Chapter 668: Chapter 667: Sha Wujing Starts Arguing

"I’ll put the dessert on the tray for you in a moment." Chen Nuo didn’t even respond to Sun Wukong’s antics.

"Master." Sun Wukong looked at Chen Nuo with pitiful eyes, feeling some resentment towards himself for behaving foolishly. Now he had not only angered the master but also drawn the fire onto himself. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say he was leading by example.

Chen Nuo sipped his tea, no longer willing to pay Sun Wukong any attention.

Sun Wukong could only accept his fate, as a disciple’s duty was not to defy the master. It was fine to crack a little joke now and then, but crossing the line meant punishment.

After finishing the tasks at hand and wiping the grease from his hands, he was about to change out of his apron to deliver the cake, when Sha Wujing suddenly spoke up.

"Wukong, why don’t I deliver this cake? You’re Shopkeeper Chen’s apprentice, and I’m just a helper in the store. Delivering dishes and desserts is something I should take care of."

Sun Wukong didn’t say whether he would let him or not, but first, he looked towards Chen Nuo. Chen Nuo was the boss, and his word was final.

Chen Nuo continued to drink his tea without paying any attention to the matter.

But still, Sun Wukong was happy. Even though Chen Nuo hadn’t responded, Sun Wukong, as his apprentice, could understand everything from a mere glance. Chen Nuo’s silent attitude was his way of giving consent.

Sun Wukong put the apron he had just taken off back on. He approached Sha Wujing and patted him on the shoulder, "You’re right. After being in the store for so long, it’s indeed time to learn about serving dishes and greeting customers."

Sha Wujing nodded, "Brother Wukong, so I just have to place the items in front of those ladies, right?"

"Right," Sun Wukong responded, unusually polite in his conversation with Sha Wujing.

"When you get there, just place the items there, and no matter what they say to you, don’t engage with them. Just say you are new and know nothing. After all, they’re not very familiar with you, and they definitely won’t make things difficult for you."

"Okay, I got it, I’ll go deliver it now," said Sha Wujing.

With a flick of Chen Nuo’s hand, the Black Forest Cake appeared on the table, precisely cut into the portions he had determined earlier, and he had Sha Wujing place them onto the tray.

Just as Sha Wujing was about to pick up the tray, Chen Nuo held his wrist, thinking it over, and decided against delivering them one by one. Instead, he gathered the various desserts they were supposed to test and served them all at once. That way, they could just wait for the guests to finish before returning, saving the trouble.

With that thought, Chen Nuo also took three servings each of Napoleon, Xuemei Lady, and thousand-layer cake from the dessert shop and placed them on the tray too.

"Alright, these few items will do. Wujing, just take them over and say this is the full assortment of desserts."

"Understood, Shopkeeper Chen," Sha Wujing replied as he took the tray and headed for the hall.

It was very quiet over there, with no sounds of talking. Presumably, a round of ’battle’ had taken place, and it was now a ceasefire, silent until Sha Wujing slowly approached and even the faintest rustling ceased.

Sha Wujing, with a tray full of desserts, walked up to the doorway and went in as he lifted the curtain.

The immortals inside thought Chen Nuo was the one entering and all looked towards the door, ready to talk to him as he came in. But the moment Sha Wujing stepped inside, the three goddesses were instantly taken aback.

"This is the dessert that Shopkeeper Chen asked me to deliver," Sha Wujing said.

Sha Wujing’s true form was very tall, but since he needed to work at Chaos Residence, he maintained his height at around two meters using a spell.

Fortunately, after eating the dishes made by Chen Nuo the last time, he found that his spell had been purified a lot, and it was slowly transforming from demonic power into spiritual power; thus maintaining a human form had become much easier for him.

"Who are you? I haven’t seen you before," Xuan Feng asked.

Nuwa and Yang Chan were both stunned for a second or two when they saw Sha Wujing come in.

The immortals had seen all the other staff members of Chaos Residence, as none of them were too proud or aloof. Even if the staff at Chaos Residence were demons, they didn’t care much. However, this person had just walked in without much demonic aura and with an unfamiliar face; they had never met him before.

Sha Wujing wasn’t in a hurry to introduce himself, first placing the items in his hands onto the table before preparing to introduce himself.

"I’ve just started working as a staff member at Chaos Residence, so it’s normal for you to find my face unfamiliar."

"When did you start working at Chaos Residence? Half a month ago when I came with Her Majesty, I didn’t see you," Xuan Feng said, scrutinizing Sha Wujing as she spoke.

This staff member looked very strange, unfamiliar yet familiar. She felt as though she had never seen him while at Chaos Residence but seemed to have seen him somewhere else, which was truly odd.

"That’s really unfortunate, I must have arrived at Chaos Residence just recently, probably just as you were visiting," Sha Wujing said as he took out desserts from the tray.

"Then why isn’t Shopkeeper Chen coming?" Xuan Feng asked.

"Didn’t he just say he was waiting for the results of our tasting? We’ve only eaten one dessert and he’s disappeared. Wait a minute, why are you bringing up so many desserts? Are these all the types of desserts that Shopkeeper Chen wanted us to taste today? What does this mean? Is Shopkeeper Chen not coming then?"

"No, Shopkeeper Chen said it was troublesome to serve the dishes one by one, so he asked me to bring all the types of desserts up at once," Sha Wujing explained.

Xuan Feng’s eyes almost turned red at the sight of those exquisite pastries, but just as her eyes were about to sparkle, she pulled back and hid her desire, "Hmph, Shopkeeper Chen must find us annoying. If that’s the case, then he shouldn’t open a shop at all. What does it mean to open a shop and then find it troublesome?"

The statement was quite impolite. Nuwa warned Xuan Feng with a look, and receiving the signal, Xuan Feng obediently closed her mouth and said nothing.

"You misunderstood, Shopkeeper Chen doesn’t find it troublesome to serve dishes time after time."

Sha Wujing disliked Xuan Feng’s unrestrained nature, and since she spoke ill of Chen Nuo, he felt even more annoyed with Xuan Feng, "He is considering that it’s troublesome for us, the staff, to serve dishes repeatedly, so he thought it would be better to serve all the desserts at once."

Xuan Feng had just been warned by Nuwa and was initially not planning to speak again, but she couldn’t swallow her pride, especially in front of a staff member, and was feeling angry. Now that Sha Wujing provided her with an opportunity, she found the chance to speak once more.

"Hmph, you all sure think highly of yourselves, more so than our Majesty. Our Majesty personally came to dine at your Chaos Residence, and it turns out that just a staff member like you finds serving dishes troublesome. I wonder if it’s Shopkeeper Chen who can’t manage you all or if you’re all just too lazy." 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

"Our shop has a delivery machine," Sha Wujing said, "I’m sure a personage of Her Majesty’s status has a delivery machine at home too. Since she personally came to Chaos Residence to dine, it must have been out of her own will, and not because our shop only offers dine-in services."

Sha Wujing was not someone who would take offenses lying down, and Xuan Feng’s words were snide and even less courteous than those of Tian Peng and Sun Wukong.
