Kaijin Fighter: So I Have to Make Monsters, So What?-Chapter 1277: Going Out by One’s Own Choice
"Ya know, to this day, I can't tell if I'm jealous of my cousin's luck in becoming Kaijin Lord or incredibly grateful that I'm not."
"Is that latter opinion because while we're watching over this passed out antelope girlie, your cousin is currently fighting a literal monster in his soul?"
"Precisely."
"Understandable."
While Zhen Xing, Lythero and Olstenna were off patrolling the area, and Zhen Liu messing with that Constrictor guy, Zhen Tai and Antonio were given the relatively easy task of keeping an eye on the Bloodliner girl that they had rescued from Constrictor.
Zhen Tai opposed the idea at first, given that he wanted to see what kind of opponents called this cursed mountain range home.
However, after much flattery was bestowed upon his person and that it was pointed out that she was probably the closest thing to a font of wisdom in the area, Zhen Tai changed his time and happily watched over the girl.
Then again, it probably helped that this antelope Bloodliner was surprisingly pretty for someone who was dressed like a slave.
There was just one thing about her, and this task, that made it hard for Zhen Tai to focus: the strange bundle in her arms.
Nobody could sense any signs of life from the bundle, so they ruled it out being a baby or a pet of some kind, but they still didn't know what was inside of it.
They knew it was hard, but that was about it.
"Hey, Antonio?"
"What's up?"
"Do you think we can try—"
^THEY'RE GETTING CLOSER!^
"WHOA!"
Before Zhen Tai could finish asking Antonio if they should try and take a peek in the clothed bundle, the antelope Bloodliner suddenly shot up like a groundhog with a clear look of mortal terror on her face.
Whatever she was sensing, it must've been bad.
^Whoa chica, whoa...^Antonio said in an attempt to calm the Bloodliner girl down. ^Who's coming?^
^THE KAIJIN! THE KAIJIN ARE COMING!^
...Meanwhile...
[Stop running and let me catch you already! I'm only going to rip ya a little!]
Chasing after the wooden zako was a kaijin known as Ripper.
Ripper was a Kaijin that used to be an ordinary Huge Mandrill Ape, but was captured by the Kaijin Lord several months ago.
During that time, he went from mere first tier aether beast to being as strong as an Aether Grandmaster. He was elevated to his current status after several months of devouring the [Despair] of the lowly cattle that worked to bring their master's will to force, and devouring the [Cores] of two of his fellow primate-type Kaijin from rival divisions.
By taking in their power, he had managed to make his grip strong enough to literally rip through steel armor like it was paper and his hands big enough that he could rip apart the horse and rider wearing them.
As an unfortunate(?) trade-off, Ripper's face looked as if someone took the face off of three different species of apes and molded them together.
No seams, no scars, just pure...flesh.
[Come on! Don't you think these massive hands feel warm? I promise it'll feel relaxing as I rip your limbs off!] Ripper's faces laughed in stereo as he continued to use his hands to fling himself forward in a violent fashion, tossing out boulders on occasion to fuck with the zako's path.
Thud.
The wooden zako understood that his chances of being able to escape was getting slimmer and slimmer by the second due to the cursed environment screwing his movements and Ripper's constant obstacle creation. As such, he decided to go out swinging.
Or in this case, splintering.
The wooden zako immediately stopped running before throwing himself backwards. At the same time, he willed the [Chaos] in his body to agitate his wooden body and form a series of spikes up and down his entire body.
[Now I got you!]
Ripper was momentarily stunned by this change in action, but he was a smart monkey and knew how to adjust on the fly.
Using one hand to repostion himself, he proceeded to grab the spiked zako with the other, coating it in [Chaos] to prevent getting spiked by the zako...as well as suppress it's ability to self-destruct.
[You really think I haven't seen that sort of trick before? A lug named Shrapnel did that when his mate tried to eat him. Took them both out with that move. Shame. I wish I had the chance to swallow them. But I guess I'll have to settle for whatever the hell you are...wait, where's your core?]
... Elsewhere...
[Heheheheh! You really think that hard shell of yours is tougher than my hammer? I can do this all day and night and day!]
Clobber was originally a Iron-Skulled Worm, before the Kaijin Lord and his horde dug him up and out of the ground like a rotten turnip.
After that, Clobber smashed in the skull of a ram-like Kaijin, took his powers and gave himself a nice set of heavy horns and a pair of powerful legs that allowed the formerly landbound Kaijin the ability to jump and leap to their heart's content.
They were never going to be a butterfly anyways, so they might as well turn into a being that could deny everyone else their futures.
[Imma break you, imma break you, imma break you!]
It was only fair, after all.
The stone zako had, unfortunately, gotten caught by this insidious insect and had no choice but to harden their body to the best of their abilities in order to resist the damage.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
[First the body and then the brain!]
Unfortunately, Clobber had managed to beat the zako down until his arms had fully been pulverized into powder.
Now that the zako had no means to defend themselves, Clobber got ready to slam his head through the former's torso.
[Haha! I'm sure the boss wouldn't mind if...hey, wait...where's the goods?!]
...Running while they can...
[Stop squirming and floating like that, you see-through bitch! Just let little Piercer do his thing and stick you already!]
As the spectral zako did her best to dodge and weave through the rain of [Chaos]-infused spikes, she did he absolute best to tune this weird Kaijin out.
[I don't know how you don't have a shadow, but all the dodging makes me think that you're still as vulnerable as the other pincushions when it comes to my little spikes! I bet you'll scream twice as loud though!]
Originally a Cactus Raptor, Piercer was overjoyed to have his precious needles become even deadlier than how he was as a normal beast.
Back then, he greatly enjoyed watching prey squirm, scream and beg as his needles pinned them down to the cursed ground. Sometimes, he wouldn't even kill and eat them.
He would just watch as the evil earth tore them to shreds, all while thinking about how much better he was in comparison.
This feeling was amplified once he was uplifted into being a Kaijin.
Once he became a Kaijin, Piercer had managed to slaughter half a dozen of his fellow Kaijin and made their powers his own.
Piercer flew even faster than before as he now had wings coming out of his head, back and waist.
He was now strong enough to crush ore of metal into sand, as armored exoskeleton covered thick muscles that would make a gorilla jealous.
His precious needles became stronger, heavier and able to channel even more of his power than ever before, especially after they started to incorporate venomous glands that made rattlesnakes weep.
But his absolute favorite ability, was something he got from a Magnetic Chinchilla Kaijin.
[And...there!]
WOO!
A single managed to snag the ghost zako in the shoulder, but that was all that Piercer needed.
[Now then, time to get serious!]
With a flap of his wings, Piercer stopped flying and released a rain of razor sharp needles, feathers and scales that all flew in random directions before turning towards and impacting the ghost zako in the back.
AAAH!
[Ahahaha! Bulls eye! Cat's eye! Dead eye!]
The zako's back became a collage of projectiles as she was pinned to the ground and forced to stop moving.

If she had flesh, she would've been bleeding all over the ground at this point in time.
Instead, she could only feel her spectral essence being forcefully buried into the cursed earth.
[I bet, I bet, that once I swallow you whole, I'll get all sorts of neat abilities. Maybe I'll phase through walls like the Commander. Maybe I'll be able to have needles pass through people before solidifying and causing all sorts of internal wounds,] Piercer mocked as he flew down and placed a heavy claw on the zako's head.
[I bet the other two secured their bounties, so I can just lie and say you got away instead of you ending up...wait a minute...what the fuck?! How are you like this without a fucking Core to record everything?!]
