Interstellar Beast World: All My Husbands Are Powerful and Rich!-Chapter 55: A terrifyingly effective pair
Nothing in the interstellar world was ever truly free. Every gift carried a price, and every miracle attracted greed.
A female born with a talent powerful enough to draw the attention of the Beast God was destined to become a coveted prize.
Countless males dreamed of becoming her mate, and countless factions schemed to place themselves as close to her as possible. That was precisely why such women were thrust into the spotlight of the entire interstellar society.
From the moment their potential was revealed, their lives ceased to belong to them.
Every step they took, every word they spoke, was recorded, uploaded to light-brain networks, and dissected endlessly by strangers. Under the excuse of "protection," the government forbade them from leaving the Central District.
In truth, it was nothing more than confinement disguised as concern. They lost their freedom quietly, without chains or bars—yet the cage was no less real.
Even their future mates were no longer chosen by affection or trust. Instead, they were assigned by Empire officials, carefully vetted followers selected to ensure obedience and control.
Outwardly, these women lived in luxury beyond imagination. Their homes were grand palaces, their meals prepared by the finest chefs, their training resources unrivaled.
But beneath the glittering surface, their happiness faded day by day. The more perfect their surroundings became, the more hollow their hearts grew.
Eventually, one of those females broke.
Unable to endure the suffocating existence any longer, she attempted to end her own life. Some said she was fortunate that her mate arrived in time to save her. Others argued that surviving was the crueler fate. From that day on, she never smiled again. Her eyes were empty, her spirit permanently dimmed.
Jasper and Dax refused to let Rory walk that same path.
Rory deserved freedom. She deserved the right to travel where she wished, to choose what she loved, to live boldly and honestly. She should never become a bird with shattered wings, trapped inside a golden cage constructed by the Empire in the name of protection.
That was why, the moment the incident occurred—and the moment they confirmed that Rory was still alive—Dax acted without hesitation. He immediately summoned the top technological experts from Starlight Prime Tech, ordering them to sever all Empire surveillance signals connected to Veridan City. Any footage captured by official systems was wiped clean without mercy.
Dax replayed the leaked video several times, his expression growing increasingly calm as he analyzed it.
"Judging from the angle," he said thoughtfully, "this wasn’t recorded by a government monitoring system. It looks like it was filmed manually—by another therian. And Rory herself doesn’t appear in the footage. It only shows the Blood Moon descending from the sky."
After Dax finished speaking, Jasper stepped closer and pointed at a section of the video displayed on the screen. "The female who posted this—Mindy Lane—claimed her mate recorded it. She said a level-eight beast attacked her, and the Blood Moon descended to save her."
Dax let out a short, amused laugh. "Yeah, I know her. That day, she entered the forest with Rory and another female named Gina. I didn’t expect her to throw herself into a trap like this."
He found the situation almost ironic.
Jasper smiled faintly. "In a way, Mindy helped Rory by doing this. As a reward, since she wants to go to the Central District, we can help her get there."
Despite their mutual dislike, the two males worked together with frightening efficiency. Jasper didn’t need to explain further. Dax had already instructed his subordinates to push Mindy Lane’s video to the top of every major network. He even added several trending tags to ensure it caught the Empire’s attention as quickly as possible.
Once that was done, Dax turned serious again. "Mindy is easy to handle. But Gina is different. That night, she saw with her own eyes that the Blood Moon saved Female Master. She is Rory’s close friend."
He paused before continuing, his voice lowering. "We can’t use brute force to silence her. If I remember correctly, your Violet Obsidian venom can erase portions of a therian’s memory, can’t it?"
Jasper understood instantly. "I’ll handle Gina," he said calmly. "She won’t say a word about what happened."
Dax’s gaze sharpened. "Make sure Female Master never finds out that we poisoned Gina and her mate."
Rory was too kind-hearted. She would never approve of such methods.
Jasper nodded. "I know my venom well. It won’t harm her—only remove the relevant memories. If Rory asks, we’ll say Gina took a harmless potion that causes temporary forgetfulness."
Behind the couch, Kather listened in silence, his expression twitching as he absorbed their conversation. He hadn’t expected the chaos he and Yuel caused to escalate to the point of invoking the Beast God itself. Still, the outcome benefited him. With the Blood Moon serving as the perfect cover, he and Yuel could remain completely hidden from the Empire’s scrutiny.
That said, Jasper and Dax were undeniably bold.
Targeting Mindy Lane was one thing—but poisoning Gina, even for memory alteration, was a serious crime under Imperial law. One was a ruthless serpent who dared to act without hesitation; the other, a cunning fox who dared to plan without remorse. Together, they were a terrifyingly effective pair.
One dared to think.
The other dared to act.
Kather shook his head helplessly. Fortunately, he was here. For Rory’s sake, if those two ever got caught crossing the line, he would step in to help clean up the mess. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
Jasper packed his things and cast a glance toward Kather hiding on the couch. Turning to Dax, he said, "Take care of that ugly thing. When I get back, I’ll make it look presentable."
He walked toward the door, then paused. Without turning around, he added quietly, "Rory values honesty. If you want her forgiveness, you’ll have to be honest with her first."
And with that, he left—leaving behind a plan that could reshape Rory’s fate, for better or worse.
