Chapter 318: The success of brunch.

Jingzhe frowned as he was not sure where the question was coming from.

"Because you sound a little like him when you are explaining facts." Qin Yan explained the reason behind his questioning.

"Have you ever considered teaching?" Duan Siping asked Jingzhe.

Jingzhe blinked. In the past, he did some teaching but it was online and it was for money. Standing in front of a class to pass on knowledge, that was not a thing he had ever considered doing.

Duan Siping handed Jingzhe a business card. "The university where I work is a new branch of Eastern Royal University which is still hiring professors and teaching assistants. You are a genius, I am sure that there is something for you.

I heard from Miss Meihua that you are highly educated and even have a doctorate. She also mentioned that you are still studying. If you join us, the university will waive all your tuition and you can study anything you want."

Jingzhe frowned.

Duan Siping grabbed his arm. "Brother, you can even choose your own teaching hours and days so you won’t have to be at the university all the time. You are a business man, it is understandable that you are busy. The school will take that into consideration."

The mimosas Lord Jang had ordered for were delivered.

Capital Prince was shaking his head meanwhile. "Is this a job fair? You are so enthusiastic in inviting him but you have forgotten that he is a billionaire. Even the salary you offer him will not be tempting enough."

But he was wrong, Jingzhe was tempted. In the little time he had spent with Jun Muyang, he had noticed that the man loved his job and thought the teaching profession was a noble one. It made Jingzhe curious about what satisfaction the man drew from teaching. Maybe it would not be so bad to try it and see.

While he was considering this, the women next door were frowning as they had not heard laughter in a while. Was it going well or not?

Two more hours passed and some of the women fell asleep and those that were still awake still heard no laughter. The men were talking but it did not sound like they were bonding.

Mei Mei sighed like a worried mother that had given up all hope on her child coming home with a new best friend after the first day of school.

Rose rolled her eyes and looked away from the laptop she was using to work. "Stop sighing Meilin. For heaven sake! it is just brunch between our men, not some kind of important political meeting between heads of state that will decide if our nations go to war or not."

Zhilan snored loudly and threw hand over Meihua’s face. The two were sleeping next to each other on a pullout couch that they had paid for and ordered to be put in the room. This particular private room had been their shared private room for six years now.

The royal kitchen did not mind because the room was paid for and they got their money whether it was used or not. Also there were six more such private rooms in the large restaurant which were booked all year.

Ignoring her friend’s snores, Mei Mei decided to fix the situation by going over directly to check on the men. As she stormed out of the private room as if someone had angered her, Rose sighed.

"She is twenty nine years old and I am still running after her." She huffed. Being a big sister was a job that never ended.

Quickly, Rose followed Mei Mei to the private room next door. Duan Siping’s voice seeped through the half open door as a waitress was pushing a food cart out.

"We should do this again next week." he suggested.

"I would like that." Jingzhe said.

"But we should not tell our wives that we are meeting because they will be too excited and give us that "I am always right," look." Lord Jang suggested.

The men laughed, and none clarified that not all of them were married.

Mei Mei stopped short and turned to Rose. It had gone well, too well that the men were planning to start meeting on their own. There was no reason for her to worry about Jingzhe being left out, which had been Madam Feng’s biggest worry.

"Finally I can head to the office Rose muttered." She raised her voice and pushed the door fully open. "Mr. Jang, time to put down the mimosas and pick up our son from soccer practice."

Mei Mei followed Rose. "A Zhe, time to fly me to go to the space camp. The Tao group researchers will be arriving in forty minutes."

The ladies went inside and greeted the other men as they picked up theirs. Less than ten seconds after they went inside, the rest of the women came to pick up their men too. As soon as the couples went their separate ways, each man found himself being grilled about the brunch.

"So, how did it go?" Mei Mei asked Jingzhe as the flying car joined the right lane. "Did you make any friends?"

Jingzhe was sitted in the driver’s seat but he had set the car on self driving mode. The fingers of his left hand were intertwined with Mei Mei’s right ones. He had a slight smile on his face, not too obvious though as he did not want to give himself away.

"It was so-so." he answered.

Mei Mei held in the urge to laugh. If she had not heard the men planning another secret brunch, she would believe him.

"Only so-so, huh!" She replied skeptically.

Jingzhe’s lips twisted and made a little pout. "It went better than most play dates my mother arranged for me as a child. At least this time, nobody pulled any pranks on me or ignored me."

Mei Mei’s enthusiasm dampened. Her mind drew images of Jingzhe squatting in a corner by himself while other children played on like he was invisible.

"Meihua’s fiance is nice but a little shy." Jingzhe shared his opinion on Duan Siping. "I don’t know if this is weird but he is the first man that I have met who happens to like pottery. When he shared this, it made me wonder how possible it is that I have never met a potter."

"Easy," She answered. "Have you ever gone shopping for ceramics in a pottery shop?"

He shook his head and frowned. "I have never gone shopping for ceramics anywhere. My mother does most of the household shopping at home and the office mugs and things like that, I have my assistant take care of."

"There you go." She replied. "Actually I have never been inside a pottery making shop as well. Maybe we should go...."

Jingzhe smiled. "Ming....."

"As a couple." Mei Mei shouted quickly.
