Chapter 314: Demon! Terrifying Physical Power! Overbearing Saber Arts!

As the scroll painting shattered, a figure emerged. It was the towering, burly form of Ms. Yu, the Guardian of the Xinyi Dao!

At this moment, her seven orifices bled, and her aura was weak and fading.

“Why, Li Yanchu! What grudge do you bear against the Twenty-Four Heretics of Feiyun Prefecture, that you must hunt us down to the last!?” Her voice was sharp and wrathful.

Hearing this, Li Yanchu raised an eyebrow, but said nothing.

Ms. Yu’s hair hung in wild disarray, and her blood-filled eyes were streaming tears of crimson.“You heartless Daoist! Why destroy the foundations of Xinyi Dao? Why slaughter the Twenty-Four Heretics of Feiyun Prefecture!?”

An ordinary monk or Daoist, faced with such an accusation, would surely have answered with righteous words, “To cut down demons and uphold the mandate of Heaven!”

But Li Yanchu remained silent. Suddenly, a surge of anger rose in his chest, and an ominous instinct told him that if he spoke, he might fall into a dreadful trap. This was a curse technique!

Blood streamed down Ms. Yu’s face, which was a ghastly, terrifying sight. “Answer me!!”

Li Yanchu frowned, summoning forth his Martial Outer Realm. His saber moved in perfect unison with the towering phantom at his back.

Slash! A massive saber qi roared forth, cleaving Ms. Yu apart. But, what made the scalp crawl was that she did not scream, nor show any fear. Instead, she had a strange, knowing smile.

In that instant, a terrifying resentment condensed in the void, locking directly onto Li Yanchu’s very soul. This was Ms. Yu’s final trump card as the keeper of the scroll. She would use the collective hatred of the twenty-four fallen heretics as fuel to curse this young Daoist to death.

And if she could not kill him outright, then at the very least, she would corrupt his Dao, and shatter his Dao heart.

What a pity. This nearly inescapable curse, which should have clung to Li Yanchu like maggots gnawing bone and hounding him for life, just so happened to meet a pay-to-win player.

Whether it was the four Spirit Officer Summoning Talismans, or the enhanced Clearheart Jade Pendant, both were primordial spirit artifacts and were able to shield the soul from all outside corruption.

And on top of that, Li Yanchu still carried the purple-gold qi inherited from the Immortal Ma. If tallied up, he had several ways to restrain this curse.

At once, the heavens and earth shifted color. Li Yanchu’s figure was enveloped in a wash of ink-black and snow-white like a living landscape painting, and behind him floated a Taiji Yin-Yang Fish. The chilling curse aura instantly dissolved into nothingness.

This was the Taiji Yin-Yang Diagram Visualization Method, a secret art of Mount Longhu, and the sect’s ultimate guardian teaching. With a single use, it dispersed Ms. Yu’s final strike.

It was his first time manifesting the primordial spirit Dharma form. At that moment he felt his soul surge in strength, as though it pierced through the fog veiling the world itself. With the soul’s gaze, many things invisible to the mortal eye became sharply clear.

When he shattered the scroll, he had appeared amidst a desolate field of graves. Now, with his Dharma form open, he glimpsed a presence of deep strangeness. Withdrawing his manifestation, he chose a more cautious path to investigate.

Employing his extreme movement technique, he soon arrived before a burial mound. The grass atop the grave rose nearly two meters high, yet the place was thick with corpse-qi and yin qi.

Li Yanchu extended a single finger, and the midnight tomb suddenly opened on its own, revealing an empty burial chamber within.

Daoist art, Wallbreak!

“Eh?” Li Yanchu’s brows knitted slightly. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Inside this desolate grave, there was actually a stone gate that concealed a hidden mechanism. He walked up and gave it a light push, and he discovered it was incredibly heavy and clearly controlled by some device.

Such designs were common in tomb gates. Many of them were crafted with vicious intent: flooding chambers with poisonous mercury, strong acids, or releasing venomous insects. Any tomb robber who tried to break through would be met with a cruel fate.

Some tomb owners even hired masters skilled in curse arts, layering hexes upon hexes, all to ensure their rest was never disturbed after death.

But, with corpse-qi so dense here, the body within had certainly turned fiendish and became a jiangshi. If not dealt with, once the jiangshi broke free, it would surely massacre the living, devouring flesh and blood without end.

Li Yanchu pondered briefly, then resolved to enter the tomb and see for himself. He tapped lightly with a finger, and the tomb gate swung open at once!

“This ‘Wallbreak’ spell may have a plain name, but its effect is marvelous!”

Li Yanchu smiled faintly. The Methods Section of the Yellow Court Classic had never once disappointed him.

He stepped straight into the burial chamber. The poisonous vapors and yin qi within had no effect on him at all, for the quadruple-enhanced Plague-Dispelling Talisman was a natural nemesis of toxins, mists, and venomous creatures.

Following the narrow passageway, he walked for about half the time it takes a stick of incense to burn until he reached the main chamber.

Along the way, there were no hidden traps like quicksand or flying arrows nor any haunting ghosts. Perhaps, they were suppressed by the sheer density of corpse-qi.

He quietly surveyed the burial chamber. It was an empty square stone room about twenty meters across.

But the moment he stepped inside, a wave of biting yin chill struck him. The aura was so heavy that it made one’s skin crawl.

The entire stone chamber contained only a bronze-cornered golden coffin which was already pried open, and black ink-lines still stretched across its surface.

Inside the coffin was nothing but emptiness!

“Did... whatever was inside escape?” Li Yanchu frowned slightly.

But, the whole burial chamber was plain to see and utterly barren, save for the heavy stench of corpse-qi that lingered.

Suddenly, as if sensing something, Li Yanchu snapped his head upward. In the shadows clinging to the ceiling, a wild-haired monster clung there. Its eyes were a ghostly gray-white, and its entire body was shrouded in thick black miasma.

Bang!

The creature lunged downward. In the blink of an eye, it was right before Li Yanchu!

Boom! Li Yanchu struck out with his palm!

Divine Astral Hands! Void-Splitting Palm!

A wave of searing air erupted outward, and the monster’s charge was slowed only slightly, then with a kick of both legs, it clung sideways to the right-hand wall!

Crack!

The wall split apart beneath its tremendous force. A nearly invisible black blur launched itself straight at him.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

The monster’s strength was overwhelming. Its fists collided with Li Yanchu’s blow for blow, and each impact thundered through the chamber.

Boom!

At last, the beast rammed forward with brutal ferocity, sending Li Yanchu’s body flying. But relying on his formidable martial mastery, he forcibly dispersed the terrifying force and landed steadily back on the ground.

Thousand-Jin Drop! The ground split open into a deep fissure, and the monster’s footing gave way. In an instant it plunged down, only to reappear before Li Yanchu in the blink of an eye.

Boom!

Li Yanchu’s fist collided with the creature’s claws, and from their clash as the center, a powerful shockwave rippled outward. The entire burial chamber shook violently.

The monster’s physical strength was utterly terrifying! In sheer raw power, even with his talismanic armor reinforcing him, Li Yanchu still could not match this abomination.

Boom!

The two of them battled fiercely within the underground tomb, and the air reverberated with earth-shaking detonations.

“What kind of corpse was refined into this jiangshi...? It’s so powerful!” Li Yanchu was truly astonished.

Clang!

The Jiaoslayer shuddered, emitting a mysterious resonance and rippling outward like concentric waves on water. Just then, a saber light flashed, and Li Yanchu slashed directly into the monster’s body.

Clang! The sound that rang out was like the tolling of a colossal bronze bell. In that instant, the entire stone chamber collapsed in a deafening roar. Falling rock and packed earth buried both man and monster in an instant, as though a giant earth-dragon had overturned the ground.

The surface above sank down, forming a massive crater. The burial chamber was utterly destroyed.
