Isekaied Into An Eroge, Time To Have Fun!-Chapter 130: My Favorite Classes (1)
The return home and immediate flop into the bed was immaculate, while the breakfast spent in the company of friends got me ready for the day to come; the first half of the day went by without any issue at all, while lunch was just as eventful as ever.
All of the things I had been learning were still bouncing around in my skull every single time someone thrust themselves deep inside of me, and after what happened last night Sera was more accepting of me getting a little handsy...
I was beginning to treat the first half of my day as a bit of a warmup of both the body and the mind rather than classes I had to take extremely seriously, though that isn’t to say I was slacking off in them.
I still answered everything Professor Hollishire asked of me, I still trained hard beneath the very ’heavy’ gaze of Professor Bo’Katari, and I continued to study hard inside of the Mirabella Atoma Library while asking Professor Maryanne questions about everything.
The ’issue’ was the difficulty of those classes compared to my final two, and the fact that the final two were the classes that were constantly on my mind because I wanted to pursue a ’career’ in both of those fields.
Alchemy in particular was just never going to leave my mind as I thought about all of the potions I could make and how I could make so much money as long as I reached a certain level; I could buy a house in the city big enough for me and someone else, have my own little garden and turn the house into an Alchemy Laboratory...
There were so many ways for me to sell my potions to people and make an egregious amount of money so long as I was being smart about things, and there was also many ways to get myself invited to certain special events that would introduce me to some very wealthy people.
People who could give me a minor noble lifestyle without any issue whatsoever so long as I wasn’t a complete idiot and pissed them off, which was pretty easy to not do since most of them were relaxed, quiet people.
That was why I loved the idea of Alchemy, because while concocting potions was definitely fun and helping people remain healthy was a heartwarming feeling, the money was what was driving me currently.
Being able to live a life unfettered by most issues was something that was just far too appealing to me right now, especially after being not so far removed from sleeping in a dingy dorm slurping on noodles barely worth a dollar.
That wasn’t living, it was just surviving, and I was tired of just surviving; I wanted to really live, and having boatloads of money would make living all that much easier, especially in a world like this... because making money wasn’t as hard as it once was.
There were opportunities everywhere waiting to be grasped by practically everyone, and with a little elbow grease and some intelligence I could take those opportunities and let them roll into bigger and better things.
That was why I was so enamored by the last two classes I had, because they were the beginning of so many different opportunities; Alchemy in particular, but Enchanting was also an art form that could rake in thousands upon thousands of Crowns if I had the talent and work ethic.
So whenever I emerged from the lunch period feeling all refreshed and ready to go I was so happy that the next thing I got to do was walk into an Alchemy Laboratory and start refining the paltry skills I had in this field of study.
Today we were rather blessed that Professor Jezebyra had apparently gotten sick and tired of only dealing with Salves, so she threw away her lesson plan for the week and told us immediately that we were going to be doing anything but concocting Salves for at least another week.
The Eclipse Elf was beyond enthusiastic to get us all gathered around the main table to watch her as she began to show us the process for concocting basic Healing Potions, utilizing the abundance of Healing Salves we had made to create something even better.
Letting that thick reddish paste plop down into the bottom of a beaker, Professor Jezebyra explained the process in detail while she showed it to us, measuring everything out and making sure we saw all of the seven ingredients that were going to be used.
The Healing Salve was put in first - allowed to just slowly spread out across the bottom of the beaker - before a gram of ground Rubystalk was sprinkled overtop of it, which she mixed thoroughly together.
Then a gram of Choler Sap alongside two cups of Mana Water was mixed in with that, creating the base of what we knew to be Healing Potion, and it was set to boil with a Dragon Leaf floating around its surface.
Letting it boil for a few minutes, Professor Jezebyra took the time to grind the remaining two ingredients together, which were Moonwatcher Petals - these silvery, somewhat translucent petals that emitted a sweet scent - and surprisingly Rose Petals, using something I actually knew for once.
Apparently Rose Petals had some sort of reactant inside of them that brought out the potency of the Choler Sap, which would accelerate the healing process drastically which made the Healing Potions as ’strong’ as they were.
All of this was recorded down in our notebooks as we made sure to follow every single step she took, knowing that within a few minutes we were going to be doing this ourselves and getting graded on it too.
She even threw in the prices of all of the ingredients just to make sure we understood what we were handling, and hearing that the total production cost of the Healing Potion would run you only a single Crown was just... mind boggling.
That was so... well, not ’cheap’ but definitely not as expensive as I was thinking, especially not when most places sold these large vials of Healing Potions for 3-5 Crowns each; if we took this batch and put it into smaller vials we could get half a Crown easily, which would bring in more since we could get about a dozen small vials from this...
Not an insane amount of money but far more than I had thought possible, and it was all from something as simple as this... a few steps and I could turn a single Crown into 5 Crowns, all for merely ten or so minutes of work... that was incredible, and it only reaffirmed my love for Alchemy.
The entire process of creating something so awesome with your own skill was something that just resonated with me, as I am sure it resonated with everyone; I just found the idea of concocting some sort of elaborate and impressive potion that ’did’ something to be quite alluring, to say the least.
So when I was sent back to my own station, given the ingredients and told to follow the instructions shown to us I did so in earnest, checking with my notebook every few seconds as I copied it as best I could.
Plopping the paste into the beaker and then grinding up a gram of Rubystalk to toss in after it, I got the first part done extremely quickly, before I began to take my time as I prepared the Mana Water and Choler Sap.
Creating that ingredient from scratch without any help was a bit worrisome since I just had that mild nagging fear in the back of my mind that I was going to mess up somehow and waste all of these ingredients, but I pushed through anyways.
The Mana Water was still going to be a ’problem’ for me going forwards since I was so unconfident in its creation, but I think it was something I could dedicate a day to this weekend to finally ’perfect’ as best as I could.
The further into the recipe I got the more I realized it was actually really simple and dare I say, even somewhat easy, though until the concoction was finished and I had a ’decent’ potion sitting in front of me I was very reluctant to think that way.
Mixing it all together and then setting it to boil, I watched it closely and with a lot of interest as it went from a ruddy red to a sparkling, gorgeous crimson that reminded me a lot like wine, though I don’t think it would taste as good...
Even the sweetness of that Moonwatcher Petal couldn’t possibly mask the taste of the other ingredients, which all had a very bitter, medicinal scent to them; however, weirder things were definitely possible so I wasn’t ruling that out either.
At the end of this I had a beautiful looking vial of liquid that I was praying Professor Jezebyra would tell me was passable, because if it was I might just take a longer trip into the Dungeon to get some money and then buy these ingredients myself...
It’s never too early to start making money, right?
