Infinite Dragon Beast: Taming Ice Dragons with SSS Ranked Talent-Chapter 120: Raid Successful
Time flew by quickly, Aiden took advantage of it by practicing with each other. Chemistry was developing, though it wasn’t completely smooth yet. However, it was good enough for Aiden.
Day turned into night. They put on their armor and wore their black cloaks that covered their bodies and heads. As described in the independent mission, they had to ambush the Ulrich Family’s goods delivery outside Lunor City.
Once ready, Aiden and the others took off flying. Joe flew alongside Aiden, having wrapped his arm around Aiden’s shoulders. This allowed him to fly due to Aiden’s magical effect.
They soared through the clouds in the darkness of the night. Fortunately for them, no one noticed the sky, nor did any mages detect their presence. Aiden and the others could enter and exit the city with ease.
Through Aiden’s magical aura, they saw two groups of merchants leaving the city gates. But Aiden couldn’t confirm their identities yet.
Aiden stopped flying, took out his mission plate, and started looking at the map closely. If the two groups of merchants were from two different families, then their routes would be different.
"Why are we stopping?" asked Aurora.
"We’re waiting."
That’s right! They were waiting for the two merchant caravans to take their paths at the first intersection. If one of them took the left route, it would definitely be Ulrich’s merchant caravan.
Aurora and the others waited for Aiden’s orders. Aiden kept his eyes fixed downward, waiting for them to pass the intersection.
Aiden’s guess was correct! The two groups of merchants were from different families. One group went to the right, while the other went left. Aiden made his decision.
"I found them!" said Aiden firmly.
He pulled the spear from behind his back and aimed it to the left, toward the group of merchants from the Ulrich family.
Aurora and the others carried out the order. They flew down, piercing the night sky and finding the group of merchants Aiden was referring to. They lined up neatly, aided by the light from oil lamps and torches.
The guards turned their heads, seeing ambushers appearing from the sky. Aiden flew down, luckily they did not recognize him and his group.
"Don’t let a single one escape!" Aiden ordered firmly.
Aurora and the others nodded. They attacked the guards—mostly adventurers—in aerial combat. This was challenging for them due to the agile movements of Aurora, Amber, and Rachel in the air.
Two elders emerged, wearing emblems identical to those of the Ulrich family. Aiden was right; they were escorting the Ulrich Family’s goods.
While Aurora and the others were busy fighting the guards, Aiden and Joe decided to come down and fight the two elders directly. The battle grew more intense and spread among them.
"Protect the goods from the robbers!" Elder Liam ordered, and all the guards obeyed.
Aiden landed, then charged forward forcefully, swinging his spear sideways. Elder Liam managed to block the spear’s force, but Aiden didn’t give up.
Elsewhere, Joe focused on defeating Elder Arnold. From Joe’s face, it was clear he was enjoying the fight, even though his opponent was a mage.
"Who are you? Why are you fighting like a knight but can fly?!" Liam complained.
"You don’t need to know who I am," Aiden replied flatly.
He continued flying and swinging his spear, creating fiery slashes toward Liam. Liam kept defending, but he couldn’t hold on much longer due to the significant power difference between them.
[Magic Element: Flaming Spear!]
The iron spear Aiden held transformed into a flaming spear, its power increasing. The elder Liam had no choice; he had to attack Aiden instead of defending himself.
Lucky for Aiden! The elder Liam’s mage tier was still Adept, equal to the mage tier of the Reinhard family elders. If Aiden could defeat the Reinhard elders, then he could also defeat Liam.
"I won’t lose to bandits like you!" Liam shouted.
A green magic portal appeared, one of the unique abilities of combining two elements: Earth and Water. Plant thorns shot upward, targeting Aiden who continued to fly freely without obstruction.
"With this, you won’t be able to defeat me!" Liam declared firmly.
As time passed, he summoned more and more green magic portals behind his back. This caused hundreds of plant thorns to shoot toward Aiden, forcing him to think of another way to defeat Liam.
Aiden flies far out of the range of the magical thorns, holding his spear and running his hand along it from the bottom to the top. His eyes glow brightly in the flames, ready to use his ultimate ability to defeat Liam.
With the significant difference in their strength, Aiden was confident that this ability would definitely defeat him.
[Magic Element: Crimson Fire]
After gripping his flaming spear tightly, Aiden swung it sideways to unleash a massive crimson scythe attack. Elder Liam was shocked; he immediately pressed both hands to the ground, summoning plant root magic to withstand the force.
A magical clash ensued between Aiden’s attack magic and Liam’s defense magic. But because Liam had drained much of his magical energy, he couldn’t maintain his power for long.
The wall of plant roots split in two, then burned in a huge fire. Liam was shocked, his face pale as he realized there was nothing he could do to stop Aiden’s attack.
BLAST!
A massive explosion occurred in front of the horse-drawn carriage, destroying Liam’s body and burning him in flames. Liam was thrown far away with his lower body split open, his skin blistered and his face destroyed.
Aiden flew quickly toward Liam, watching the man dying and on the verge of death. But Aiden needed him dead.
He floated directly above Liam, staring at the man begging for mercy from Aiden. But Aiden didn’t respond. He had to kill him because he needed information from Henry.
"Die to end your suffering," Aiden demanded.
Aiden gripped his spear and thrust the sharp blade into Liam’s heart. Liam screamed in pain, blood flowing from his mouth, his time was near.
Elder Liam was dead, as was Elder Arnold, who had failed to hold back Joe’s strength. Seeing the two elders of the Ulrich family die at the hands of the bandits, the guards chose to surrender.
They dropped their swords and knelt in submission. However, Aiden’s order was clear: kill them all, leaving no witnesses.
Aurora and the others slit their throats, causing them to convulse from blood loss and die immediately. Aurora smiled, then flew toward Aiden after her task was complete.
"What will we do now?" asked Aurora.
"We’ll take this to the Hurd family in Dourstad!"
