Chapter 188: The performance part two

On the last row of the seats. The Santos family was there including Ethan. Petal had invited the family out of politeness but she didn’t think that they would attend. The family sat there enjoying the concert

"She looks beautiful playing the cello. I must record this." She unlocked her phone and started to record the concert. Later she will give it to Petal.

Ethan sat there silently watching her with a smile on his face. He didn’t imagine that she would be this beautiful holding the cello as she played it. She was breathtaking. Alluring. She seemed so focused and was like she was in her own world. He said that he can go downstairs and congratulate her personally after the concert but that was not an option now. He will settle with watching her from afar for now.

Soft sad music filled the Orchestra hall. Getting everyone’s attention. Focusing on the heart-moving melodies that they were hearing. Even him. The cold-hearted Ethan Wilson was moved by the music but his attention and Focus were only on one certain musician. It was her. Petal. The girl who catches the attention of everyone.

Ethan watched how everyone admired some for her talent and others for her beauty. Tonight. She was the center of attention and she wasn’t even aware of it. Once again he found himself falling in love deeply with her again. Like it’s the first time. As it’s the first time he sees her.

"She’s crying." Ethan muttered under his breath. Not knowing If she was crying because of pain and exhaustion or because of the pain in her heart.

He wanted to walk up to her and wipe her tears. Kiss them away and tell her that everything is going to be okay. But, it’s impossible right now.

How badly he wanted to wait for her by the stage and take her in his arms once the concert ended. He wanted to apologize. For them to get back together. He wanted her to look at him the same way she used to look at him. He wants in his arms. In his bed every morning.

"Oh, God. I’m so screwed." Ethan whispered to himself

Out of the two of them. He was the most desperate one. Ethan always believed that he had good control over himself but it turned out that he’s wrong. Loving Petal proved that he’s not. He wanted for her to tie him up. Punish him as long as she wants and when she gets her enough he wants her to come back to him.

Ethan chuckled to himself realizing how sick he was and perverted too. But that’s all because of her. She made him that way.

Lana was watching how her son was staring at the stage with full attention knowing where his eyes exactly were looking at. It was pained to see the sad look on his face. She wanted nothing but her children’s happiness but it never happened for some reason. Maybe it’s not meant to be or maybe that time hasn’t come yet. She didn’t know.

She wanted Petal to be her son’s wife. She was the perfect one for him. She understood as no one did. They loved each other and they seemed happy. That’s all she cared about. She wasn’t like her sister. Only looking for girls from Noble families to make her son marry one of them. Lana believes that Petal and Ethan are fated and one day they will come back to each other and reunite. Or that is what she tried to convince herself with.

----

An hour later the performance ended. Petal went back to the dressing room to rest for a while. The performance was exhausting but it was perfect. Everything went well and she was happy. Now she has to wait for the results by the end of the evening.

Entering the bathroom. She washed her hands and cleaned her wounds watching the water turn red into the sink. For over fifty minutes she kept on playings without stopping one music piece after the other but she felt proud of herself. She was able to handle the pain and the exhaustion.

Drying her hands. Petal checked her appearance in the mirror before she left the bathroom.

"The performance was spectacular. Everyone did their best. I think we’re going to take the first spot." One of the students said.

"We better do. We worked so hard. I won’t settle for less than that." The other girl said and the rest of the students laughed.

Petal smiled as she took a seat in the corner of the room.

"I wonder who will take the best student musicians prize?" A third student asked.

One of them turned to look at PetaI and said. "I guess Petal will win it. She’s very talented. Most of the sponsors we asking about her."

Petal knew that they weren’t praising her out of kindness. They want her to introduce her to the sponsors. How sad. Even after her father died and he no longer has control over her she still isn’t able to make friends. That’s alright. She doesn’t need them. She’s fine on her own.

"Miss PetaI. Two women are looking for you. They said their names are Lana and Alice." The teacher said as he entered the room.

Petal nodded her head and stood up walking out of the room well aware of the glare that she was reserving from her classmates but she continued on her way and walked out of the room.

People always fear what they don’t know. She thought to herself.

"There she is." Alice said seeing Petal walking towards them She ran towards her. " Congratulations. You were so good and you looked so sexy." She added teasing her as she hugged.

"Now now. Alice. don’t teas our dear Petal." Lana scolded her daughter softly.

"I’m not. I’m just saying the truth." Alice said as pulled away.

Petal smiled. It felt good to have them here.
