being with no value," His eyes darkened, "We would've raped you and killed you. After that, your organs would've been harvested to be sold."
"So don't get on my nerves, knife-ear"
He stood up from his place and flicked the small fire away, heading next for the rack of weapons that was hung on the stone wall.
Aeris lowered her head. Her state was awful, she was only there for talks of marriage with the prince of Eldorwen.
Her sister, the 1st High Elven Princess of Thaloreon Kingdom, Maerina Illya Thaloreon and the 1st Wood Elven Prince of Eldorwen, Vaerion Lethariel Eldorwen, were tied to a political marriage. It was decided by the Royalty of both the kingdoms to tie their bloodlines together.
To solve the territorial issues that had plagued the two kingdoms for a few years.
But who would've known that her fate was to be sold off like this? By those petty Humans or Brennkins, as the term in their language.

'No, I should've seen it coming...' Tears fell from her eyes as she remembered the gaze of her mother and father—Their indifferent and unloving gazes as they looked down on her, compared her to her sister. Who was perfect in all aspects.
Whereas, Aeris—she was just a shame. She was weak, meek and only found her solace in books of alchemy or research, unlike her outgoing sister. Who was strong and, according to her parents, The True Princess of Thaloreon.
And Aeris's mana insensitivity did not help her either. She was not able to sense and use mana, which was already considered a taboo among the high elves, who were known as beings gifted with mana.
That is why it did not take long for the guards to abandon her to her fate. They did not even look back at her as the carriage that carried her sister drove away from her further. The only one who looked back at her was her elder sister.
'No... They are happy... happy to see that I, a stain in the form of an elf, was removed.'
Tears fell from her eyes as she recalled all the humiliation she had to face at ceremonies or special occasions.
'Isn't there someone? Who can save me? Who can believe in me?'
Boooom!
Before Aeris could ponder further, an explosion sounded across the whole room. Her head snapped upwards, looking towards the entrance of the room she was held captive.
The door was blasted from its hinges, smoke covering the entrance where a shadowy figure flickered.
"What the fuck?!" The man named Rudi recoiled, his hands raised upwards in a stance. Flames erupted from them as he clenched his fists.
"Who is there?!" Rudi demanded, barking at the figure who stood inside the smokescreen. His silhouette flickered as he moved forward.
But before Rudi could do anything, lightning crackled around the figure, and waves of energy oozed out from him that sent a shiver down Rudi's spine.
Even though Aeris could not sense mana but she could tell—tell that the figure was releasing high amounts of mana in his surrounding. The purple lightning crackled around his form, slowly dispelling the smoke around him.
[Thorvian's Descent]
A spell echoed across the room, followed by a flash of purple light that blinded everything else. But as soon as it came, the faster it went. The room became normal again, with no energy leaking out.
Rudi stood still, his hands raised upwards. But Aeris noticed something weird about him—A thin line of lavender that drew from his groin to his head.
"Well, that was the last one."
The figure walked in, his features lighting themselves up in the dim lights of the lantern. Wheat Blonde hair tied in a low ponytail, his cold silver eyes swept across the room and finally landed on Aeris.
His physique was not too big nor too small, with broad shoulders covered by his black half cloak and the fur clothes that we wore. The lines of his face were sharp, giving the man a handsome look.
'An Elf?' Aeris thought to herself as she locked her gaze with the man.
But that thought was soon interrupted by the splattering sound of blood. Her head snapped back to the place where Rudi stood, his entire body cleaved in half. His insides pouring outside, settling on the blood.
Her eyes widened as she tried to move, but the shackles did not allow her to, holding her in place.
'He is dangerous!' Her mind screamed.
But before she could do anything, another flash occurred, this time cutting the door of her cage.
"Pardon the intrusion," The man said, stepping inside the cage. His silver eyes locked on her as he made his way towards her.
Aeris flinched as a man knelt beside her, his hand moved towards the shackles that held her. His blade covered in blade flashed again, slicing through the restraints, freeing Aeris's hands.
The man stood up, his hands extending towards her. "Can you stand?"
Aeris did not reply; her trembling hands reached for that man's. He held her with a firm grip, pulling her up.
"My name is Noah Von Blitzfeld," The man said, his voice calm as if he did not just cut a man in half, "And yours?"
Aeris looked at him with doubt in her eyes but, in the end, decided to tell him her name.
"I am Aeris Illya Thaloreon, 2nd Princess of The Thaloreon Kingdom."
