Chapter 178: Mingzhu and Mei Mei’s birthday boogie.
Everyone could only sigh and look up when they received the notification about the peep star’s post. How did the paparazzo do it? Nobody had had time to up load the fight video online or even bothered to record it.
"Damn, does the peep star have invisible cameras or something?" Jun Lei looked around suspiciously. He even started pawing at the air as of he could catch something.
"I haven’t seen any flies around so we cannot even assume that it is a fly." Chi Wei sighed. "What insects are too small to be noticed?"
"Has anyone considered the fact that the peep star is an organization with really great hackers that could just be hacking into the security footage?" Princess Rize asked.
Many heads turned to the cameras on the property. Some were facing out and others in. It was not impossible that the peep star had really peeped in.
"Maybe we should determine the angle from which the pictures where taken and determine where the peep star was hiding a camera?" Jun Yi suggested.
Her suggestion excited most of the adults and the children too. It had the makings of a treasure hunt, a game!
"No..no, absolutely not." Mei Mei grabbed a microphone and said this into it. "We are celebrating Mingzhu’s tea party. We can unveil the peep star another time. Besides, think about it, if the peep star is gone, how will we know what is going on in the lives of our celebrities, ministers, royal families all around the world and more. The cake is here, let us sing and clap as Mingzhu blows out the candles."
With a few grumbles, most of the guests settled down. Chi Zhenzhu grabbed the microphone and everyone that knew of her frog like singing voice cried silently. Nevertheless, she croaked out the notes to a happy birthday song, proudly made a mic drop gesture and grabbed a popper.
Mingzhu cut the cake amidst cheers and then another feast was declared open.
"Nobody should over eat, tomorrow is Lian’s birthday so there will be more cake." Rose loudly reminded everyone. "Cotton candy flavored cake from Hua Qi. A never before publicized flavor. All the children here are welcome to join us, just make sure that you pick up an invitation from my assistant."
Rose’s assistant Jang Fang stood up and waved at everyone with the elegance of a mister universe competitor. [Without the muscles, just a nice smile.]
After eating, Mei Mei and Mingzhu took to the stage to show off their mother-daughter dance. One that they did every year alone, on each other’s birthdays. Mingzhu insisted that they show it off to everyone.
They even had special outfits and a song. Mingzhu was wearing a tutu over an elf print onesie and Mei Mei who was dying of embarrassment was dressed in a similar outfit. On their heads were hats with large feathers that they could be mistaken for birds or bird nests.
"Now this is worth the trip." Chi Lian laughed from the first floor where she and Muyang were sitting in their invisible suits, attending the party secretly.
"You are going to share this aren’t you?" Muyang asked her.
Chi Lian snickered. Of course the mighty little peep star would be sharing it. The world needed to see it.
The dance started with some aggressive jazz hands from Mingzhu. Mei Mei followed, with rain falling jazz hands and knee wobbles.
"What the F are they doing?" Chi Zimo laughed.
"They are summoning the rain." Great great grandma Jun said while clutching her one tea pot that she had brought to the tea party like she was afraid the dancers would fall off the stage and do more damage than Long Shuang had done.
On stage, Mei Mei and Mingzhu were doing the electrocuted robot or the twitching robot, everyone was confused about what to call it.
"Did they step on live wires?" Mingzhe asked himself. freёnovelkiss.com
Mingzhu twirled. Mei Mei executed a perfect back flip, landing on her toes. She almost tipped over but she managed to stick it and everyone sighed in relief. Then, Mingzhu did a very exaggerated cat walk and stepped in front of Mei Mei and they did an opposite roll with their bodies, one moving left and the other right and then they would switch.
"She went from a ballerina to this!" Grandma Chi put a hand over mouth in shock. The smile on her face reported how much she was enjoying it.
Great grandpa Jun sighed. "Not just ballet but ballroom as well. She took all her training and taught our dear Mingzhu to dance like bouncing basketball."
The music changed into a rap and the dancers changed their moves, stomping the stage and clapping. They threw their hats into the crowd, stunning the family and guests.
Mei Mei caught her right foot with one hand and tried to do a dance move that was popular among teenagers lately. Something popped and she cried out, "My hip!"
Before help could be sent, she put her leg down and joined Mingzhu in a slow twirl as they came to the end of their dance.
"So do we applaud or get some ice for her hip." Su Manchu whispered to Rose.
Rose shrugged.
New music started to play and the dancing duo restarted their dance, inviting everyone to join them. However, everyone was reluctant considering that the dance mostly involved one making a fool of themselves. Great great grandpa Jun surprised everyone by standing up.
With a dramatic leap onto the stage which caused some gasps given his age, he joined the duo and they turned into a trio. He did not dance their moves but introduced his ballroom moves, taking Mingzhu’s hands and claiming her as his dance partner.
And just like that, the rest of the family joined them as well. Some dancing chaotically and others gracefully. The children pulled all of their reluctant parents to join in. Even General Big Yellow and other family pets came to take a look.
General Big Yellow was so excited that he started to spin like he was chasing after his tail.
The butler invited the head housekeeper to join him in a waltz which did not match the music being payed.
Luo Chuchu and Tao Xiaotong turned it into a competition like they did with everything.
Mei Mei was grabbed by Jingzhe and he convinced her to do a mild version of the tango.
"Is this the best party in history or what?" he asked her.
Mei Mei grinned, "Best party in world history."
"We should do it again next year." He suggested.
Mei Mei nodded. "Every year, we should do it every year until we die. When I am as old as my great great grandfather, I want to be as flexible and fun loving as he is."
The DJ changed the music from fast pace to slow. Rather than everyone taking a break, they just continued, most of them pairing together. Young and old, they swayed from side to side with smiles on their faces.
Muyang extended his hand to his wife, inviting her to dance. "You know that this weird Mingzhu and Mei Mei dance ritual will be a family tradition from now on."
"I am already ordering for costumes for everyone." She answered, and then laid her head on his chest.
