Journey to the West: Starting by taking Sun Wukong as my disciple!-Chapter 751 - 750 Return to Chaos Residence
The Six-Eared Macaque shrugged his shoulders. "Is there something else? Is it that you want to keep me here to share a casual meal with my master?"
"The Wind-Calming Pill I gave you, have you forgotten to give it back to me?" Seeing that the Six-Eared Macaque did not mention this, Lingji Bodhisattva was no longer indirect and brought it up directly.
"Wind-Calming Pill? You’re asking me for the Wind-Calming Pill?" The Six-Eared Macaque was a bit surprised. "Could it be that person didn’t return the Wind-Calming Pill to you?"
"What person?" Lingji Bodhisattva looked at the Six-Eared Macaque. "I gave the Wind-Calming Pill to you. Now you’re asking me to retrieve it from someone else, Sun Wukong, that isn’t reasonable, is it?"
"Wukong, what Wind-Calming Pill? Don’t waste time here. Since the Bodhisattva is asking you for the Wind-Calming Pill, just hurry up and exchange it with the Bodhisattva," said Xuanzang hastily to the Six-Eared Macaque, feeling a little shocked inside. His disciple’s behavior shouldn’t be about trying to keep the Wind-Calming Pill for himself, should it?
"Bodhisattva, when I was here before, my eyes were bewitched by the Yellow Wind Demon. Then, an old man applied some medicine to me, and my eyes were healed. I gave the Wind-Calming Pill to him," said the Six-Eared Macaque.
Xuanzang looked at his disciple, who indeed did not appear to be the type to lie, then said to Lingji Bodhisattva.
"Bodhisattva, my disciple has never told a lie. Could it be that he gave the Wind-Calming Pill to that old man, but the old man hasn’t found you yet, and therefore hasn’t returned the Wind-Calming Pill to you?"
"What old man?" Lingji Bodhisattva thought for a moment, guessing that this must be someone sent by the Heavenly Realm.
But apart from this Journey to the West for Scriptures, Buddhism and the Heavenly Realm hardly interact. How could someone from the Heavenly Realm take away the Wind-Calming Pill?
"That’s not all," the Six-Eared Macaque said angrily. "The Wind-Calming Pill you gave me was a low-grade one. It couldn’t cure the Yellow Wind Demon’s yellow wind at all. I was made to suffer in vain."
"It was the talisman given to me by that person which worked its effect. Only with that I was able to subdue the Yellow Wind Demon. In fact, I have suffered twice for this, and I haven’t even come to settle the account with you, yet you’re here first asking me for the Wind-Calming Pill."
"You’re saying the Wind-Calming Pill didn’t work?" This was even more surprising to Lingji Bodhisattva than the Six-Eared Macaque giving the Wind-Calming Pill to someone else.
"Do you know what grade that Wind-Calming Pill is? You’ve been deceived by someone, this monkey. How could the Wind-Calming Pill, being a high-grade Magic Artifact, not stop the Yellow Wind Demon’s wind?"
"How would I know about that? When I tried to use it, it clearly didn’t work. This isn’t my fault. Anyway, your Wind-Calming Pill was no use to me, but the talisman that person gave me did work. He also said he was going to return to Buddhism to find you, so I thought he was from your Buddhism and confidently handed over the Wind-Calming Pill to him," the Six-Eared Macaque explained.
Lingji Bodhisattva was even more astonished. "You’re saying, he was from Buddhism?"
The Six-Eared Macaque nodded. "What, could it be, Lingji Bodhisattva, that you don’t recognize him?"
"Buddhism has never sent anyone down to heal your eyes," said Lingji Bodhisattva.
"This is strange then. That person also saved me twice," said the Six-Eared Macaque.
"Twice?"
Then it was even less plausible. Even if someone from the Heavenly Realm did save a person, they would only do it once. The first time could possibly be truly someone from the Heavenly Realm, but the second time, that was truly unlikely.
Seeing the look on Lingji Bodhisattva’s face, the Six-Eared Macaque explained, "The first time, that person only applied some medicine for me, and then I went to save you, and asked for the medicine."
"The second time, it was because your Wind-Calming Pill didn’t work, and I was bewitched by the Yellow Wind Demon again. That person came to apply medicine again and also said your Wind-Calming Pill was a low-grade Magic Artifact, not strong enough against the Yellow Wind Demon. He then gave me a talisman and told me to defeat the Yellow Wind Demon with it."
Lingji Bodhisattva listened, and realized that this person did not intend to harm anyone; he was simply acting to obtain the Wind-Calming Pill. However, what he needed the Wind-Calming Pill for?
Given that he could write an incantation to drive away the wind, his mana must be very strong. Surely he could accomplish whatever the Wind-Calming Pill could do. So what exactly did he need the Wind-Calming Pill for?
This matter was indeed baffling, and Lingji Bodhisattva couldn’t figure out what the person wanted with the Wind-Calming Pill at all.
However, his only aim was to acquire the Wind-Calming Pill and he had not done anything to harm others; he even helped the Six-Eared Macaque and Xuanzang, so it wasn’t too excessive.
"Does Lingji Bodhisattva mean that the person came to steal the Wind-Calming Pill?" asked the Six-Eared Macaque.
Lingji Bodhisattva felt that it was just a Wind-Calming Pill—no big deal if it was gone. Since the other party had no intention of harm, if he needed the Wind-Calming Pill, then let him have it. After all, being able to obtain the Wind-Calming Pill was also a testament to his abilities. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"Well, if he could get his hands on the Wind-Calming Pill, then that’s also his capability," Lingji Bodhisattva said, "Sun Wukong, now that this matter is resolved, you should go and protect Tang Monk on his Journey to the West for Scriptures. I will take the Yellow Wind Demon away."
The Six-Eared Macaque nodded, feeling that this Lingji Bodhisattva was very strange. Just a moment ago, when the Wind-Calming Pill had disappeared, he had been persistent in asking about it, yet now that it had been designedly stolen, he seemed indifferent. Truly bizarre.
But this was not his fault, and since the Bodhisattva was not pursuing the matter, he decided not to dwell on it and left with Xuanzang.
Chen Nuo obtained the Wind-Calming Pill and thought that now he needed eight magic artifacts. That didn’t sound like a lot, but it wasn’t a small number either. Fortunately, the start was smooth, which gave Chen Nuo confidence in collecting the other magic artifacts.
"Master, what shall we do now? Are we still following this mentor-disciple pair?" Sha Wujing asked.
Chen Nuo thought for a moment. After the incident at Gao Laozhuang, it was time to subdue Sha Wujing, and now that Sha Wujing was following him, their unsuccessful efforts would surely cause them anxiety.
Perhaps they would use a great amount of mana to divine Sha Wujing’s location. Moreover, finding the magic artifacts afterward would not be easy. So, he decided to first send Sha Wujing back to Chaos Residence.
Chaos Residence could shield from divine calculation, and no matter who it was—even if all the powers of this world combined—they could not divine anything within Chaos Residence.
"Let’s return to the store first; we’ll talk about other matters later," Chen Nuo said.
Sha Wujing nodded, taking his master’s orders as absolute. Whatever his master told him to do, he would do.
Chen Nuo returned to Chaos Residence. He had been in the mundane world for nearly a month, which translated to less than an hour passing here. He wondered how Sun Wukong was doing with the Silver-inlaid Sprouts, and as soon as he returned to Chaos Residence, he headed straight for the kitchen.
Once there, he saw only a mess on the floor and Sun Wukong, who was intently threading beansprouts.
Hearing the commotion, Sun Wukong spoke up, "I’m sorry, my master has left. If someone is coming..."
"Let me see your results," Chen Nuo said.
As soon as Sun Wukong saw Chen Nuo, he quickly begged for mercy, "Master, please spare me. I really can’t do this at all."
"This task is simply too difficult, and every time, they end up getting pierced. Then I have to start over with another beansprout. I really can’t manage it."
"Let me first look at how much you’ve done?" Chen Nuo asked.
