Lady Meilin is seduced by her green tea brother-in-law everyday-Chapter 253: The mediation has failed.
The mediation had been going on for hours and there was no satisfactory result. Accusations were being hurled back and forth, coats had been stripped, buttons had been opened and almost everyone was fanning themselves manually.
There was no more use of strong language after strong cautioning from mediator Wei. Mei Mei was not pulling any punches and she was sharing all the foul things that Mrs. Sun had done. Some of which her lawyers had dug up from talking to the maids and old neighbors.
Mei Mei was going through the list and tossing out the accusations, one after the other.
"Your mother is a psycho that threw a puppy over a balcony and killed it. She should have been arrested and sent to a mental institute long before now,"
Just as it had been with almost everything that was shared with in this mediation, this new revelation left everyone in shambles.
Mo Liang leaned forward. "My mother is an elderly woman that can barely throw a ball. How could she have thrown a puppy?"
Chi Lian slapped the table. "I am an elderly woman volunteering to throw your elderly mother out of this window right now."
"She traumatized my daughter. That puppy was hers." Mei Mei thundered.
"You did not get my permission to bring a dangerous animal into our house. My mother was defending Minghzu." Mo Liang claimed.
Mei Mei huffed. "Lunatics, the both of you.And your mother is not that old, she runs a TikTok channel on Fitness dancing for women 50 and over."
The lawyers presented evidence like they had been expecting this to come up.
Master Wei sighed. "As horrendous as Mrs. Sun’s actions were, they have no bearing to the exercise going on right now."
"It speaks to character." A police officer said.
His helpful comment was not appreciated by mediator Wei.
Chi Lian on the hand loved it and added, "Yes, a psycho character of an assistant serial killer. First they kill animals and then they scale up to humans. Mrs. Sun started by killing puppies and then she moved to my daughter. Who knows how many other neighbors human and animal she has killed?"
Mediator Wei had no comments and his colleague had yet to say a word. She was just sitting there, fanning herself and secretly peeking at her phone.
Their lawyer decided to try a defense. "Mrs. Sun was raised in era where killing dogs was not frowned upon. While her actions are immoral, they are not exactly criminal."
"Which era is that?" Chi Liana asked him.
The lawyer opened his mouth, closed it and grimaced. He was just realizing that he had no idea when Mrs. Sun had been born or how old she was. He lowered his head and smoothed his forehead.
Two lawyers on Mei Mei’s side secretly fist bumped under the table. When this went to trial, they were going to eat this lawyer alive.
"Amateur." Someone mumbled.
Mrs. Sun was tired of being on the receiving end of accusations nonstop. "It was not poison, it was an ingredient for medicinal soup."
The lawyer raised his head eagerly. "Yes, yes, my client was raised in an era where medicinal soups were common. She had no idea that the unknown ingredient would cause damage to Miss Jun Meilin."
Suddenly, Chi Lian slammed a bowl on the table and unwrapped it. She got a small vial and poured some powder into the bowl.
Everyone was waiting to see where she was going with what she was doing. And they were hungry, whatever was in the bowl smelled appetizing.
Chi Lian slid the bowl across that table and left it in front of the lawyer. "This is medicinal soup and I just added an unknown ingredient. Try it." She dared him with her eyes.
The lawyer backed away. She had been screaming about poison while showing off those vials. Why would he risk his life by drinking this soup?
"I am not hungry." he pushed it away.
"Its medicine." Chi Lian smiled coldly.
The lawyer tugged at his tie. "I am not sick either and even if I was, I would not drink random medicinal soup that was not approved by a licensed doctor or nutritionist."
Nine lawyers on Mei Mei’s words were recording those words and they were mocking the rookie lawyer with their eyes. It was their sincerest hope that this was who represented Mo Liang at the trial. With such a lawyer. they could have him sentenced to life in prison with ease.
Mo Liang’s lawyer meanwhile seemed to realize the fumble he had made and his face turned red. "What I mean is that I would not drink such soup if a stranger offered it to me. Jun Meilin and Mrs. Sun were not strangers."
Mediator Wei groaned. The police officers also reacted. Some rotated in circles, one whispered ’shut up’, another faced the wall and a fourth massaged his temples.
"Mrs. Sun, soup aside, we should discuss what happened after our client was shoved into a coffee table by your grandson Mo Hao." One of Mei Mei’s lawyers raised a different subject.
Mediator Wei jumped in. "I believe that everyone here has seen the video and we all think that it was very....." He shook his head as he looked at Mrs. Sun and Mo Liang, "You made some bad decisions that really don’t portray you in the best light." He turned his head to Mei Mei and Lady Chi. "None the less, it is a part of my job to ask if there is any form of compensation that can be made to lighten your rage. Perhaps a monetary compensation, an apology in front of the media...anything."
Chi Lian tapped the table. "They did not even bother to check if she was breathing before deciding to throw her body in a bathroom and start getting rid of evidence."
Jun Muyang just punched the table, causing it to squeak. "They did not even think about taking her to a hospital. If she was alive, they wanted to finish her off. If this bastard’s son did not bother showing up to the hospital to apologize, how can we forgive them? This is a waste of time, we only showed up to fulfill a legal obligation."
"We were scared. What did you expect us to do?" Mrs. Sun shouted.
"Call the police."
"Fly her to a hospital."
"Not plan throw her body in a bathroom and turn on the hot water."
A number of responses came from a number of voices.
"I was just trying to protect my son." Mo Liang defended himself. "Every parent in the world will understand me."
The parents in the room begged to disagree with their silence.
Even Mediator Wei could see that this was a waste of time. Hours had passed and not one apology had been heard, just excuses. "The mediation has failed, lets just call it a day."
"We will be seeking a criminal trial." Lawyer Fu, on Mei Mei’s side declared.
