"Awful! This is just too awful!" A loud and arrogant voice suddenly rang out in the crowd, "I originally thought your Dragon Hunting Team had some skills. Turns out, it's just this?"

"Trash, it really is trash."

The two members of the Dragon Hunting Team were taken aback by the interruption and looked toward the source of the voice. "Who is it?"

As the crowd parted, a striking blue figure immediately caught Tianyang's eye.

Kun Lan!

A member of the Three-headed Dog team walked over with a cold smile, looking at the skinny monkey and his companion. "What a shame you guys still call yourselves Dragon Hunters. With such lowly tactics, you might as well change your name to Rat Hunters."

The skinny monkey pointed at him angrily. "Kun Lan, this isn’t your business, stop talking nonsense here."

Kun Lan didn’t respond and instead asked, "Shen San, you say you’re injured, right? And pretty badly?"

The skinny monkey immediately clutched his chest, feigning pain. "That's right, this kid made my wound burst open. It hurts like hell now."

"Oh, you better be careful then." Kun Lan blinked.

Kun Lan spread his hands and said, "Did I say anything wrong? On the battle rankings, where does your Dragon Hunting Team stand? Twentieth? Or maybe thirtieth?"

"Well, a low ranking is fine, but to use such childish methods to slander another team? Are you guys still not weaned? I was still hoping for you, but you’ve really let me down."

The skinny monkey frowned. "What exactly are you trying to say?"

With a shout, the skinny monkey nimbly rolled away as if he weren’t injured at all.

Cold sweat trickled down his back as he pointed at Kun Lan and yelled, "Damn it, Kun Lan, you lunatic! Why did you suddenly make a move?"

But he saw Kun Lan smiling, holding something up—a bloodied bandage.

The skinny monkey was stunned. "What do I need to be careful about..."

Before he finished his sentence, Kun Lan suddenly charged over, pulling out a curved blade hanging from his waist.

With the blade drawn, it gleamed coldly as it flashed toward Shen San's chest!

The other member of the Dragon Hunting Team's expression changed dramatically, suddenly pointing at the skinny monkey and shouting, "Shen San, what the hell are you doing? I really misjudged you; you can actually do something this despicable!"

The skinny monkey was momentarily bewildered, but at that moment, Kun Lan burst into laughter.

"Now this is getting interesting." The member from the Three-headed Dog team clapped, "Old Wan, you’re quite the character. When things turn against you, you clean up quickly."

The skinny monkey hurriedly looked down and realized Kun Lan had cut through the bandage on his chest. Now, the bandage fell away, revealing his bare skin.

On his chest was a blood bag!

The onlookers suddenly understood that the skinny monkey hadn’t been injured at all; the blood on the bandage had all been created by this blood bag!

"Could it be that I heard wrong?"

There was another uproar in the crowd. Kun Lan pointed, and people moved aside, revealing Xie Miao.

He had originally turned to leave, but now being stared at by dozens of eyes, he could only stop and turn around, expressionless, saying, "Kun Lan, I don’t know what you’re talking about."

Old Wan's expression turned serious. "Kun Lan, don’t make baseless accusations; I know nothing about what Shen San did."

"Is that so?"

Kun Lan suddenly pointed into the crowd. "Xie Miao, aren’t you going to come out? I saw you buddying up with these two idiots. I also heard something about a white-haired kid and the Raven Squad."

The three of them from Xie Miao’s side changed color simultaneously.

Kun Lan suddenly pointed at the skinny monkey. "If you don’t believe me, let Shen San take off his shirt so I can check!"

The skinny monkey hastily called out, "No! Young Master Xie didn’t give me any star crystals at all."

Kun Lan grinned. "I told you, you teamed up with these two losers to find trouble for this white-haired kid and to smear the Raven Squad. So, does Young Master Xie understand now?"

"You have no evidence, don’t wrongfully accuse me!" Xie Miao said through clenched teeth.

Kun Lan closed his eyes and nodded. "You’re right; it seems I really have no evidence. Wait a moment, I seem to remember. After Old Wan moved away, you gave Shen San a star crystal and told him not to tell Old Wan."

Without wishing to elaborate, he turned pale and ran away.

Old Wan hadn’t realized what was happening and chased after him, shouting, "Xie Miao, you better clarify, why does Shen San get an extra star crystal than I do..."

The crowd was in an uproar; anyone who wasn’t a fool could see it. Just as Kun Lan had said, Xie Miao had actually colluded with these two to smear the Raven Squad, leading to a flurry of discussions.

Old Wan pointed at Xie Miao and shouted, "That’s not fair! Why does Shen San get an extra star crystal?"

Xie Miao felt like he was going to faint; Kun Lan was right—these two guys really were losers!

Of course, he hadn’t given Shen San any star crystals; that was purely Kun Lan testing them, and it turned out these two idiots spilled the beans.

"But I didn’t expect him to stoop this low; it’s disgusting, so I couldn’t help but come out to expose them!"

Tianyang smiled and said, "Anyway, I still have to thank you for standing up for our team."

Kun Lan snorted coldly. "White-haired kid, don’t think that just because you’re trying to get close to me, I’ll treat you nicely. Just wait; I’ll find you when the opportunity arises to settle our score from that day."

The most complex feelings belonged to Tianyang, as he had never expected that the one helping him out today would be Kun Lan.

Kun Lan clapped his hands, preparing to leave, but then he heard Tianyang’s voice behind him: "Thank you."

Kun Lan stopped, looking at Tianyang with disgust. "Don’t get me wrong; I still hate you just the same. To be honest, if Xie Miao’s methods were a bit more skillful, I’d gladly watch him make trouble for you."

In the evening, the command center issued new orders, and every Night Walker team received the task of exploring the underground of the town.

When Ling Feng sent someone down for reconnaissance earlier, they used some detection techniques to basically map out the underground cave passages.

Ling Feng had specially instructed the technical department to quickly create a three-dimensional map, clearly marking out the various routes. Tomorrow, the Night Walker teams would pair up to explore the routes designated by the command center.

Tianyang knew he was referring to the incident when he had just arrived at the headquarters and almost fought with him.

The young man nodded. "I’ll be waiting for you."

Kun Lan grinned, spinning the curved blade in his hand twice before sheathing it and striding away.

At the meeting point, after Ling Feng briefly explained the strategic objectives of this operation, he announced that each team should prepare to enter in an orderly fashion.

"Hey, Old Han, I didn’t expect we’d have a chance to team up. You’ve got to look out for me."

As Tianyang was checking his preparations, he heard a voice. He looked up to see a team walking toward the Raven Squad.

When he saw that the team joining forces with his was actually Kun Lan’s Three-headed Dog team, Tianyang was momentarily stunned.

This really was... a fateful connection, Tianyang thought, lost in his thoughts.

The next morning, Tianyang followed his team to the rendezvous point.

The man named Ning patted his chest and smiled. "Look at what you’re saying, Old Han. Am I the kind of person to back down? Don’t worry, if we hit a snag, I won’t hesitate."

Then he tapped his head. "Oh, I forgot. You’re a fortress tier, so you don’t have much-attacking ability. Just focus on setting up a few star essence barriers; I’ll handle the fighting, no need for you to worry."

"Who said I can’t take down dark creatures? When I’m slaughtering dark creatures, you, Ning, won’t even know where to play in the mud!"

The speaker seemed to be the captain of this team. He was tall and didn’t appear as strong as Han Shu. Although he was also a middle-aged man, he had neat hair and a smooth chin.

In terms of looks, he was a significant step above Han Shu.

When Han Shu saw this person, he snorted unwillingly. "Stop talking nonsense, Ning. When it’s your turn to work, don’t slack off."

"Hey."

Out of the corner of his eye, a flash of blue made Tianyang feel slightly dazzled.

Kun Lan, with a pair of curved blades hanging from his waist, walked over and pointed at Tianyang. "Let’s have a contest today to see who can kill the most dark creatures!"

Tianyang felt his lips twitch slightly; it seemed this Ning Yi had a problem with Han Shu.

"The two of them were rivals in love," Ji Yu whispered as she folded her star essence bow. "It seems they even fought over a woman. Captain Ning is a War God tier, while our captain is a Fortress. In the end, neither could do anything to the other, so from then on, every time they meet, they just compete like children."

So the captain has such a "tragic" past? I thought he was smooth sailing on the road of flirting. Tianyang felt sorry for Han Shu for three seconds in his heart.

As a Hunter tier, Ji Yu led the way, with Tianyang and Cang Du following her for support.

The three of them were walking smoothly when unexpectedly Kun Lan followed them, walking silently.

Cang Du seemed to have no good feelings toward this blue-haired guy and frowned. "What are you doing up here? We have enough people."

Tianyang sighed inwardly, hoping that he and this guy wouldn’t develop a relationship like the two captains.

As preparation time ended, the teams began to enter the underground. Han Shu and Ning Yi stopped their jabs at each other, leading their respective teams to the designated route.

At first, there were other teams around, but as they delved deeper, soon only the Raven Squad and the Three-headed Dog team remained in the cave passage.

"Shut up!" Ji Yu turned around fiercely, "If you two keep shouting, you can go back and stop affecting my judgment!"

Cang Du huffed and turned his face away.

Kun Lan sneered. "I can say it ten more times if you want."

Kun Lan glanced at him. "I’m willing to; who are you to control me? But you, as a man, why do you keep such long hair? It’s disgusting, neither manly nor feminine."

Cang Du ignited like a powder keg. "Say that again!"

Kun Lan crossed his arms and turned his head away.

Tianyang sighed inwardly, suddenly feeling that this mission probably wouldn’t go too smoothly...
