"You have gotta be kidding me…" Jori said.

"Fall back, he is coming for me," Rain said as he took a deep breath and then relaxed his body. "I guess just using the Jokester path and sound magic wouldn't be enough against this freak."

Lv 01: Stupid Joke (50) - Tell a joke to your enemy, and based on your luck and the difference in dexterity, you might shock the enemy for up to three seconds.

Level 5: Mischievous Trickster (33) - Become a Mischievous Trickster, enabling you to employ playful pranks and harmless tricks. Your ability to cleverly devise and execute pranks improves. Decreases the dexterity of the targets by ten points per level for a day.

Using those skills with sound magic was what created the opening that Rain used against the enemy…, but even that hadn't been enough. Still, it had potential. The downside was the fact that Rain was causing damage to his reputation as well.

Nevertheless, Rain will have the chance to reclaim his honor soon enough… while the enemy was getting up, the others moved away and saw Rain putting his hands together and closing his eyes.

At that point in time, some people were starting to think that it was good that Rain wasn't there when his kids grew… otherwise, they would have become suicidal like him. Nothing aside from a death wish could explain what he was doing at the moment.

The enemy glared at Rain as well… his anger was starting to become more and more clear, and Rain was counting on that. All of a sudden, the enemy disappeared, and them reappeared right above Rain and swinging down his Warhammer.

The enemy's devastating swing sent shockwaves through the entire area, causing a seismic disturbance that reverberated for hundreds of kilometers. The impact shattered the frost landscape, creating fissures that spread in all directions, and the once-solid surface below the snow cracked like fragile glass. The violent tremor persisted for a while, unsettling everything in its wake.

As the echoes of the powerful strike gradually faded, all eyes turned toward the epicenter of the destruction. To the astonishment of those seeing the scene, Rain stood unscathed behind the colossal figure. His posture remained unchanged as if he had weathered the cataclysmic blow effortlessly.

It was a missed opportunity for Rain to attack the enemy, who now faced an opponent seemingly unharmed and ready to continue. The sheer force of the attack had left visible marks on the surroundings. Still, Rain's speed had defied the expectations of both allies and enemies alike.

The battlefield had become a testament to the incredible power at play, and the outcome of the confrontation remained uncertain.

"What is he doing?" Sealyn asked. "While it is embarrassing seeing my father taunting the enemy like a kid, that was very effective."

"He is cooking something different… there are a number of ways to counterattack his previous strategy, like destroying eardrums," Nigel explained. "The enemy could do that without even flinching."

That made sense… Sealyn heard that the people back on the time where Nigel and the others relic lived barely reached one hundred years old of age, but his knowledge deserved respect. She didn't even consider that the enemy could do that to counter Rain's method of attack…

Sealyn realized that pure, unadulterated power was really useful when you were fighting some braindead. When fighting someone as resourceful as her father, the fights wouldn't be determined by who has the highest parameters or better skills… but by the person who had more creativity and nerves of steel.

The enemy couldn't help but clench his teeth while looking at Rain… he had all that power. Still, he couldn't do a thing against such a worm… given enough time, he could even destroy worlds. Still, Rain was facing him with his eyes closed and completely ignoring the danger posed by the enemy in front of him.

The anger of the enemy was so much that steam began to leave his forehead, and his flesh was starting to get red… While the whole situation of the enemy not doing anything was useful to him, Rain couldn't help but worry a bit.

Lv 20: A Matter of Skill (75) - When fighting, your parameters can increase by ten points per level per minute for ten minutes as long as you don't get hit by the enemy. When you are hit, all the parameters will disappear, and you will lose one thousand stamina points.

Rain's plan was simple… aside from using skills from the patience and humility path that boosted his parameters passively the longer the fight gets, he was relying a lot on the A Matter of Skill… if he survives for ten minutes without getting hit, he will give something to the enemy that he will never forget… but that was all huge gamble.

Rain attuned all his senses to focus on dodging the enemies attacks at the very moment he decided to attack and with the movement speed technique that he had learned by trying to complete a new technique, he barely could do that… he couldn't do that forever, though.

Still, Rain's fears were confirmed when the aura on the enemy changed… he couldn't see it since his eyes were closed, but he could tell that the enemy was calming down. The aura that he was emitting was decreasing, and so was the pressure… it seemed that the being who was controlling him finally returned from their lunch break, and he wasn't on automatic anymore.

"Well, you win some, and you lose some," Rain thought.

As soon as Rain finished that thought, he suddenly fell the danger… as if the attack had missed a bunch of frames, the enemy suddenly appeared in front of him with his Warhammer ready to smash his head with a horizontal attack…

Rain moved his head downward and to the side, but he still felt a burning pain even though he avoided the hit… his head started to get weird… because he had lost his right ear…
