Interstellar Beast World: All My Husbands Are Powerful and Rich!-Chapter 100: A few hundred
Ethan shot Matt Slade a blazing glare, his temper finally snapping.
"You old bastard," he snarled. "You really don’t know when to shut up. What—are you trying to pick a fight?"
Matt didn’t bother answering with words. He simply rolled up his sleeves, cracking his neck as if he’d been waiting for this all along.
"Come on, then," he barked back. "You think I’m afraid of you?"
Before either of them had even finished speaking, the air detonated.
A thunderous shockwave burst outward as both elders transformed mid-motion, claws and scales flashing as the liger and dragon launched into each other. The sky itself seemed to recoil as massive bodies collided, talons raking and jaws snapping as they tore upward into the air.
Below them, Nix covered his face with both hands, ears flattening in despair.
...So much for no fighting, he thought bitterly.
Rory stared in stunned disbelief. They hadn’t even reached the Dragon Palace yet, and their so-called allies were already trying to kill each other.
She sprinted forward and shouted with everything she had, her voice cutting through the chaos.
"Elders! Please stop! We’re supposed to be on the same side! For my sake—please don’t fight each other!"
Nix quickly joined in, panic sharp in his tone.
"Uncle Matt, calm down! The ones we’re supposed to deal with are the two Rank 10 elders of the Violet Obsidian Clan—not our own people!"
Matt snorted mid-air, clearly still itching for violence, but Rory’s presence gave him pause. With a final huff, he disengaged and shifted back into human form, landing heavily beside Nix.
Ethan followed suit a second later, folding his wings back into his body as he transformed as well.
Matt shot Ethan a scornful look.
"I’m stopping out of respect for Female Master Rory," he said coldly. "Don’t get it twisted. We’re not friends. And you’d better go tell Paros this—if he can’t protect his own huntress, the least he can do is dissolve the bond himself instead of hiding behind others."
Then he turned to Rory, his demeanor shifting instantly.
"Female Master Rory, our Ravaryn territory is full of talented young males. Once we’re done crushing the Violet Obsidian Clan, you should come visit us."
Nix’s blood ran cold.
"I’ll personally pick out a dozen of the strongest, best-looking ones," Matt continued cheerfully. "When Nix is busy working, they can keep you company. Ravaryn males are experts at pleasing females—I guarantee you won’t be disappointed."
"UNCLE MATT, PLEASE STOP TALKING!"
Nix clamped a hand over his uncle’s mouth in sheer panic.
I haven’t even bonded with her yet, and he’s already trying to send a dozen competitors my way?!
I’d lose instantly!
Ravaryn males were infamous across the interstellar system—not just for strength, but for charm, devotion, and terrifying skill when it came to courting females.
Watching this unfold, Ethan Gabriel felt his anxiety skyrocket. He glanced at Rory, then thought of his own hopeless clan leader, and his face visibly crumpled.
The seven-hundred-year-old elder looked seconds away from tears.
"Female Master Rory, please don’t listen to him," Ethan pleaded. "Please don’t abandon Paros."
He swallowed and continued, sounding less and less confident with every word.
"He’s just... stubborn. And his temper isn’t great. He doesn’t talk much. He’s a bit arrogant. Not very good at showing care for others... but deep down, he’s still... well... sort of a good therian."
Even Ethan clearly didn’t believe what he was saying.
Matt was already snickering beside him, and if Nix hadn’t been physically restraining his uncle, he would have burst out laughing.
A good therian?
Please. Paros should be thanking the Beast God every single day for assigning him a huntress at all.
Rory couldn’t bring herself to watch a seven-hundred-year-old man hover on the edge of tears—especially when she still needed his cooperation.
She spoke gently. "I understand." 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Ethan looked up, hopeful.
"Setting those flaws aside," Rory continued calmly, "Paros really is a good therian."
To her, Paros was more of a work partner than anything else. Whether he was good or bad didn’t actually matter—but she said it anyway.
Ethan, earnest to a fault, completely missed the lack of emotional weight in her words. His face lit up as though she’d just given him salvation.
"Female Master Rory, you’re truly a wonderful female," he said fervently. "Thank the Beast God for letting Paros meet you."
Any other female would’ve dissolved the bond ages ago, he thought.
Leaning in conspiratorially, Ethan lowered his voice.
"You should also visit our Aquadome sometime. We have countless handsome, strong young males who know exactly how to treat a female properly. I could personally select a few hundred for you."
A few hundred, he thought proudly. Aquadome had no shortage.
"When Paros is busy, they can keep you company."
The conversation was rapidly descending into complete absurdity when Jasper returned and, mercifully, cut through the chaos.
"Everything’s ready," he announced calmly. "We can depart."
An hour later, Rory and her group boarded Matt’s starship and lifted off, streaking toward the Starrail Hub. From there, they would transfer onto the Starrail line bound directly for the Central District.
...
Not long after their departure, another vessel touched down before the Interstellar Hunter Alliance headquarters.
An elder of the Blood Moon Fox Clan stood uneasily before a screen, glancing at the man seated on the other side.
"Mr. Mayer," the elder ventured carefully, "are you truly not going after her? This would be your best chance to impress Female Master Rory."
Dax didn’t look away from the display showing the alliance grounds being rebuilt piece by piece.
"She wouldn’t want to see me," he replied flatly.
His voice was low, stripped of its usual sly amusement.
"Besides," he continued, eyes narrowing slightly, "with two Rank 10 powerhouses backing her, she’s more than safe."
He leaned back, gaze lingering on the screen.
"I’ll stay here and finish restoring the alliance. When she returns and sees it fully repaired... she’ll be happy."
And that, he decided, was enough.
