Island Survival: Starts by chopping a tree-Chapter 73 - 64 The start of the plan
Jeff, seeing this skill, was oustanded that he actually had a skill that can let him see twice as a normal person could see.
"A real-life superpower," He mused to himself.
So he decided to give it a try. When he activated the skill, his vision became sharper.
The range was also increased, surprising him. The sight that his eyes could see for 100 meters felt like it was just 5-10 meters away from him.
He can even see some birds sleeping in some trees and flies flying around, which makes him nod in satisfaction.
"With this and the combination of my archery, my chances for defeating Comodo dragons will greatly increase," Jeff uttered with a grin on his face.
With this skill, his chances of fighting back increased, but he still needed to make some plans, so he checked the arrow and its wood tip.
"Can this wooden arrow pierce the scale of the Comodo dragon?" He asked himself as he touched the tip of the arrow.
"Hmm, let’s try it first, and if not, then let’s make a tougher one," Jeff uttered, making this decision.
His plan for fighting that beast is to tire it out, even though the process will likely take days.
This is plausible because he does not really need to risk himself by taking it down in one day.
If he ever had the ability to do so, Jeff decided to catch some prey first. He needs to see what his capabilities are right now before engaging.
Looking at the dark forest, a smile adorned his lips, as he was going to begin his hunt from this day onwards.
He then marched away, leaving the girls in the camp still sleeping. As he was inside, he greatly hid his presence.
The bow was already loaded with the arrow as his eyes swiped the surrounding area. After sneaking inside and went deeper into the forest.
He needs to be careful since what will happen if there is another extinct animal popping out of nowhere?
Rustle
A sound was heard, making him alert. Not far from him, an animal was making a sound.
Jeff slowly walked in that way, and as he popped his head out from the tree, he was surprised. What he saw was a deer, a great size at that.
Jeff froze in place, his eyes locking onto the deer standing just a few meters away. It was a medium-sized creature, about 3.5 feet (1 meter) tall at the shoulder and weighing approximately 100–150 pounds (45–68 kilograms).
Its coat was a warm reddish-brown, dappled with faint white spots along its sides, blending perfectly with the surrounding forest.
The deer’s slender legs were built for speed, and its black-tipped ears twitched at every sound. Its dark, liquid eyes scanned the area cautiously, and the small, sharp hooves dug slightly into the ground as it shifted its weight.
"This deer, if I’m right, must be a Mutjac, also known as the Barking deer, " he thought, looking at it.
Because of its appearance, like its reddish-brown fur, and some of its markings that had faint white patches on the underside and face.
This deer in front of him is a male since it had small, backward curving antlers, with its small elongated canine teeth, which they used for defense and fighting rivals.
"Mubtjacs are solitary or live in small groups, but this little guy is alone. They are highly alert, so I have to take it by surprise," Jeff concluded as he positioned the bow.
Using the experience the system had given him, he followed the shadowy guy movements etched into his muscle.
His stand and the way he handled the bow is not a novice anymore, with one eye closed he was not breathing so he will not shake during this moment.
This animal is mostly found in south and southeast Asia, including India, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Thailand, Indonesia, and Southern China.
This deer prefers tropical and subtropical forests. It is often found near dense undergrowth or bamboo thickets. It is also known to thrive in lowland and hilly areas with access to water sources.
Exhaling a little bit of air, his eyes glint red as he inserted his strength in the arrow activating his skill.
[Piercing Arrow activated...]
The tip of the bamboo arrow glinted with power, and his eyes were empty. As Jeff released the arrow, the faint whistle of its flight cut through the air.
The deer, which was very much minding its own business with its instincts honed through years of survival, seemed to tingle with warning.
At the last moment, it jumped, narrowly avoiding the full impact of the arrow. Instead, the sharp tip grazed its hind leg, leaving a shallow cut.
The deer uttered a startled bark-like cry, its black-tipped ears twitching as it darted deeper into the forest, vanishing among the undergrowth.
Seeing this, Jeff muttered with anxiety. "Not good,"
He chased it, already notching his second arrow. His feet moved instinctively, his breathing steady as he followed the trail of broken twigs and disturbed foliage.
With the effect of the skill ’Hawkeye’ enhanced his tracking skills and senses when it came to hunting.
So, even if the deer tried to run its way to make him lose sight of it, he was very wrong.
The deer was fast, its slender legs carrying it effortlessly through the dense forest. Jeff caught a glimpse of its reddish-brown fur disappearing behind a cluster of underbrush.
Drawing his bowstring, he fired his second arrow. The shot whizzed past the deer, missing its mark entirely.
"Damn," Jeff cursed under his breath, the tension rising as he notched his final arrow.
He slowed his steps, listening intently for the faint rustle of leaves. His heart pounded in his chest, not from exertion but from the anticipation of the hunt.
Every movement and sound were calculated and analyzed. Hunting can actually be fun like this, which makes him very happy.
Suddenly, he saw it—the deer had stopped momentarily, perhaps hoping to shake its pursuer.
Its body was partially hidden behind a thick tree trunk, but its head and neck were exposed.
Jeff crouched low, taking his time. Closing his eyes as the experience given by the system guided him, he opened his eyes once more and activated his skill.
[Precision Shot activated...]
The bowstring tightened as Jeff drew it back to his jawline, his muscles steady and unwavering.
His breathing slowed, his vision narrowing to focus entirely on the target. Time seemed to stretch as he exhaled gently and released.
The arrow flew with overwhelming, its trajectory straight and true. It struck the deer just behind the shoulder, a clean shot piercing its heart.
The deer staggered for a moment, its dark eyes wide with shock before it collapsed to the ground, motionless.

The notification sounded, and he nodded his head in appreciation. Now, he does not need to check if it’s dead or not.
Since the system had already stated that it was dead, then he did not need to stand his guard.
Jeff approached the dead deer, his heart still racing from the adrenaline of the chase. Standing over the fallen deer, he felt a great appreciation for the creature.
"You gave me a good hunt," he murmured softly, kneeling beside it.
"Thank you," he said gratefully.
The forest around him was quiet now. It was still somewhat dark, so he couldn’t see very much.
He decided to take this deer back since it had lots of uses, especially its hide, which was very useful to be added to his resources for making clothes.
When he was about to prepare, another rustling sound was heard, making him stand cautiously as he took the last arrow.
Since the two remaining arrows, he had not picked them up yet. His ears perked up as he heard it again.
Jeff tightened his grip on the bow, slowly leaving the deer creeping towards the source of the rustling.
The faint sound came again. It was a rhythmic rustle followed by a low, guttural cooing noise with a strange warbling tone.
"What kind of bird or chicken is making this sound?" Jeff uttered, feeling confused.
It was unlike anything he had heard before. With only the whispers of the wind and leaves in the quiet of the forest, the animal sound could only be heard.
Moving carefully through the undergrowth, he moved very slow and careful as he brushed aside some ferns.
And when he did, that he finally spotted the creature causing the noise. His eyes widened slightly as he took in its peculiar appearance.
