Kissed and Seduced By the Most Rough Man in the Village-Chapter 26: Want to Eat Little Educated Youth’s Meal? Go Eat Sh*t!
Jiang Yexun carried the things back home and happened to meet his family members returning from work. In the afternoon, only Jiang’s father, mother, and Jiang Yexun tasted the sweet soup Su Xiaoxiao had made. And the rest of the Jiang family members were completely ignored, so the expressions on the faces of Jiang’s elder brothers became even more unpleasant.
Especially when they saw the things Jiang Yexun was carrying in his hands, their expressions darkened further.
"Third younger brother, you’re not planning to make dinner for that Educated Youth Su, are you?" Jiang’s eldest brother asked with a displeased tone.
"Why do you care?" Jiang Yexun raised his eyes and gave him an unfriendly look, which silenced all of Jiang’s eldest brother’s grievances.
He could only snort in frustration and quickened his pace, entering the hall ahead of everyone else.
Team Leader Jiang, after taking a few puffs at his cigarette, exhaled a long sigh.
Ah, marrying an educated youth was troublesome, especially a delicate one like Su Xiaoxiao. She hadn’t even entered the house yet, and she was already causing so much trouble.
Jiang Yexun knew exactly what his father was thinking, but he didn’t care. Carrying the items, he went into the kitchen.
After washing his hands, he began to knead the dough and chop the filling. While Aunt Guo prepared dinner for the family, she also guided Jiang Yexun on how to prepare the filling.
"Next time, when you cook for Xiaoxiao, remember to prepare more," she casually reminded him.
Seeing Jiang Yexun frown and show some disagreement, Aunt Guo added, "I told you to prepare more so that you two can eat together. If you just deliver the food and come back, are you satisfied? If you stay and stand by the side watching Xiaoxiao eat, she won’t be able to take it."
"Alright," Jiang Yexun couldn’t help but smile at the thought of eating with the little educated youth.
"Look at you, acting all silly," Aunt Guo complained.
Their actions in the kitchen quickened. When dinner was ready, Aunt Guo brought it into the hall and then came out to help Jiang Yexun wrap dumplings.
Although there were whole-grain steamed buns, along with pickled vegetables, dried radishes, and thick sweet potato porridge on the table, Jiang’s eldest and second brothers and their families weren’t enjoying their meal.
Hu Yuezhen glanced at the kids and then at her second daughter-in-law, who was still in the early stages of pregnancy. She suddenly slammed her bowl onto the table, startling everyone.
"What are you doing?" Jiang’s eldest brother asked her angrily.
But Hu Yuezhen didn’t even look at him. She had red eyes as she stared at the silent Team Leader Jiang.
"Dad, it’s fine if the adults don’t eat well, but all three of your grandsons are still young, and your second daughter-in-law is pregnant. We’re all family, so why do we have to be so clear about everything?"
Team Leader Jiang paused while eating his bun. But he only raised his head to look at Jiang’s eldest sister-in-law and didn’t respond.
Jiang’s second brother felt somewhat guilty and smiled at his wife. "It’s because I’m not capable enough; I can’t let you and our kid eat well."
Team Leader Jiang felt uncomfortable and placed the bun back in his bowl and got up to go to the kitchen.
Hu Yuezhen was excited and wanted to follow him, but she was stopped by Jiang’s second sister-in-law.
"Forget it. Our third younger brother doesn’t like us. If we go up, he’ll throw a tantrum again," she advised.
"We’re all one family; why is he being so overbearing?" Hu Yuezhen grumbled but ultimately sat back down on her chair.
Team Leader Jiang walked to the kitchen with his hands behind his back and peered in to see his wife making dumplings.
"You guys have made quite a few dumplings today," he tried to start a conversation.
Aunt Guo rolled her eyes at him. "Yexun brought his own ingredients and of course, he can make as many as he wants. Unlike your eldest and second sons, who keep counting every piece they eat. They even take some from your bowl."
Team Leader Jiang felt a bit embarrassed as he touched his nose. "But they’ve given birth to three grandsons for the Jiang family. Boys need to grow up tall and strong; they can’t afford to eat less."
"If you want to feed them, I’m not stopping you. It’s between them and their mother to sort it out. Why should I listen to them? How does it become my fault?" Aunt Guo said irritably and pushed aside Team Leader Jiang, who had approached her.
In this matter, it was his eldest and second sons who were originally unreasonable. But both of them and their wives insisted on getting involved and demanded it to be sorted out clearly. There was nothing he could do.
"I didn’t say it’s your fault. I’m just saying that we should feed our three grandsons well. Regardless of how confused the adults may be, they are still our grandsons, as well as Yexun’s nephews," Team Leader Jiang frowned.
Aunt Guo picked up the kitchen knife and chopped it heavily on the cutting board. "What grandsons? What nephews? Their parents don’t show any respect for me. Yet you want me to rely on them in the future?"
Team Leader Jiang was startled, then frowned in displeasure. "Why are you being upset with little kids?"
"If they want dumplings, they can go buy them themselves. I told them to contribute six work points to bring back home, and they get to keep what’s left. One work point is worth six cents. The eldest and second eldest work ten work points each per day, and their wives earn eight work points each per day. Plus, the elder brothers’ children can help harvest hogweed, which is worth an additional four work points per day.
Altogether, one family can save 72 cents a day, which is 21.60 yuan a month. If they can’t even afford a meal of dumplings, why should you, as their father, come here complaining about being broke?" Aunt Guo couldn’t stand the eldest and second eldest families at all.
There was no problem with keeping clear accounts! If every transaction had to be calculated meticulously without any shady dealings, she would cast a favorable glance at these two families.
However, despite constantly saying that they wanted everything to be clear, they were always trying to take advantage of her and her son. If it weren’t for the fact that her husband had begged on his knees, she would have sent both of those families to prison long ago.
But they hadn’t behaved themselves for long before causing trouble again.
"But buying things like flour and meat needs more than just money. They don’t know as many people as Yexun, who has several friends in the city and can get tickets from them," Team Leader Jiang replied, growing somewhat irritated by the conversation. But he didn’t want to argue with her. He simply frowned and looked at Jiang Yexun.
But Jiang Yexun acted as if he hadn’t heard anything. He scooped out the cooked dumplings from the pot and put twelve in each of two blue-rimmed bowls. The rest were placed in a large enamel jar, which he covered with a lid and placed in a basket.
"Each of you gets one bowl; I don’t care who Dad wants to give his to," Jiang Yexun said. After he finished speaking, he picked up the basket and was ready to leave.
"Hold on!" Team Leader Jiang shouted angrily.
Jiang Yexun obediently stopped.
With his deep and cold eyes, he stared at his father.
