“Today was really fun again, Yujin, Angie.”

Before getting into the car, Georgina greeted them one after another, fixing her gaze on Yujin as she continued.

“Thanks for inviting me. I hope we can meet again next time.”

“I’ll send you an invitation, Georgina.”

Angela, as if waiting for this, spoke up, and Georgina smiled brightly in response.

“I’ll be waiting, Angie. I’m so curious what kind of Angie it will be next time!”

“Look forward to it! I haven’t decided yet, but it’ll be a surprise!”

Seeing the child’s cheeks shining with pride, Georgina almost gave in to the impulse to hug and shower her with kisses.

“How cute. Someday I might just kidnap Angie.”

Clenching her fists and saying that, Yujin’s eyes immediately widened. He knew it was a joke, but just hearing about kidnapping made his heart race. Sensing his reaction, Georgina hurriedly laughed it off.

“No, I just mean Angie’s that cute. Hahaha.”

Yujin laughed awkwardly in return, but then a faint engine noise came from afar. Winston, who had turned his head, paused, and Charlotte and Georgina also fixed their gazes in the same direction. They stood still, watching a sedan speeding toward the mansion. The car took a wide turn around the large fountain and stopped not far away. As the butler rushed over and opened the door, the expected man appeared.

The tall, robust man walking toward them made Georgina tense up instantly. Even though she should have been used to it by now, the reaction never quite disappeared. Winston’s presence alone could terrify anyone. A man larger than most, with an overwhelmingly imposing aura, staring down at you would make anyone’s heart stop in fear. Georgina was lucky enough to have a naturally bold personality that let her approach Winston without hesitation, but even she was sometimes scared like this. Glancing sideways, Charlotte was trembling, looking pale. Georgina inwardly felt pity for her and quietly regretted.

We should have left sooner.

She felt a sinking feeling of defeat as Winston approached slowly, taking his time, then stopped and spoke.

“Charlotte, Georgina.”

Winston exchanged eye contact and spoke their names one after another. Georgina and Charlotte responded with greetings in turn.

“Hello, Winston.”

“Hello, Mr. Campbell.”

Looking up with an expressionless face as if to ask what was going on, Georgina started.

“Angie invited us for tea time together. We were just about to leave. Right?”

Giving Charlotte a gentle nudge, Charlotte startled and nodded.

“Yes, yes... that’s right. We were just about to leave... we should go.”

Flustered, Charlotte repeated the same words and lowered her gaze. Winston said nothing but cast a glance toward the car, as if asking what they were doing now. Seizing the opportunity, Georgina quickly grabbed Charlotte’s arm.

“Well then, we’ll be off. Yujin, Angie, see you again. Goodbye.”

“Ah, goodbye...”

Before properly finishing the farewell, Charlotte hurriedly got into the driver’s seat. Following, Georgina opened the passenger door, waved once more at Angela, then sat down. Yujin silently stood behind Angela, who waved her arm energetically at the receding car.

Once the stranger left, the surroundings grew quiet, and an eerie tension settled in. Yujin felt his nerves sharpen again and reluctantly turned his head toward Winston. Their eyes, which had been watching each other intently, met immediately. For a while, they said nothing but stared at each other like that.

“...You came early.”

Unable to endure it any longer, Yujin spoke first. Winston remained silent for a while, then shifted his gaze toward Angela.

“I finished work early. Angie, did you have fun?”

His voice was softer than usual, calming, and the child nodded quickly.

“Georgina is my friend. We had a tea party together.”

Angela hesitated but then mustered courage to ask.

“Um, can I invite her again next time?”

Yujin thought it was a bit late to ask after already inviting her twice but quietly waited for Winston’s reaction. Judging from his attitude earlier, he probably wouldn’t like it much...

“Of course, Angie.”

“What?”

Yujin unintentionally blurted out and hurriedly covered his mouth. Winston and Angela both looked at him simultaneously. Winston frowned, and surprised Yujin was embarrassed and hesitated before speaking.

“Well, um... I didn’t expect you to agree so easily.”

Fumbling for words, Winston said with a still frowning face.

“Why? Angie is my daughter. Why would I oppose?”

Surprisingly, Angela also looked up at Yujin as if curious. He was too embarrassed to speak and just opened and closed his mouth. Winston stared at him quietly, then turned his attention back to Angela.

“Angie, then you’ll need this next time.”

As if signaling, the butler handed over a large beautifully wrapped box. Yujin quickly realized Winston had brought it in his car. Receiving the box from the butler, Winston then asked Angela.

“Curious what it is?”

“Yes!”

Angela answered immediately, and Winston smiled.

“Let’s go upstairs and check it out. Want me to give you a piggyback ride?”

Not missing the chance, Winston asked, {N•o•v•e•l•i•g•h•t} and Angela answered clearly.

“No!”

A bitter expression flickered across Winston’s face, but he quickly acted as if nothing happened, carrying the box and walking off. Yujin followed slowly behind, chasing after the child, and they headed up to the second floor.

“Waaah!”

Opening the box in the room, Angela cried out in surprise. The tea cup set was elegantly patterned, as if made just to steal a child’s heart. Seeing the three small legs under each cup, Angela couldn’t hold back her excitement and gasped for breath.

“Thank you! It’s so pretty!”

The child shouted her thanks, and Winston smiled warmly. Watching Angela take each piece of the set and turn it around, Winston sat in the chair at the tea table with a pleased expression. Glancing at him, Yujin opened his mouth bluntly.

“Someone might think you’re a really kind dad.”

He didn’t like how Angela was gradually opening up to Winston. Although sarcastic, Winston laughed out loud and threw a glance at Yujin.

“Oh yeah? Feels good.”

“Hah.”

Yujin could only let out a short exclamation, stunned. He couldn’t hold it anymore. Lowering his voice as much as possible so the child wouldn’t hear, he asked sharply.

“What on earth are you thinking? Flattering me or Angie won’t get you anywhere.”

Despite snapping at him, Winston jokingly replied.

“It gets me the kid, the one in your belly.”

“Winston Atticus Campbell...”

Yujin ground his teeth and called his full name. Only then did Winston reluctantly open his mouth.

“I told you, let’s get along. What’s the point in wasting energy?”

That was true. But there was one huge mistake: Yujin had no intention of getting along with him.

“I don’t agree with that.”

Stubbornly saying so, Winston frowned and looked at him.

“Darling, what’s in it for you by doing that?”

Of course, there was nothing. But Yujin had no intention of going along with that man’s whims.

“If you say so, do I have to follow without question?”

“Of course, darling.”

Hearing that so readily, Yujin was momentarily speechless. Winston laughed, breaking his stern expression.

“My father is dead. The Campbell family is mine. You get it?”

His smiling face felt unusually chilling. Whispering low, Winston continued, and Yujin couldn’t answer but just stared at him.

“My father left you to me, and everything inside this mansion is mine. You, Angie, all of you.”

It felt like a bucket of cold water was poured over him. Yujin opened his eyes wide in humiliation and bit his lip.

“I’m not an object. No one can trade me around.”

Managing to say this with a trembling voice, Winston chuckled shortly.

“If that’s not true, why would father have made you marry and have a child? Darling, you accepted that.”

“You said that was the only way...”

As Yujin spoke, he suddenly realized he had fallen into a trap. Winston continued speaking as Yujin shut his mouth.

“See? Now you understand? You sold yourself for money. So now you’re mine, and you won’t be going anywhere.”

Yujin tried to deny it but words wouldn’t come. He had too much to say, but didn’t know where to start. Seeing this, Winston laughed leisurely.

“Don’t worry, I’ll keep the will. You’ll get all the money and everything you want. You just have to stay here.”

“As one of your possessions?”

Yujin barely managed to speak, and Winston replied.

“Isn’t that too easy and simple?”

If Angela hadn’t been there, Yujin might have slapped him. But all he could do now was clench his fists. Winston sat up, confident of his victory. Yujin glared hard at him as he toyed with a toy alongside Angela, making ridiculous jokes.

Yeah, keep being arrogant. That way, you’ll be even more careless.

Imagining how shocked that arrogant man would be the day Yujin disappeared with Angela, Yujin endured the humiliation for the moment.
