Chapter 364: Mei Mei on Tea with a princess....1

In the evening, Mei Mei left work with her assistant and they went to the Phoenix building. A place she had not been to in such a long time.

It had been renovated on the inside and the first floor had been turned into an in door park for employees to use as a relaxation spot.

She stopped by for a one minute visit, waving and smiling at the old employees whose faces she was familiar with. She even got hugs from some that were excited to see her once again.

As she made her way through other floors of the building to greet old friends, her eyes got a little watery as old memories were resurrected to the surface. This was especially after some of them did the old move of hiding their paperwork so that she would not touch it.

It made her laugh.

Twenty nine years and people had still not forgotten the destructive hands from her childhood! But she was an adult now and did not to tear or doodle on paperwork anymore.

She entered the producers room for the Tea with a princess team and people cheered.

"Look what kind of rare fish from the sea the wind blew our way!!" PD Rao commented when he saw her.

He was a man with a tongue that was even more poisonous than Jingzhe’s. Only a handful of people could stand to work with him because he demanded perfection. But, he was great at his job so even when they were cautious, they still chose him when they needed him.

His hair was dyed blue and he was wearing glasses. He had also lost some of the weight which he had when she last saw him.

"You look nice and fit." She commented.

PD Rao touched his belly and patted it. "The CEO and Chairwoman put me on a strict diet, If I still want to work, I must be healthy."

"He had a heart replacement five years ago." A technical director leaned back in the chair and shouted the truth out loudly while poking a fork into a steaming cup of noodles. "His blood pressure was also through the roof."

"And he was sending our blood pressure through the roof in return." The project manager revealed. "Then he had a heart attack when we were in the middle of filming this very show."

Mei Mei gasped.

"He was told to change his lifestyle, lower his stress, eat healthier, rest at the right time, and be nicer to us."

PD Rao snorted, "I am not nice to them."

"He does not call Haena the singer "Hyena" anymore." The Technical director shared.

Mei Mei gasped again.

"So there had been less fighting during the production of The Voice."

PD Rao slammed a clip board down on the table. "Jun Meilin, why are you standing out here gossiping? You have wasted thirty minutes that were allocated to make-up time. Do you think I have become a toothless dog just because I cannot bark anymore? Hurry up and take yourself to the make up room before I push you there with a mop."

Mei Mei covered her mouth and giggled. PD Rao had not raised his voice!! He had spoken calmly. The vicious dog had really become toothless!.

"Wow!" she exclaimed.

People laughed.

PD Rao picked up an actual mop with a long handle. So, she turned around and hurried away. Thirty two minutes later, in a plain white suit with gold hair pins holding her hair up, she sat across from her aunt and waved at the live audience of Tea with a princess.

"Show of hands, how many of you have been waiting for me to bring her out here?" Rize asked the audience.

Every hand went up.

Rize laughed and turned to Mei Mei. "You just might be the most anticipated guest of the year. Your went from having your heart and life stomped on, almost being murdered, being shamed and dragged through the media, starting a business, divorcing to winning the Vermillion Derby."

The audience applauded.

"I have been a busy girl." Mei Mei laughed.

Some people in the audience chuckled.

"Congratulations on winning by the way." Princess Rize smiled warmly at Mei Mei.

"Thank you." Mei Mei answered amidst an applause from the audience and images of her receiving her cup and hugging the Emperor sliding on a screen behind them.

Rize uncrossed her legs. "I know that not many people thought that you would win because you had not raced professionally in close to a decade and you signed up for the race at the last minute when other racers had spent months training. Why did you sign up at all?"

"My mom made me." She answered.

The audience cackled. Rize and Mei Mei also laughed.

PD Rao was smiling proudly. He had told her to say that line. Princess Ruoxi was also smiling, she had arranged some of the questions her aunt would be asking.

"I think I have heard my daughter say that to her friends or relatives on a few occasions. I think she should listen to me more often because I am always right...mostly." Rize giggled. "Aren’t you glad that you listened to your mother and signed up for the race?" She looked at the audience and said, "Clap if you think she made the right choice."

The audience did not just clap, they applauded too.

Mei Mei also clapped.

Rize calmed the audience and turned her head back to Mei Mei. "Okay, okay...we should start from the very beginning. The return of a space pilot."

"Ooooh." Some people in the audience a unanimous sound of intrigue.

Mei Mei nodded, she had been waiting for this to begin.

Rize leaned forward, a more serious look on her face. "Everyone here has seen that video, I believe. We will not be playing it unless we must. Just tell us what was going through your mind when you met your husband and discovered that he had brought back a mistress and a son from space."

Mei Mei sighed. "I wanted to say something funny but nothing comes to mind right now so I will just say the truth.

I was thinking that I am a solid metal wall. I was convincing myself that it did not hurt and I was okay.

I was thinking about the flowers. I needed to pick up the flowers because they were on the floor and yet I could not bring myself to bend and pick them up.

Then I was shoved down and all I could see were camera flashes and I wanted to disappear. But then I thought that I needed to hurry home and get to my daughter before she heard the news from a friend or a neighbor.

I so badly want to tell everyone here that I was okay on that day but I was not."
