Isekai Adventure in the Dimensional Cube-Chapter 1537 - 1072: Divine Artifacts Everywhere
The magma world beneath the earth!
This kind of place, Reiger isn’t completely unfamiliar with.
Not only is he familiar, but Reiger has seen multiple places just like it.
For example, the ruins at the Neutral Zone between Akasha Continent’s Ginas Kingdom and Leiblu Kingdom, deep there lies an underground magma area sealing the Fire Dragon King. It was at that location where Reiger first encountered the Ice Maiden, Charity Himalafuzz, from the sanctuary, and almost killed her by striking her into magma.
In the Maze City Orario of the Earth Mistake World, the 44th floor of the underground city also hosts volcanic terrains inhabited by fiery magma demons, although it is not completely filled with lava, the terrain is quite similar to a lava region.
Moreover, Reiger once traveled as an adventurer in the world of Overlord, where he battled the famed Molten Rock Ruler in the Molten Lava Region of Angelicia Mountains, even diving directly into the magma to fight. So, tallying up all the magma places Reiger has experienced, it’s quite a lot.
Yet, even so, Reiger has never seen a city built directly within magma.
It appears like a city floating on water, settled directly into the magma. Red lava rivers surround it, with only the city gate connected via a drawbridge to a nearby cliff, which is designed with a stairway.
The stairway spirals upward along the cliff walls, reaching the cave at the ceiling of the underground space.
That cave might be the official entrance and exit.
Unfortunately, Reiger and his team didn’t enter through the official way but came by burrowing with an underground dragon.
"Is that the underground city of the dwarven patrol area?"
Melo murmured to himself, his tone carrying hints of awe and wonder.
"To think it was truly built right upon the magma; the dwarves’ craftsmanship constantly surpasses our understanding."
Naisa also couldn’t help but speak out.
On the surface, that city seems simply built upon the magma, but surely dwarves had to overcome numerous issues to make it habitable.
The simplest problem being the provision of oxygen needed for humans in such a magma-filled underground space.
Upon arriving, Reiger and his companions felt only slightly hot, without encountering other issues.
Oxygen was ample, like being on the ground, without any unusual odors. Even the black smoke from the magma mysteriously disappeared after rising to a certain height. No scent of sulfur was anywhere, and aside from feeling hot and the air being a bit dry, there was nothing abnormal.
The cause of such an outcome must be the meticulous arrangements made by the dwarves addressing various survival issues, as there’s no other possibility.
"Roar!"
At this very moment of astonishment, the ground dragon roared, and with an incredible leap, jumped over the magma below, landing in front of the underground city’s gate.
"Snap!"
At the exact time, Reiger snapped his fingers, and the scene before everyone’s eyes blurred. When they regained clarity, they found themselves back on solid ground.
Then—
"Hahaha!"
A hearty laughter burst from inside the city gate, thundering like a loud rumble in everyone’s ears.
Reiger lifted his head and gazed forward.
He wasn’t looking at the gate, but at a spot upon the city wall above.
There, unnoticed until now, a figure had appeared.
"My dear granddaughter! Have you finally decided to visit your grandpa?"
With such cheerful laughter, the person leapt off the city wall, landing in front of everyone.
"Boom!"
With a resounding crash, dust rose into the air, and the ground quivered slightly, scattering fragments around the landing spot.
Soon, everyone clearly saw the figure slowly emerge from the dust.
It was a stocky and muscled dwarf donned in a roughly tanned work suit resembling beast hide, with a bottle of liquor at his waist. Hair covered his entire body thickly, especially the chin, where a long beard hung, sweat marks visible everywhere on this elder dwarf.
Seeing this elder dwarf, Reiger felt it was like looking at Grandpa Grace and like meeting Ecter of the fairy tribe from Fairy Country, who Altoria mentioned. This dwarf gave the impression of being both a blacksmith and a warrior.
"Is this the dwarf of this world?"
He appeared not very different from the dwarves Reiger was familiar with.
Reiger observed him with interest, finding it hard to imagine how this hairy elderly dwarf could actually be Lilicia’s grandfather, and the father of Sagelros Empire’s petite and lovely Queen Consort.
"Grandpa!"
Lilicia joyfully rushed toward him.
"Haha! Dear granddaughter!"
