Isekai Adventure in the Dimensional Cube-Chapter 1536 - 1071: The Dwarves’ Underground City (Part 2)
"Beluti sister... so amazing!"
Lilicia’s eyes sparkled, almost unable to hold back a cheer.
"...Is this the affinity of Saint Beluti?"
"...Rumor has it that even magical creatures are unwilling to attack her, seems it’s no mere hearsay."
Melo and Naisa exchanged glances again, unable to help but feel awe towards the girl gently stroking the dragon’s head.
"Is such a thing really possible?"
Reiger, too, felt as if his eyes had been opened, clicking his tongue in wonder.
As for Jelina and Hilune, they only felt that for the first time they were outmatched in affinity by a "ordinary" human, leaving them very impressed with Beluti.
It’s known that Nymphs are a life race very close to nature, inherently maxed out in affinity.
Yet even such a race cannot make magical creatures like them at first sight.
Beluti, however, has accomplished this, making Jelina and Hilune unable not to admire her.
For a moment, everyone subconsciously avoided disturbing Beluti, letting her interact with the dragon on her own.
"Roar!"
The dragon, however, wasn’t completely absorbed by Beluti, after interacting a bit, let out another roar.
Upon hearing it, Beluti turned, looking at Reiger’s group.
"Sir." Beluti abruptly said, "This dragon could be the guide sent by the dwarves."
"Oh?" Reiger raised an eyebrow, "It’s the guide?"
"Yes." Beluti nodded with a smile, "This dragon seems to be a magical creature living in this mountain for a long time."
"In this mountain, there might not be just this dragon, but rather an entire tribe residing here."
"The dwarven tribe stationed here ages ago, making it their stronghold."
"Thus, the dragons residing in this mountain likely have formed some coexistence with the dwarves."
In other words, the dragons here might all be magical creatures trained by the dwarves.
Just as the Careadohart Empire’s Sky Division trains flying magical creatures, the dwarves train a whole tribe of dragons in this mountain.
Now, Reiger and others have traveled a long way to visit, the dwarves have sent a powerful dragon to lead them.
"Is that correct, Mr. Dragon?"
Beluti returned focus to the dragon, gently inquiring.
"Roar!"
The dragon roared, neither nodding nor shaking its head, but everyone could decipher its affirmation.
The humane aspect alone proves this dragon is not wild, but tamed; otherwise, it couldn’t understand human language.
"How do we reach the dwarves’ underground city?"
Lilicia impatiently spoke, eager to set off and enter the underground city.
Indeed, the princess found the dwarves’ stronghold intriguing, and couldn’t wait to witness it.
She thought to herself, had she known it’d be this interesting, she’d have come sooner.
After all, her grandfather resides here with the highest status, inviting her countless times.
Meanwhile, as soon as Lilicia spoke, the dragon lowered itself, lying flat on the ground.
"Could it be asking us to ride it?"
Reiger, somewhat understanding, asked Beluti.
"Should... be the case?"
Beluti wasn’t very sure either.
She couldn’t speak in magical creature language, reading its thoughts was already difficult.
"Let’s give it a try then."
Reiger thought for a moment, snapping his fingers to release [Unjust Game] power, transferring everyone onto the dragon’s back at once.
"Roar!"
Feeling the weight on its back, the dragon roared loudly, stood up, and dashed underground.
"Careful! Hold on tight!"
Melo barely had time to shout before the dragon dived below.
As dust surged fiercely, the dragon burrowed through, making its way rapidly underground.
"Aaaahhhhhhhhhh...!"
The screams of the girls echoed through the depths as the dragon tunneled at incredible speed, moving over a hundred meters swiftly, almost at subsonic speed, horrifyingly quick.
Oddly, those on the dragon’s back neither felt suffocation nor dirt covering them, instead feeling like riding a roller coaster, crazily descending, causing each to scream while clutching the dragon’s back to avoid being flung off.
Reiger was the sole person maintaining a stable posture, standing semi-crouched on the dragon’s back, though adorned with girls of various sizes, putting him in a mixed state of pain and joy.
The joy needs no elaboration, beauties pressing against him, warmth from soft bodies aplenty, enabling Reiger to deduce the girls’ body measurements.
The pain was simple, the girls’ nearby screams were an assault on the eardrums, an utter torment.
"Isn’t this the instant-death Magic [Banshee Scream]?"
Reiger felt his head about to explode, even considering activating [Limitless Cursed Technique] to keep the lethal sound waves "infinite" away.
Through the discomfort, he also observed the surroundings.
They indeed followed the dragon underground, yet the surrounding earth seemed softened, blocked at a distance close to the dragon, keeping everyone from suffocation or contact with dirt.
"Is this the dragon’s ability, or some magic?"
Reiger felt a subtle magic power released from the dragon, enveloping them, guessing perhaps the dragon’s exerting its strength, not a passive trait.
"Just like that underground beast."
Reiger mused.
Apart from the above, two changes emerged.
The changes related to temperature.
Entering the depths at first, the temperature lowered as the dragon delved deeper.
However, after a certain distance, the temperature began rising again.
Now, Reiger felt the underground heat surpassing above, like nearing a massive furnace.
"Could it be..."
Thinking of Melo’s earlier introduction to the dwarf stronghold, Reiger displayed realization when the dragon broke out of the earth.
"Boom!"
A roaring explosion, rocks and dirt scattered.
The massive dragon emerged, leaving the earth.
Reiger saw dust flying and stone fragments swirling, followed by a sudden vast open reveal.
"This..."
Beyond compare, even Reiger slightly widened his eyes.
Of course, not just Reiger, but the other girls too.
Having just finished gasping screams, feeling they were now above ground with the fall sensation gone, opening their eyes, the sight left them stunned.
First, eyes captured a sea of red.
Intense fiery red.
Deep underground, an immense cavern unveiled, resembling a massive subterranean hollow.
Within, rocky plates, stone forests, soil walls abounded, with fiery lava flowing like lakes below.
An underground city rested at the molten center, ancient and heavy.
