Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!-Chapter 2216: Fourteen Days to Clear the Level
"Have you guys missed the main point?" Xu Huo, standing behind the crowd, spoke up, "Isn’t the most important thing right now figuring out a way to pass the game?"
Indeed, regardless of whether Xu Huo stood in the way, they all came in to clear the stage. Unless they want to stay in this sector forever, there’s another benefit; more non-ticket players have joined, which makes the instance safer than when there were only ticket players.
"That sounds right." Huang Mao clapped his hands and said, "Besides, there’s no guarantee that others have actually come in, so why waste time on irrelevant people?"
The Rank-A Player was silent, only sneering as he pointed to the players inside the temple from this sector already fighting.
They were at a numerical disadvantage.
"No worries, the temple is spacious," Zhong Zhi invited Xu Huo and his companions, entering the temple ahead.
The inside of the temple was no different from the outside. The group bypassed the first annex and headed straight to the back.
"Those people suffered losses before coming in; they might start fighting with the local players. Let’s steer clear to avoid getting involved," Zhong Zhi said to the group.
The others had no objections, but after entering, they took a closer look around and found this temple didn’t differ much from the temple in Satellite City — just larger and not like they initially imagined, experiencing psychic attacks immediately upon entry.
"Fourteen days of stay to clear the game?" a female player said, "This doesn’t seem difficult. If worried about attacks, you can just hide inside territory props."
Among them were a few stranded players. Other players repeatedly questioned them on the way here, but unfortunately, none of them could provide clear answers. In their memory, they merely lived in the temple for over ten days — precise timing was muddled. Apart from sleeping and eating, they wandered inside, facing no real threats, failing to clear the stage, thus becoming stranded players, and vaguely left the temple, adapting to life in this sector.
"Their memories are compromised," Zhong Zhi said, "Unknowingly affected. If they truly survived peacefully for fourteen days, they should’ve successfully cleared the stage."
Surrounding structures seemed unchanged to them, but after observing further, the group geared up with more interference defense props and devices. Those possessing territory props got theirs ready, deciding against random movement, choosing to stay put for half a month.
There’s a subtle spiritual power inside the temple, different from the prior Goddess’s assertiveness. Now, the power was so faint that ordinary players couldn’t perceive it, akin to dust mingled with air.
However, Xu Huo noticed something peculiar. The spiritual power inside the temple was unevenly distributed.
Take him, for instance; typically, when the spiritual world expands, the power intensity within is consistent. Whether near him or on the edge when within Materialize Space’s range, the interference capability of the spiritual world diminishes towards the edges but remains uniform, like gradually fading colors, unlike the dispersed concentration seen in the temple.
The spiritual power inside the temple was weak, yet it contained relatively concentrated points. It was odd enough, but stranger still, these concentrated powers should have strong interference abilities, yet over time, almost no player detected them, not even through scouting props.
Xu Huo attempted pushing a defensive interference device through a concentrated power spot; instantly, its readings shifted rapidly. Interference defense engaged, but after mere seconds of frantic numeric changes, error signs flashed — the device was ruined!
Does this really happen?
Xu Huo explored numerous sectors; even encountering Zheng Yuci and Shengnan never resulted in devices being ruined. Do these concentrated powers surpass their psychic strengths?
Or is it the instance using a special tactic?
"Brother, make haste," Zhong Zhi called from inside the territory prop. He had set up defense props around it and intended to seal it.
Xu Huo casually set aside the device and took out ’Cottage in the Storm,’ entering inside.
These concentrated spiritual power points could pass through devices and people alike; already, over half of their group encountered these spots en route.
Scanning over various territory props large and small, Xu Huo simply sat behind a door. Should the prop holder fall into a trance, defenses inside and out become ineffective. With nightfall now, truths should reveal by midnight.
Meanwhile, Huang Mao, the Rank-A players, the temple players, and the stranded players clashed over territory.
The temple was vast overall, but due to numerous buildings and landscapes, open spaces were scarce. Many players’ territory props were sizable, and the influx of so many made trust scarce, inevitably sparking fights over turf.
Not everyone possessed territory props, nor were all players involved primarily instigators aiming to deplete others. Upon entering the temple fully, skirmishes erupted everywhere but limited by fear of damaging the temple, preventing them from exerting full force.
"Never has a stranded player entered twice," a ticket player argued with three others, "It’s the same wherever you are; why fight for space here? Isn’t it safer outside the temple?"
Stranded players wanted to leave but hesitated. They survived the first time by chance; what if luck didn’t favor them again?
Outside the temple? Who knows what nocturnal horrors lurk there; sometimes the regulation of instances protects players. At this clearance venue, even instance bosses face constraints.
"Cut the chatter, move along!" A stranded player dashed forward, fists pounding on the ticket player’s shield. Under aggressive force, the ticket player flew over ten meters, crashing beneath an annex’s Goddess Statue — unable to damage it, yet a clear crack indicated his arm and ribs were fractured.
