Chapter 426: Chapter 426: Knowing More People is Good

"Crops don’t come with a yard, so of course I’d buy a residence." Chen Nuo said with a look of it being self-evident.

"What I want is a quick harvest. What if mortals see it in an ordinary field? Then I can forget about my plans that follow."

Jin Zha thought for a moment and supposed that was right; after all, mortal money wasn’t exactly a rarity to them.

Buying the entire city was more than possible for them, but the Jade Emperor had expressly forbidden actions that significantly affected the mortal realm. Besides, they didn’t have that much spare interest.

"What’s your upcoming plan?" Jin Zha recalled what Chen Nuo said at the restaurant about oil pressing. "Are you planning to plant peanuts for oil extraction?"

"Exactly," Chen Nuo answered, "but not just peanuts. Soybeans, sunflowers, and rapeseed can all be used for oil pressing too. I’ll first see which yields more oil and which has flavors that appeal to more people."

Jin Zha nodded but still didn’t understand quite fully, "Chen, you’re so skilled at cooking, why not just open a restaurant in this small town instead of planting crops and pressing oil?"

"The restaurants in this small town have already established their own system, and I don’t plan to settle here permanently. If I cook, I will take business away from the other restaurants. Within a few years, they’d go bankrupt due to a lack of income. What would happen to this small town when I leave if there’s not a single restaurant left?" Chen Nuo explained.

"Right, I hadn’t even thought of that," Jin Zha realized suddenly. "Chen, you’ve considered everything."

Chen Nuo gave another reason, "Moreover, cooking costs me cultivation. The gold and silver these mortals give are hardly worth me lifting a finger to cook."

That was quite an arrogant statement, but it was true. Although cooking cost him little in terms of cultivation, it was still a consumption. Otherwise, it wouldn’t awaken divine skills in immortals.

Besides, there were so many mortals. If it caused a sensation, it could lead to surrounding folks flocking to his place for food, which wouldn’t be good.

He was quite confident in his cooking. If he really decided to cook here, he might indeed cause a sensation.

Jin Zha agreed. Chen Nuo was right; if the immortals couldn’t resist his cooking, what about these mortals? If Chen Nuo let a mortal ascend to immortality on the spot due to eating his dishes, that would be problematic.

"You’re making sense," Jin Zha conceded. "It’s just that the houses here are all set up. If you want to grow crops, won’t everything inside need to be cleared out?"

"Yes, indeed." Chen Nuo looked at the various structures in the courtyard, the artificial hills and waters, and the pond. Each one was not easy to deal with.

"Do you need help then?" Jin Zha asked. "Even with spells, it will take quite a while, won’t it?"

"Not long," Chen Nuo said. "Everything just needs to be leveled."

"How are you going to do that?"

Jin Zha, looking at the intact courtyard, was at a loss for where to begin. The task seemed daunting just at the sight of it, let alone doing it.

"Don’t worry, I have helpers." Chen Nuo tapped his temple, activating his divine skills.

Jin Zha also thought of the Immortal Officials who could manage such tasks, but none seemed to fit the job perfectly.

While he was thinking, several plumes of smoke suddenly appeared. Jin Zha saw his third brother and Tian Peng standing together.

"Nezha, what are you doing here?"

"Oh, big brother, of course I’m here to help Shopkeeper Chen," Nezha said, tying up his long hair behind his ears. If one looked just at the face, there was little difference from a young girl’s.

"No, but how can you help with this?" Jin Zha was puzzled. His third brother only knew how to use Samadhi True Fire, apart from that what could he do?

"Well, if it isn’t Jin Zha, what brings you together with our Shopkeeper?" Tian Peng also inquired.

"Oh, I came to Mount Taihang and happened to run into him," Chen Nuo answered indifferently. "Let’s catch up later. First, help me tidy this place up."

"Okay," Tian Peng pulled up his sleeves to his shoulders, looking at the courtyard in front of him, "How do we do it, Shopkeeper?"

"Flatten everything except for the rooms inside into the ground," Chen Nuo said.

Tian Peng was stunned, his face bearing the same expression Jin Zha had just had, "Flatten, flatten everything? Why?"

"Just do it, I’ll explain after you’ve finished," Chen Nuo said.

"Alright, since it’s an order from you, Shopkeeper, I’ll definitely do it well." Tian Peng flung his magic artifact into the air, and then it fell heavily to the ground.

There had been a welcome wall at the entrance, and as the magic artifact came crashing down, it smashed the wall until it was as flat as the ground.

Following Tian Peng’s casting spells, the magic artifact began to spin in the courtyard, smashing the walkways, trees, rockeries, one by one into pieces.

Jin Zha watched in amazement from the side. Such destructive power really could only be achieved by Tian Peng.

And he controlled the magic artifact very well; although the fallen walls would kick up dust, the smoke did not drift their way. Everything that should fall did fall, and what shouldn’t, didn’t even get grazed.

This place was a wilderness, with not a single household within ten miles. Indeed, Chen Nuo had considered everything thoroughly—no one in the vicinity would notice what was happening here, which gave Tian Peng plenty of room to work. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

Within half an incense stick’s burning time, Tian Peng had finished the job.

Tian Peng wiped the sweat from his forehead, "Shopkeeper, it’s all taken care of."

"Hmm," Chen Nuo nodded and then said to Nezha, "Please burn the ground with Samadhi True Fire."

"You got it, leave it to me," Nezha replied, taking out his Wind Fire Wheels. Before activating them, he said to Chen Nuo, "Shopkeeper Chen, don’t forget."

"I know. When the time comes, just give the blueprints to Weaver Girl," suddenly a photograph appeared in Chen Nuo’s hand, and he waved it at Nezha.

Ever since Nezha had learned from Weaver Girl that Chen Nuo could design clothes—and design them well—he would occasionally come to Chaos Residence to speak well of him.

However, he had left empty-handed several times. One time, out of frustration, Chen Nuo directly gave Nezha a dress to send him away.

Little did he know, after putting on the dress, Nezha’s attributes nearly maxed out, causing him to become even more excited.

If it hadn’t been for Chen Nuo’s stern words, Nezha probably wouldn’t have returned to Heavenly Court for the rest of his life and would have settled down around Chaos Residence instead.

Nezha’s eyes lit up at the sight of the blueprints; he started circling the courtyard with his Wind Fire Wheels, imbuing them with Samadhi True Fire, turning everything they touched to ashes.

The attributes of the Samadhi True Fire were different from ordinary fire; it could turn even copper and iron to ash.

Looking at the scorched courtyard in front of him, Chen Nuo was quite satisfied; this was exactly what he wanted.

Nezha took the blueprints, "How come this time Shopkeeper Chen isn’t giving me a dress, but having Weaver Girl make it instead? What if the effect is different?"

Of course, it was because the system wasn’t there, and Nezha could only rely on the blueprints. However, as long as the blueprints were available, the dress would turn out the same regardless of who made it.

"Just take it to her. Weaver Girl has awakened a divine skill; you should not underestimate her," Chen Nuo found a reason.

"Alright then, I’ll go now." Nezha saw nothing amiss and even felt that what Chen Nuo said made a lot of sense.

So, holding the blueprints, he left in high spirits.
