Kami-Jutsu: The Yakuza's Son is Aware-Chapter 14: Please… What’s the Time Now?
(Note: the name "Najima," is supposed to be "Najimi," meaning Friendliness, but since the author is a hot mess of foolhardiness—who probably won’t go back to previous Chapters and correct his mistake—he’s been using a wrong spelling. Forgive him.)

GBAAAAAMMMMM!!
The entire penthouse was engulfed in a rush of flames and shockwaves.
Everyone in attendance was rendered into smithereens in that instant...
Well, of course, Ferry survived.
"Whoohoo!! I’m a flying wolf! Check me out, Ken!"
Noisy as ever.
We were both falling down the building, blasted off from the penthouse.
I looked below to find the distance between me and the ground unfunny.
A direct hit would crush me.
So I clapped my hands to generate enough force to push myself closer to the building.
When I was close enough, I plunged my hands into the surface, creating friction and reducing the gravitational pull.
Ferry kept flapping his hands in the air, eyes wide in excitement, until—
SNAP! CRACK!
His head hit the ground first, and his neck was now crushed, his upper body skyward.
His tongue was out, blood seeping from his eyes and nose. He stopped moving.
Once I confirmed I wasn’t falling with too much force, I used the particles to break the rest and cushioned my landing.
(Ferry, are you okay?)
"..."
(Of course! It’d take something more massive than a mere fall to kill the great divine wolf...! But gimme a sec to regenerate and come back to life.)
(Hurry up, though...)
Because I don’t know which of this multitude before us was the Sabertooth’s Boss.
Just in front of the hotel, some meters from me, vehicles and bikes had parked, various kinds of dangerous-looking folks flanking them.
But at the forefront, there were eight people — all looking like higher-ups.
"Ah, that old guy with the evil mustache," Ferry had revived, "He’s the Sabertooth’s Don. Kill him and we won’t hear from Sabertooth for a while."
The man squinted at the talking wolf.
"Okay..." Ferry made an awkward expression. "I’m gonna, like, leave you now."
"What?" I turned to him. "You’re betraying me?" 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
"Nah. Not betrayal," he waved. "I’m just going to watch from a safe distance as you dismantle the enemy."
"Why?"
"Well, they have some pretty dangerous weapons over there, which can totally do me harm... and I happen to dislike pain."
As Ferry waved at me, his fur turned pitch black and he began to sink into the ground like a receding shadow.
"I don’t care about who sent you," the supposed leader stated, his voice clear and dominant, "But one thing I’m sure of is that you have stepped on the tiger’s tail tonigh—"
"Sorry, please, can you tell me what the time is?"
I had to cut into his monologue.
Depending on his answer, I might have to continue the witch hunt another day.
He frowned, then brought out a golden pistol.
Slacking his head to a tilt, he said, "Did you kill Mio?"
And he’s not answering my question.
I turned to the lady in light wear beside him, her toned and trained physique hard to ignore.
"Onee-san, this is very important," I pleaded. "Do you know what the time is right now?"
I was beginning to get anxious.
If the boss of Sabertooth had this much backup to come here, he must’ve heard word that a conflict erupted.
If that’s the case, then my family must’ve heard too. And added to my last massacre, the unease of a hooded killer targeting the underworld might make them ask of me.
I’m already in trouble with Mother, but if 12:00 hasn’t struck, I can still make a run for the subway.
The physically fit lady smirked. "Don’t you understand your position right now?" They still weren’t answering my question. "If knowing the time means so much to you, what do we get in return?"
"A swift death, I promise." I raised a hand. "I’ll even make sure no one feels any pain."
"..." They just looked at me, speechless.
"Why don’t you start with the wolf that just disappeared?" asked a blue-haired young man, dressed in a grey suit and full of piercings.
I turned to him, frowning. "Sir, you’re literally wearing a watch. Help me out."
Tsk. Fine. Since they’ll probably die tonight, I might as well tell them.
"Alright. If I give you important information, will you tell me the time?"
"Yes," he answered.
The Sabertooth’s Boss was clearly reaching his limit, scratching his head with the base of his gun.
I began.
"I call myself Shinigami Ō. It represents what I will become: the ruler and supervisor of all gods of death in the underworld. As for the wolf—he’s my Familiar, and a very dangerous being. Count yourselves lucky you didn’t fight him. So please... what’s the time now?"
They stared at me with obvious doubt, until—
"Pfft!" The lady held back a laugh. "He’s just some chuunibyou! So this is what we get when you mix a brat with psychic powers?"
She wiped a tear and pulled out her phone. "The time is 11:38. In the next minute, you’ll probably be dead."
Before she could finish speaking, some guys wheeled in a massive satellite-like machine and turned it on.
Bzzt! Bzzt! Bzzt!
It emitted a sharp cadence, as blue rays shot out across a radius of about 200 meters, then the lights cut off.
Though the lights died, I could still hear the humming cadence.
Okay, this is... Bad.
This was the worst possible situation I’ve ever found myself in.
Actually hearing it from her;
11:38. No—11:40 now.
By the time I get home, it’ll be far too late.
Also, the Mafia guys had done something to the area.
Kami particles weren’t responding properly. In fact, they were going haywire.
I think that satellite thing is a large version of the anti-kamijutsu weapon I destroyed back at the penthouse—minus the part where it magnetized people to the ground.
Right now, standing here, I could get killed if I—
BANG!
The bullet from the golden pistol flew straight to my forehead. It hit.
It hurt so much.
My body was sent flying until I crashed into one of the rocks Ferry had conjured to seal the hotel.
"Eh? Wait, isn’t that the Kurosawas’ kid?"
The voices sounded muffled, like I was underwater.
I was dizzy. My consciousness flickered with every attempt to move.
Then—
Darkness enveloped me.
{Requirements have been met... Kurosawa Ken has obtained [Valhalla].}

"What are they talking about!" I snapped at the glasses girl, Mai, my personal attendant.
"W-Wait a little moment, Ojou," she whimpered.
She and I were currently watching Onii-sama and his new pet through the cameras I had secretly installed in his room.
*
A short while ago, someone came to look for him.
And the way he owned up to also knowing this person? Suspicious.
I mean, Onii-sama has no one in his life but me.
When he went to meet the stranger, I slid over to the window upstairs in my room to assess the threat—whether a simple warning would suffice or—
