Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 891: Return
"Should I return?" Rain thought.
As Rain considered the activation of the seals and the possibility of returning, he felt troubled between continuing his search for relics and rushing back to his family's aid. The unexpected activation of the seals signified a critical situation, one that potentially endangered the people he cared about...
His mind raced with conflicting thoughts. On one hand, he felt the weight of responsibility to protect his family, especially considering the condition he set for the seals' activation. On the other hand, he couldn't ignore the ongoing pursuit of uncovering relics and understanding the cosmic threats that loomed over their world.
Thanks to his domain, Rain confirmed the direction that his mana was flowing… it was toward the demi-human's land. So, either Seara or Sealyn used the seals… after thinking for a short while, Rain began to dash in their direction, but soon after, the seals were canceled, and Rain felt his body getting lighter again.
"Well, might as well give them some updates regarding the last two months…" Rain thought. "I can already tell Sealyn saying: some room to breathe, please… no, she isn't a teenager anymore."
Rain began to make good use of Skill Affinity while using Impulse while using only ice magic… it didn't take long for him to get some results.

Rain changed his skills to improve the efficiency of his ice magic and that improved his bit by fifty percent. Even though he should be around forty thousand kilometers from his destination, he knew that he would be able to cross that distance in around six hours.
"It would have been more helpful if I were crossing the void and gaining acceleration almost nonstop thanks to the lack of obstacles like particles of dust in the air and even the wind itself," Rain thought.
Rain thought of changing his domain to make that possible, but that wasn't possible… whatever he created around himself would end up colliding with the particles in the air and slowing him down unless he was able to create a field of something that could destroy or devour those particles. It was hard to imagine him inside without suffering any harm.
Just as Rain had predicted, in half a day he reached the demi humans' land and even in the distance, he could see a large group of water dragons moving away from the area. It seemed that their attack finally ended… even though the seals were canceled six hours ago.
Rain flew high to avoid being found by the water dragons and crossed the distance in a few seconds and then he also crossed the disguise barrier of the demi humans. It didn't take long for Rain to see what had happened there.
Rain's heightened magical senses, thanks to his domain, allowed him to see the situation vividly despite not seeing Seara and Sealyn immediately. As he scanned the beach, he saw a chaotic scene that unfolded before him.
Hundreds of individuals were sprawled across the beach, some dangerously injured with missing limbs and severe wounds, while others worked frantically to administer aid and healing to those who could still be saved. The once crystal clear ocean waters had turned a ghastly shade of red, tainted by the blood of the wounded and fallen.
Despite the harrowing sight, Rain's senses allowed him to detect the faint presence of Seara and Sealyn amidst the turmoil. They were fine, despite the fact that their presence was weak, thanks to their low mana currently.
"I guess I can decrease their workload a bit," Rain thought. "I probably am not the best second healer around, but I shouldn't be so far behind."
Rain's arrival made a lot of people raise their guard, but soon they relaxed a bit when they saw him healing a bunch of people from a distance. Only skilled healers could do that, and there was no way he could harm anyone like that.
After healing some people for a while, Rain eventually felt Seara's approach. He sighed in relief when he saw her, but at close range, he saw that she was missing an eye, and one of her arms was covered in blood, at least on the shoulder area despite the rest of the arm being completely free of blood.
"Sorry for kind of forcing you to come," Sears said. "I kind of didn't have a choice and had to use the seal."
"Sit down for a minute. I will do something about your eye," Rain said after he approached and checked her wounds. "What hurt you? You aren't that wounded, but you lost one eye and one arm."
"... The operation of last night went bad… the enemies had a trump card and we were forced to run for our lives," Seara said after she sat down. "Is everyone all right, you found them, right?"
"Yeah, they are fine… now explain what had happened," Rain said while he was healing Seara's eye.
As Seara recounted the events of the attack to Rain, she detailed how their initial assault on the sea dragons had gone well according to plan. The first phase of their coordinated attack had shown promising results, seemingly proceeding as intended some sea dragons died and that was a first for an attack that didn't even last for one hour.
However, the situation took a sudden turn when an unexpected presence entered the fray.
Seara described seeing a figure clad in coral armor, a human that intervened in the conflict. The appearance of this mysterious individual caught everyone off guard, their sudden appearance disrupting the course of the battle, upon hearing Seara's description of the armored figure, a sense of foreboding washed over Rain. His expression darkened as he processed the information.
The mention of a human wearing coral armor struck a disconcerting chord within…
The significance of the coral armor weighed heavily on Rain's mind. He distinctly recalled encountering a single full plate coral armor in the base of the sea dragons during his previous investigations, and it was supposed to be guarded by the sea dragons with all their might.
