Chapter 337 - 337: Power Struggles Between Boss and Subordinates

"Who are you? Stop right there!"

As Jack approached, Kasamoto Eri, who was leaning against the door, immediately raised a stick grenade without hesitation.

Jack stopped in his tracks, his face darkening.

"I'm asking you—where's Hannah?"

After being informed by adventurers that Hannah had come here in the middle of the night, Jack immediately felt uneasy.

Realizing that things could go terribly wrong—not only was his repair shop already blown up, but he might also lose his future wife—he rushed over to take Hannah away.

Hearing Jack's furious tone, Kasamoto Eri was momentarily stunned. Then, as if it just occurred to her, she knocked her head lightly with the stick grenade and gestured behind her.

"In the room, rolling in bed with my man."

"What?! Move aside! Let me in!"

"Oh, then go ahead."

Jack roared, but to his surprise, Kasamoto Eri didn't stop him. Instead, she stepped aside to let him through.

Jack was dumbfounded. Clearly, her reaction was completely beyond his expectations.

In his eyes, Kasamoto Eri had always been Qin Ming's lapdog, following his every order.

Yet now, she wasn't even stopping him. Something felt off.

He glanced at her suspiciously but, unable to make sense of her behavior, strode toward the door.

Just as he reached for the doorknob, ready to push it open, Kasamoto Eri suddenly spoke lazily.

"Oh, right, just a heads-up—those two inside are probably already at it by now. And my boss... well, he's pretty big. So you'd better mentally prepare yourself. The last guy who barged in after finding out his wife had been taken nearly lost his mind."

Jack froze with his hand on the doorknob.

Seeing him stiffen, Kasamoto Eri smirked and continued maliciously,

"One's a petite beauty barely 1.7 meters tall, the other is a 2.3-meter-tall giant. A real beauty and the beast combo, you know? Can you imagine what that looks like? It's like a corgi with a Tibetan mastiff, or a house cat with a cheetah. Oh, you know those electric kettles, right? The ones with an enormous top but a tiny little base? That's exactly—"

"Enough! Shut up!"

"Or maybe more like an elephant and a rhino! You know elephants, right? When a male elephant can't find a mate, it'll snatch a rhino's wife! Doesn't even care if she agrees or not—"

"I SAID SHUT UP!"

Jack erupted in rage, unable to take any more.

Seeing him turn toward her furiously, Kasamoto Eri's expression also darkened. She lifted her stick grenade threateningly.

"What the hell! I was being nice, giving you some friendly advice! And now you're pointing fingers at me? You really think you can bully me?"

"You—!"

Jack gritted his teeth, staring at the bomb-laden woman in front of him. In the end, he had no choice but to lower his hand.

He shot one last glance at the room, veins bulging on his forehead, before abruptly turning to leave.

Kasamoto Eri scoffed, stuffing the grenade back into her belt.

As Jack walked away, she waved mockingly.

"Hey! Come back and play tomorrow if you have time!"

Jack's steps faltered for a brief second before he sped up even more.

Watching him disappear around the corner, Kasamoto Eri's smirk gradually faded.

"Tch, trying to mess with me? Trying to steal my woman? If I weren't busy right now, I'd shove a grenade right into your pants and make sure you never have to fight over anyone again."

Pulling at her collar, she grinned, pleased with herself for getting rid of the troublemaker.

Now, it was time to enjoy the spoils of victory.

With a bright smile, she reached for the door and gave it a strong push—only to find it wouldn't budge.

She blinked in surprise and pushed again.

Still locked.

Her expression darkened.

"What the hell?! The door's locked?! Who the hell did this? Boss, was it you? Trying to hog everything for yourself again?! Open up!"

She rattled the doorknob furiously, but no matter how hard she yanked, it wouldn't budge.

Frustrated, she ran to the window—only to find that locked too.

Not a single way in.

She was completely shut out.

"You've gotta be kidding me! I gave you all the good stuff! And now you won't even share? I worked my ass off—maybe not for merit, but at least for effort! Qin, you bastard! If you keep this up, I swear you'll go impotent! OPEN THE DOOR! LET ME IN! LET ME IN!!!"

Outside the room, a woman's enraged screams echoed in the night as she pounded on the door in frustration...

By the time dawn broke, Qin Ming and the others, having rested for the night, were preparing to depart.

Qin Ming was fully geared up with an unreadable expression, while Kasamoto Eri was glowing with energy.

Only Hannah, walking beside them, looked dazed for some reason.

Turning her head, she saw Kasamoto Eri reaching out to hug her—and was so frightened that she bolted away.

Yesterday, Kasamoto Eri eventually managed to get into the room—not because Qin Ming went over to open the door for her, nor because that woman went crazy and blasted the door open with a stick grenade, but because Hannah, unable to bear the sounds from outside, chose to open the door and let her in.

Kasamoto Eri was publicly acknowledged by Qin Ming as his girlfriend, so Hannah couldn't help but feel guilty whenever she faced her. After letting Kasamoto Eri in, Hannah accepted whatever beating or scolding came her way, after all, she had come over to play the role of the homewrecker.

What Hannah clearly didn't understand was that Kasamoto Eri's target wasn't Qin Ming—it was her...

The unexpected turn of events left Hannah reeling. She had thought they would gang up on Qin Ming, but instead, she found herself under attack—a development that still hasn't let her recover.

Sitting there in a daze, Hannah felt as though her entire worldview was crumbling. Meanwhile, Kasamoto Eri, riding high on her success, sat arrogantly in a chair with her legs crossed, striking a victorious pose as she beamed smugly at the sullen Jack across from her—even though Jack hadn't even spared her a glance, instead fixating his furious stare on Qin Ming.

Qin Ming, ignoring Jack's hostile glare and noting that time was nearly up, suddenly rose and said, "Then let's set off, everyone. Await our good news."

At those words, Hannah hurriedly stood up and reached out toward Qin Ming. After sharing a tight embrace with him, when she saw Kasamoto Eri also extending her arms toward her, the hesitant Hannah blushed and returned the embrace with Eri.

"Qin Ming, take care... and you too, Eri."

"Don't worry. I won't die."

"Let's go, babe!"

With that, they hopped into the car and sped off into the distance, leaving behind a group of onlookers with varied expressions who silently watched them disappear.

Driving along the highway, Qin Ming—at the wheel—cast a sidelong glance at Kasamoto Eri. Noticing that she was casually taking a drag from her cigarette, he couldn't help but roll his eyes.

Catching his gaze, Kasamoto Eri leaned in proudly. "Oh? Some guy who doesn't want to have all the fun to himself? Look at you, so stingy—sharing a bed with more than one beauty is every man's dream! I'm just helping you achieve that dream! What's there to be upset about?"

At her words, Qin Ming's lips twitched. "Eri."

"Uh, well... oh! I get it! You're mad because of that, aren't you? Fine then—next time, I'll sleep with you first, so everyone gets a fair share!"

"I think you're just stirring up trouble for no reason!"

At that, Qin Ming lost his temper completely. He removed both hands from the wheel and, in an instant, clamped his hand around Kasamoto Eri's neck.

Hoisted up and shaken, Kasamoto Eri didn't show any sign of backing down. Instead, she pulled out her stick grenade and began striking Qin Ming's head with it repeatedly, the blows resounding sharply.

When no one else was around, these two could be partners with perfect coordination. But the moment someone else appeared in the middle, they ceased being partners and turned into rivals—there was never a time they didn't fight.

At that moment, the two were brawling in the car over Hannah, their struggle sending the vehicle careening wildly from side to side.

Just then, a figure suddenly appeared by the roadside, waving her arms vigorously as soon as she emerged. "Wait! Qin Ming! Eri!"

Hearing the call, both Qin Ming and Kasamoto Eri turned almost simultaneously, only to see that the person was none other than Hannah!

Seeing the two looking her way, Hannah's face lit up with a brilliant smile. She was about to speak when she noticed the uncontrollably careening car speeding straight toward her!

BANG!

...A minute later, the car finally came to a stop, and Qin Ming and Kasamoto Eri stood before Hannah with awkward expressions. Hannah, who had been flung several meters away by the impact, was tending to her scrapes as she glared fiercely at Qin Ming.

"Hey, Hannah, what are you doing here?"

"I couldn't leave you all alone—I wanted to see if I could help, even if I couldn't get in with you, I'd at least rush out and cover you."

As she spoke, she reached out and tidied Qin Ming's dishevelled collar, her eyes looking somewhat dazed.

"Promise me you'll come back alive, okay?"

Qin Ming grinned broadly. "I already promised you—I always keep my word."

Watching the affectionate scene between the two, Kasamoto Eri couldn't help but snort coldly and pouted sharply. "Hey! There's someone else here too! Watch your influence—I'm not going to be happy about this!"

At those words, Hannah's expression froze, and she awkwardly glanced over at Kasamoto Eri. "I'm sorry, Eri, I wasn't trying to steal your man on purpose—I...I'm sorry."

Saying this, Hannah bowed deeply, her face filled with genuine remorse.

Seeing Hannah, the homewrecker, display such an apologetic look, Kasamoto Eri couldn't help but pause. Without offering a word in response, she slowly turned to look at Qin Ming, only to find that he, too, was giving her a strangely knowing look.

Neither of them spoke, yet their eyes communicated everything. Something was off! Hannah's words didn't add up at all!

What did she mean by stealing Kasamoto Eri's man? Wasn't it Kasamoto Eri and Qin Ming who were fighting over her right now? Kasamoto Eri was just jealous—how could she mistake it for Qin Ming being jealous?
