Isekai Adventure in the Dimensional Cube-Chapter 1243 - 906: Isn’t This More Convenient?
Faced with Zenin Maki’s confrontational attitude from the start, everyone else seemed accustomed to it.
Clearly, this athletic girl had always been like this, her words not particularly pleasant.
Reiger didn’t seem to mind, and just smiled lightly at Zenin Maki.
"Just a little accident, no need to mind, Senpai Zenin."
This response, like using two ounces to move a thousand pounds, made the second-year students glance meaningfully at Reiger.
"Accident?" Zenin Maki squinted her sharp eyes and let out a cold laugh, "Let’s just say it is."
"But don’t call me Zenin, I’ve already said I have nothing to do with that trash family."
"Alright." Reiger nodded with no objection, "I’ll remember that."
"...Hmph."
Seeing her provocation didn’t succeed, Zenin Maki snorted softly and said nothing more.
"Don’t mind it." Panda chimed in with a silly grin, "Maki doesn’t mean any harm, she’s just not used to showing her true self in front of strangers."
"Salmon."
Inumaki Toge nodded as if agreeing with Panda.
"Hey, you two stop badmouthing me."
Zenin Maki immediately shouted loudly.
"I can testify, Senpai Zenin has always been like this, but she means no harm... probably."
Fushiguro Megumi interjected in a timely manner, though it was unclear if this counted as helping.
"Be careful or I’ll kill you!" Zenin Maki said with annoyance, "And don’t call me Zenin, how many times do I have to say it?"
To change the subject and divert everyone’s attention away from herself, Zenin Maki looked at Reiger again.
"You came over here just to see how our training is going, right?" Zenin Maki asked directly, "You’ll participate in the Sister Schools Exchange Event in the Capital City in half a month, won’t you?"
"I suppose so." Reiger met Zenin Maki’s gaze, responding somewhat nonchalantly, "Gojo-sensei wants me to participate, I’d have to oblige him as a mentor."
Though he said that, Reiger was not entirely uninterested in the Sister Schools Exchange Event in the Capital City.
Of course, it wasn’t the prospect of squashing rookies that interested him, but the curse techniques used by the Curse Mages at Kyoto Prefectural Curse High School.
One of Reiger’s key objectives for joining the Curse High was to witness diverse curse techniques, learn them all, develop them selectively, and compensate for his own deficiencies.
(I hope the Kyoto Prefectural Curse High School side can surprise me as well.)
Reiger thought quietly to himself.
Unaware of Reiger’s thoughts, Zenin Maki crossed her arms, "You’re already a Special Grade, yet you participate in this student exchange event, how dull."
"Really?" Reiger raised an eyebrow, "As far as I know, Senpai’s peer, that Okkotsu Yuta, also participated in the Sister Schools Exchange Event last year, right?"
"You’re not the same as Yuta." Zenin Maki snorted, "That kid wasn’t as reliable at this time last year as he is now, nowhere near as big a deal as you made when you enrolled."
The one confused by Zenin Maki’s statement wasn’t Reiger, but Fushiguro Megumi.
"Is that so?" Fushiguro Megumi wondered, "But I heard that last year Okkotsu-senpai won all his matches, defeating both the second and third-year students at Kyoto Prefectural Curse High School."
It was not Zenin Maki who answered Fushiguro Megumi’s question, but Panda.
"That’s because the ’Curse’ he had ran wild, that’s why that happened." Panda made a sweaty gesture and action, "At that time, we really didn’t know how it would end, fortunately, Yuta managed to control the ’Curse,’ so there weren’t too many casualties."
"Salmon."
Inumaki Toge affirmed Panda’s statement.
"The ’Curse’..."
Fushiguro Megumi furrowed his brow at once, perhaps recalling something.
Reiger, however, still just smiled without continuing on this topic and shifted the subject.
"Anyway, I’ll be participating with the first-year trio in the Sister Schools Exchange Event in the Capital City in half a month, hope for your guidance." Reiger said, "Gojo-sensei’s suggestion is for me to train you if I have time, so if you need any help, feel free to ask."
"Oh?" Zenin Maki’s attention was indeed diverted, displaying a provocative expression again, "You’re going to train us? Does that mean you’re stronger than us?"
Faced with this question, Reiger’s answer was very calm.
"I’m afraid saying it out loud would be hurtful, so it’s better if Senpai doesn’t dwell on this point too much."
However, these words undoubtedly provoked Zenin Maki.
"Ha, just a cocky first-year student, you’re quite arrogant, aren’t you?" Zenin Maki seemed amused yet angry, "In that case, want to have a match with me? Special Grade!"
As she spoke, Zenin Maki raised a hand.
In that hand, she was holding a metal rod-like spear.
"Wait, Maki."
Seeing Zenin Maki raising her spear at Reiger, Panda quickly spoke up.
"Shut up, Panda." Zenin Maki didn’t even glance at Panda and stared at Reiger, "Don’t stop me, it’s a senior’s duty to test and correct the juniors."
