Lady Meilin is seduced by her green tea brother-in-law everyday-Chapter 309: You are not a monkey.
Mei Mei raised her hand and slapped him gently on the back and shouted at him. "Do not use that beauty trick on me, I will not fall for it this time. You knew he had a knife and you still confronted him. What were you thinking? What if he stabbed you to death?"
Jingzhe was smiling a fool. All he heard in her voice was affection and care. If she did not care, she would not be shouting at him the way she was doing.
She was just like his mother. On so many occasions, she had bandaged his wounds while scolding him for fighting back against Mo Liang instead of running away and finding a place to hide. This was when he was still a kid.
He tried to hug Mei Mei but she hissed at him so he drew back, withdrawing like a dog which had been scolded. He looked down and pretended to whimper.
"Tch," Mei Mei rolled her eyes. "Don’t try the sad puppy on me, it won’t work right now. He had a knife Jingzhe. A knife!!!
That bastard Mo Liang is so crafty and I am sure that he would not have hesitated to stab you to get his way. Next time you run into such a situation A Zhe, run away as soon as you find a gap.
If something happens at home, we have a robot butler, a dog, a wolf and a tiger. Find one and throw it at your enemy. Any of them can bite him to death."
Jingzhe grabbed her hands and looked at her, blinking nervously as he looked at her through watery eyes that begged for mercy. "Sister, I have heard you."
Mei Mei rolled her eyes. "Now you know how to cry. You idiot, maybe Mingzhu should teach you how to fight back so that you are not punched next time."
Jingzhe wondered truly if she had not noticed the injuries on Mo Liang. If she had, she would not be saying this.
"Whose blood was that all over the floor?" She asked him.
"His." Jingzhe replied. "I made him so angry that he vomited blood. I told him Mingzhu would be a princess in future and his veins bulged. His face was so red that I thought steam would escape out of his ears."
Mei Mei laughed. Oh, how she would have loved to see that! Mo Liang was certain to be regretting his decisions right now.
"I wonder how he got into the estate." She said in a small curious voice.
"He sneaked in by hiding in the trunk of one of the cars which belonged to the Xiao family which lives in that bright orange house that my mother says is an offense to our eyes." Jingzhe shared.
He knew this because the schedule of the Xiao family’s chef was also fed to Mo Liang by Chi Lian. Everyday at the same time, the chef went to the farmers market to buy fresh ingredients. Mo Liang had waited and hidden in the trunk of the car.
Because the chef’s schedule was one the guards at the gate were familiar with, they had waved the car inside without bothering to check it.
"That damn leech." Mei Mei whispered. She rubbed medicine on the bruise on Jingzhe’s face with tight lips. Mo Liang was probably jealous of Jingzhe’s nice face and that was why he aimed at it.
She raised her head because there was something even more unbelievable that she had forgotten about. "I cannot believe that he dared to ask for shares in Huaqi!!! The entitlement of that man. How is Huaqi related to him in the first place?"
Jingzhe was playing with the pins which were holding Mei Mei’s hair up. "Sister, you have not yet kissed it better." He pulled one of the pins out and a part of her hair fell down, covering the left side of her face. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
Even though she growled at him playfully, he pulled out another and all of her hair fanned her face that was inclined downwards as she placed a cooling patch on the bruise to bring down the swelling.
The door to the bedroom was suddenly opened with a blast and no knock. Before they could complain, Mingzhu marched in with her wooden sword like a general that had come to battle an enemy.
"Dad, dad...." She rushed to Jingzhe, "Mingzhu has brought you a sword to beat the bad guys next time."
Jingzhe leaned away from Mei Mei and caught Mingzhu as she leaped from the ground once and threw herself at him. One of her knees his ribs and knocked the wind out of him.
Pretend pain had turned into real pain.
Mei Mei pinched Mingzhu’s ear. "This child, how many times must I remind you not to leap on your dad whenever you see him? You are the number one cause of bruises on his body."
Mingzhu wrapped her hands around Jingzhe’s neck. "But daddy likes it when I jump like that. He said I look like a little cute frog."
Jingzhe, the ever indulgent father agreed wholeheartedly. "Mmm, our Mingzhu is the the cutest frog in the house."
"We already have one frog in the house, a real one." Mei Mei mumbled. "And frogs are not cute." She added. Looking at her daughter, she arched one brow and said sternly, "And you, young lady. We went to the royal palace after the funeral to show our support not for you to climb trees in the rain. What were you thinking Mingzhu? You could have fallen and broken your neck, do you know that? You are not a monkey Mingzhu and your behavior is not fit for a young lady."
She had almost had a heat attack when she heard royal attendant and agents begging a princess to come out of the tree.
Initially, she had not paid much attention to it but when she heard them call Princess Mingzhu specifically, the whole world stopped for a moment.
"You climbed a tree in the royal palace!" Jingzhe bellowed in surprise.
Mingzhu nodded. "It had many big fat mangoes and I wanted to pick one for you, one for mommy, one for grandma Feng, one for grandma Chi, one for sister Lian, one for brother Ming, one for great grandma..."
Mei Mei stopped her by covering her fingers because if Mingzhu named everyone in their large family, she would run out of fingers soon.
"My good daughter, you climbed a tree to get me a mango.." Jingzhe hugged Mingzhu tighter. "What would your dad do without you? Dad would starve to death."
Madam Feng paused in the doorway and she looked at the tray with three cups of hot chocolate that she was delivering since they had all been caught out in the rain.
Behind her, Su mama was also carrying a tray with small snacks that could be munched on before lunch was officially started.
"How have I starved this brat?" she muttered.
