In the morning, when Mei Mei opened her eyes, the first thing that crossed her eyes made her gasp and scramble awake rather quickly.

It was Jingzhe.

It was naked Jingzhe!!

"Damn male vixen!" She growled and threw a pillow at him.

He turned around and caught it.

She covered her eyes. "Shameless man, how can you walk around like that?"

Jingzhe looked at himself and he smirked. "This is our bedroom and the door is locked. I am in great shape and well developed everywhere so I have nothing to be ashamed of. Sister, you should be proud of me."

Mei Mei scoffed and lowered her hands. He had already pulled up the sweat pants and he was pulling a shirt over his head. "How many sweat pants do you own?"

"Almost as many as the suits I own." He answered. "My mother changes them monthly so I am not sure. I don’t even know what brands they are?"

Mei Mei looked at the logo on the front pocket. Before she could make it out, he dove onto the bed and wrapped his arms around her.

"Sister, you slept for an entire evening and a whole night. You did not wake up even I brought a chicken thigh and passed it over your nose."

She had zero clue about why he did that. Chicken thighs were not exactly her favorite food. That kind of temptation only worked on General Big Yellow.

"Your childhood dog and cat are here for a visit." He mentioned. "And all the family members that are in the neighborhood. They wanted to celebrate the return of a champion last night but the champion was missing so breakfast is being turned into a wine tasting slash tea party slash early morning brunch."

She tapped his toned arms a few times, "I should shower and go downstairs in that case. It will be rude to keep everyone waiting."

Jingzhe held her tighter, like he planned to never let her go. "I don’t want to let go. Mother-in-law did not allow me and Mingzhu to sleep here last night. She secretly slept in your bed. Mingzhu slept with Jun Yi and Lian. I slept on your balcony and sneaked inside as soon as your mom left." He smiled like a troublemaker. "I even locked the door."

She rolled her eyes. Why did it sound like he was competing with her mother for affection? "Let’s go on a date tonight. What do you think?"

He raised his head, eyes filled with joy. "I would love that. We have not been on a date since you started training for the race."

She kissed him on top of his head. "A Zhe, darling. Thank you for being patient with me."

He had stayed and taken care of Mingzhu while she was in E city, training at the farm. He took her to the office every while in a while and they had father-daughter dates every other day. They took Tofu on walks to the park in the stroller and recorded reactions of everyone that realized it was an owl inside, not a baby.

When Mingzhu went for play dates in he neighborhood, he went along with her if madam Feng was busy. Wherever she was, as long as he could work remotely, he followed her.

Having him and her family looking after her daughter had kept her calm and focused on the task of training.

He let her go so she went to the bathroom and showered. After changing her clothes she went straight to the garden where laughter and pastry smells along with hungry pets and curious ones waited for her.

One big banner was tied between two trees. It had a picture of her and Thunder Muyang.

Some people had glasses of wine, others cups of tea. Children were sitting around tables, eating their breakfast. One of the tables held her trophy and a three tier red velvet and black tea chocolate cake.

It had been baked by Jingzhe. Madam Feng had told everyone to take a break from cheese cakes. This had not stopped those that desired to eat them from breaking into the kids animal shaped cheesecakes.

As with most celebrations held by the Jun family, the Chi’s were always around as were a few royals. Junjie and his daughters were there.

No surprise, the grand emperor, empress dowager and empress mother had also come. In fact it seemed like half of the royal family had showed up, including the Cyprian princess.

In the mixture were her friends and uncles and aunties from other families.

"Dad." She shouted and waved.

Muyang broke away from his friends and hurried to Mei Mei. "You are finally here my baby girl. I’ve been waiting to see you since yesterday evening. Your mother would not let me go anywhere near your bedroom because she was afraid that I would wake you."

"We both know you would have done so." She told him as she gave him a hug. "Pa, thank you for staying with me during training and encouraging me to keep going. I have left you a gift in the living room. Hurry up and hide it before mother sees it and confiscates it."

As he rushed into the house to see his gift, Chi Lian handed Tofu to Jun Yi and jumped into the house through the kitchen window.

While Mei Mei started receiving congratulatory words and gifts, Chi Lian cut Muyang off in the backyard where he was trying to sneak a very large box away. It looked like it was holding a giant tv screen.

He could not balance it on his own and a robot butler was helping him.

"Honey, what is this?" she asked him in a suspicious voice.

Muyang’s eyes darted from side to side. "Nothing." He answered softly.
