Lady Meilin is seduced by her green tea brother-in-law everyday-Chapter 304: Teaching Jingzhe to ride a horse.
Jingzhe was still reluctant to admit the truth and he hid his response between little coughs. "I....am..." he coughed and cleared his throat as if he was chocking on popcorn.
Mei Mei rolled her eyes.
[Urgent mission: Give the green tea his first horse riding lesson.
Reward: Four new racing horses from a superior unknown breed.
Punishment: Slap yourself ten times on the cheek.]
"Oh come on." She mumbled. The punishment was ridiculous but the reward, she definitely wanted the reward.
She had sold all of her horses when she was raising funds for Space M and feeding the Mo family. Four horses that were of a superior breed was a wonderful gift. This was the kind of reward which would motivate her to work harder.
She got down from her horse and urged him to do the same. He struggled like a puppy that was learning how to walk and she had to intervene and help him.
Mei Mei had stolen two apples from her mother’s pocket in the barn and she gave both horses one.
She pulled on Jingzhe’s hand and encouraged him to pat the head of the horse he had been riding. She stood behind him, with one hand on his waist and the other over his hand that was patting the horse.
"He is gentle this one. You can see it in his eyes that he is a harmless soul." Mei Mei told him. "But that does not mean he is not judging you. He can smell your fear or hesitation and that is why he is acting like he is in charge."
Jingzhe’s brain was multitasking. A part of him was listening to her, another was concentrating on the horse, a third was feeling the warmth of her hand that was resting on his waist and the last was wondering if people would judge them if he kissed her right where they stood.
"I am going to teach you how to be a good horse rider. First, you need to mount the horse." She told him.
Jingzhe had already done this once and he was confident that he could do it again without help so he started while she was still talking.
"Left foot in the stirrup and then swing your right leg over." Mei Mei instructed. "If you cannot do it, I will help you up or we will..."
Suddenly she heard a noise and saw Jingzhe sliding back down and becoming a permanent guest of gravity on the ground.
The horse he was mounting eyed him judgmentally and let out a huff.
Ali neighed and huffed as well as if to say that she was not impressed.
"It was the hat." Jingzhe claimed.
"Sure baby." Mei Mei laughed. "Why don’t we just say the ground needed a hug? That is what I told Mingzhu the first time I took her horse riding and she fell down. Let’s try again...up, up, up."
She hoisted him up and he made a second attempt. Jingzhe made it into the saddle and Mei Mei clapped her hands. She handed him a candy like a teacher rewarding a child for doing a great job in class.
Jingzhe beamed like a fool as he out the candy away proudly. "Next time, I will not fall."
Mei Mei moved on to his posture. He was sitting too rigidly like a soldier at attention. "Relax baby, I am not a detective and you are not a criminal."
"This is not the safest place to sit." He said.
The horse snorted.
"See?" Jingzhe said. "Even the horse knows this."
Mei Mei refused to give up. "If you relax, we can take a shower shower together before bed."
Gravity invited Jingzhe for another visit and he hugged the grass again. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Mei Mei slapped her forehead.
The horse huffed.
Ali laughed and galloped playfully around them in circles.
A third attempt started and it was smooth. Jingzhe mounted quickly and he was very relaxed. He relaxed so much that he hunched over like a professional rider. "Sister, I am relaxed." He shouted.
Mei Mei laughed. "I can see that. You are doing great. Now let’s go on a walk." She mounted Ali and encouraged Jingzhe to walk his horse slowly alongside hers.
Like Jingzhe’s horse was determined to make things difficult for him, rather than walk it bounced slowly. Jingzhe also bounced and held on tightly. "Mei Mei..."
"You are doing great, just keep up with the rhythm." She told him. "Remember, you are the rider and he is the ride. Of you can fly a car, you can ride a horse."
"Cars are smart enough not to jostle humans into other dimensions." He replied.
"And horses give you the freedom most cars don’t." She retorted, "Just go with it. Up-down, up-down!"
Jingzhe muttered up-down as if was counting steps of a dance. Pretty soon, he was doing it with ease. By the time they made it halfway to the race track, he was relaxed and the horse was more well behaved. It was walking slowly without trying any theatrics.
"See, I knew you would do it." Mei Mei praised him.
Jingzhe grinned broadly. "Is there any way we can take a picture of this for my mum to see?"
"The race track has cameras, I will get pictures and a video later." She answered. In her mind she said, "C4, pictures and a video, you take care of it."
[Congratulations host on finishing your mission. Your reward is being sent to your house.]
Mei Mei squealed. Happiness burst through her and she nearly slipped off the back of the horse.
Jingzhe smiled. He assumed that she was happy because he was riding so well. "Five more lessons and I will be racing alongside you like a professional." He said.
Mei Mei raised an eyebrow. "You won’t give up?"
He shook his head. "I never give up on the things I start, especially when they are related to you."
If he had given up on her and thrown in the towel, they would not be together now. Nothing and nobody would deter him from mission Meilin.
They rode the horses back to the barn and the lesson officially ended successfully.
Mei Mei still had fans among the employees, those who remembered her from her old riding days. Some asked for autographs and others took pictures with her.
Jingzhe remained on the side and watched with a proud smile on his face until they all departed. Then, she took his hand and led him back to the royal castle.
When he saw Prince Long Wu walking behind Mingzhu as if he was personal bodyguard, he hissed. "I hate that kid." he muttered.
And it was not just because the young prince was officially Mingzhu’s betrothed, it was also because the twelve year old had a fiance while he did not.
It was not fair!!
He spread his arms and Mingzhu leaped into them. Then he smirked at Long Wu as he turned around and carried Mingzhu away with a "hmph."
