Everyone opened their mouths in shock when they saw that… Rain suddenly had become faster even than the enemy, fast enough not to give him the chance to react to his attack.

Nevertheless, he would have to land thousands of those attacks if he truly wanted to defeat the enemy. Rain kept moving around like a shadow, and the expression of the enemy suddenly got more severe… he looked even more pissed when angry began to talk again.

"Did you know?" Rain asked.

Before Rain could finish his sentence, the enemy suddenly charged and then swung his hammer at him. However, Rain lowered his stance and blocked the attack with his forearm guards. The impact still pushed him for several hundred meters, but at least it was clear that he saw the attack coming.

"At least let me finish my question…" Rain said while healing his arms that broke with that impact alone. "Your movements are becoming more obvious. I guess there is some conscience on you, despite the fact that you have been defeated by something and now are being controlled by it as well."

No one was surprised by that… the head alone of that guy made him look like a human, but it was hard to say if he was indeed was one. Despite that, his behavior confirmed that he was being controlled and was sleeping deeply before the fight started. The anger on his face also showed that he was getting more involved in the fight, and that was making him slower.

"Anyway, one of my allies said that I should just keep attacking you from a distance," Rain said. "Since I can't fight at close quarters, he said, I should do that. This man is a genius. A modern-day Prometheus. Don't you think?"

The enemy raised his guard and assumed a defensive position. Still, Rain suddenly grabbed his head and then hit the enemy's face with a quick sequence of his knees. The enemy staggered once more and took a step backward… things were starting to look good. Still, no one could tell what it was happening for that to be actually possible.

"I guess your father awakened a new superpower… the power to bullshit his way out of any situation," Nigel said.

"I can see now why he finds you insufferable…" Sealyn said. "His words are charged with mana, and they are affecting the response of the enemy… it is a mix of sound magic with something else…"

That seemed like a plausible explanation, but Nigel still wanted to think that Rain was truly only bullshitting. Still, the enemy looked pissed, like he couldn't understand what Rain was doing, and it was something very effective… with that happening only a couple of times, he couldn't tell what exactly was happening.

Nevertheless, even Sealyn could tell that such a thing wouldn't be enough to defeat the enemies…so she slowly moved away from the battlefield toward the base.

A smile appeared on his face when he saw that… as expected of Sealyn, she was smart like her father, and she could be underhanded like him too, when she found it necessary. Still, Rain didn't have time to think about that because the enemy charged at him, and with a full swing of his hammer, Rain couldn't block.

Rain stepped in without hesitation and escaped the range of the head of the hammer and then headbutted the enemy… the enemy was fully armored, so Rain felt like his head was going to split thanks to the impact, but at least he gained another second.

"You have two brain cells in your head fighting for one spot," Rain said. "I guess I am the same."

The enemy was paralyzed for a moment once more, and then Rain spun his body and added, with the power of the rotation, he hit the side of the enemy's head with his right elbow…

The enemy felt that… his body wobbled forward, and he used his hammer to recover his balance, and then he looked at Rain while his vision was turvy.

"Here comes a big one," Rain said. "You are indulging me in some brain damage. I don't know how many qualities you can show at once that doesn't say: run for the hills. I find the state of your mental health deeply concerning. For years, I studied the art of kicking asses during the times I wasn't sleeping with your mother."

Everyone was also being affected by Rain's words, but not in the way that he wanted… they couldn't help but question his sanity at that point in life. They could understand the concept of taunting the enemy with words, even though they were almost absolutely sure that such a tactic shouldn't have worked on that guy…

In any case, adding all those insane comments to the situation, the enemy didn't have the chance at all to react when Rain summoned giant earth arms and then smashed the head of the enemy with a barrage of attacks that no one was able to count…

The relentless barrage of earth-enhanced attacks sent the enemy hurtling through the air, his massive frame flying for a hundred meters before crashing to the ground. The impact was thunderous, and for a moment, it seemed like the battle had reached its conclusion. The enemy lay on the snow-covered battlefield, his face battered, armor cracked, and a pool of blood forming beneath him.

However, Rain remained vigilant. Despite the apparent victory, the enemy still held his massive hammer tightly. Rain knew better than to let his guard down too soon. The nature of their opponent suggested that the battle might not be over as it seemed.

As the allies cautiously approached the fallen enemy, expecting the battle to be won, an unsettling twist occurred. Time seemed to rewind itself, and the enemy's battered face began to mend. The broken bones realigned, and the blood that had spilled returned to the flesh. It was a disturbing reversal of the damage inflicted just moments ago…
