Invincible through Touching Corpses-Chapter 99 - 98: This is Unscientific
BANG BANG BANG!
Lin Xinghai didn’t pull the trigger quickly. He waited for the High Level Zombies to reveal an opening, firing the instant they dodged or attacked.
This was the moment they were often unable to change direction. Coupled with Lin Xinghai’s current Gun Technique, he didn’t even need to aim; he just raised his gun and fired.
By eliminating the aiming process, Lin Xinghai would have already pulled the trigger the very instant a High Level Zombie sensed danger.
The combination of these factors led to only one result: every shot was a direct hit.
...
The arrival of the Superpower Alliance squad for the rescue mission was, without a doubt, the matter of greatest concern to the Giant Hammer Mercenary Corps.
Although the members of the Giant Hammer Mercenary Corps knew a hunting squad was coming and had mentally prepared themselves, it would be a lie to say they weren’t disappointed when they saw just one multi-purpose off-road vehicle and only a few people.
Of course, they still held out hope that the newcomers had some special tricks up their sleeves.
After all, no Mercenary who survived the apocalypse was a fool. How could they dare wade into this mess without something to rely on?
Then, they watched as the group lingered at the edge of the Zombie horde. They didn’t pull out any high-powered weapons; there was only the young man sitting on the roof of the vehicle, seemingly firing his guns at random.
This scene infuriated many of the Mercenaries, their eyes glinting menacingly. From their perspective, the newcomers were just here to mess with them.
Otherwise, did they really think they could rescue them from the middle of a Zombie horde with just two Tearing Rifles?
They wouldn’t dare dream of such a thing.
What infuriated them even more was that the man was dual-wielding. Not even a top-ten Divine Sharpshooter from the marksmanship leaderboards would dare pull a stunt like that.
Combined with Lin Xinghai’s casual expression, it was no surprise they thought he was just toying with them.
But these men soon discovered that the High Level Zombies relentlessly attacking their Armored Vehicle were suddenly starting to die.
At first, they thought one of their own Mercenaries had gotten a lucky shot. After all, they’d been firing for so long, it was impossible they hadn’t hit anything, right?
Of course, the death of a single High Level Zombie couldn’t change their current predicament, so these Mercenaries only gave it a couple of extra glances.
However, no one expected this to be just the beginning. The High Level Zombies they had tried everything to hit but couldn’t, now started dropping dead one after another as if they were cursed.
Now, no one could remain calm. Everyone frantically looked around, trying to find the cause of this phenomenon.
Because this could very well be their only hope of escaping alive.
As they searched and searched, they finally discovered that the source of it all was the young man sitting on the off-road vehicle.
Every time he fired a shot, one of the High Level Zombies over here would drop dead.
This left the Mercenaries in disbelief. The whole thing felt like a fantasy.
But no matter what they thought, reality wouldn’t change just because they willed it to.
Every shot from Lin Xinghai was like a slap across their faces, forcing them to accept the reality of the situation.
The Mercenaries watched, somewhat stunned. But soon, they discovered something even more terrifying: Lin Xinghai’s Gun Technique was one hundred percent accurate.
For an average Mercenary, hitting an Ordinary Zombie half the time was already an incredible feat.
As for shooting High Level Zombies, a 10% hit rate was something most people wouldn’t even dare to dream of.
To hit High Level Zombies with one hundred percent accuracy was simply preposterous.
But such a thing was happening right before their eyes, and it kept happening, leaving them no choice but to believe it.
"This isn’t scientific! How could anyone’s Gun Technique possibly reach such a level?" one Mercenary said.
"If it’s not scientific, then consider it from the perspective of Superpowers. Maybe he has some kind of Superpower that enhances his shooting skill," someone immediately suggested.
And once they accepted this reality, all their various thoughts finally transformed into... joy, excitement, and ecstasy.
You could say their current level of elation was directly proportional to their earlier fury. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
No matter how he was doing it, his Gun Technique was a godsend for them.
"Can we... make it out of here?" a Mercenary finally asked the sensitive question, his voice trembling slightly.
"The probability is high. As long as he can kill all these High Level Zombies, our Armored Vehicle can hold out long enough to break out of Qingtang Town," someone immediately analyzed.
This shot a jolt of adrenaline through everyone. They began to fight back with renewed vigor. Even if their Gun Technique couldn’t hit the High Level Zombies, it was still good to put more pressure on them.
Just like that, the number of High Level Zombies Lin Xinghai had killed continued to climb. It soon surpassed twenty, then approached the thirty mark.
The members of the Giant Hammer Mercenary Corps were thrilled, but Lin Xinghai remained completely calm. He knew all along that the key to winning this battle didn’t lie with these High Level Zombies.
"It’s here," Ling Xiu suddenly called out, seemingly out of nowhere.
But Lin Xinghai knew he was talking about the Hunter.
This was the main task he had assigned to Ling Xiu. Finding a Hunter, which excelled at hiding and launching sneak attacks, within a dense Zombie horde was no easy feat.
Only someone like Ling Xiu, who possessed the Thousand-Mile Eye Superpower, could keep a constant lock on it.
’Finally can’t hold back anymore, huh?’ The corners of Lin Xinghai’s mouth curved into a slight smile.
His main purpose in killing the High Level Zombies was to lure out the Hunter.
A creature with a degree of intelligence like a Mutated Zombie would never just stand by and watch him ruin its plans.
Besides, compared to an Armored Vehicle that could contain a Mecha, he undoubtedly looked like an easier target.
Soon, the Hunter entered his Perception range. It used the cover of buildings to approach stealthily.
It quickly closed the distance to within 100 meters, but Lin Xinghai didn’t make a move. He continued to wait.
However, he did slow his rate of fire, focusing more of his attention on the Hunter.
But he soon realized that it wasn’t coming straight for them. Instead, it was circling around to their front.
At the same time, he noticed another wave of Zombies gathering ahead—nearly fifty of them—and they were charging in their direction.
Lin Xinghai immediately understood. The creature was planning to use the attack from this wave of Zombies to distract them, then launch a sneak attack.
"Tsk! A Hunter, through and through," Lin Xinghai couldn’t help but remark.
Then he gave an order to Ling Xiu, "In a moment, I might be too busy to deal with anything else. Use the Hand Cannon and blast them. Don’t let this mob of Zombies slow our Speed, or we’ll be in real danger if we get bogged down in the horde."
"Got it!" Ling Xiu nodded.
Zhang Meiling and Yao Cheng also tightened their grips on their Tearing Rifles. Even if they couldn’t help much, they were determined not to be a burden.
