Chapter 66: The Orion Prince

"The Orion Prince? What in Azazel’s infernal name is that?!" Aurora laughed inside Axel’s mind. "Is he some sort of constellation prince now?"

Axel found it strange. Deeply strange that the voice in his head could be humorous like this. It wasn’t the laughter itself that bothered him, but how natural it sounded. It made him wonder, not for the first time, whether Aurora was really just an artificial intelligence embedded into his system.

But that wasn’t his focus right now. His focus was the man standing inside the cage. The Orion Prince.

He had a massive build. Broad shoulders. Thick veined arms that were swollen from constant use. His frame was bulky but not slow looking, the kind of body built for impact rather than speed. His torso was bare, revealing a set of deep, defined abs carved like stone, each movement of his warm-up causing the muscles beneath his skin to shift and tighten.

He wasn’t just big, he was very dense.

His legs were thick and grounded, planted like pillars against the metal floor. Every step he took sent a dull vibration through the cage. Compared to him, Axel was light and skinny.

The contrast was a very brutal one. Whoever paired them up certainly knew what they were doing.

The Orion Prince’s face matched his body. Sharp jaw. High cheekbones and a crooked nose that had clearly been broken more than once. His eyes were narrow and bright, carrying a lazy confidence, the kind that came from winning too many fights and never being punished for it. A faint scar ran from the corner of his eyebrow down toward his temple, cutting through his rough stubble.

He looked like someone who enjoyed hurting people and Axel’s stare lingered just a second too long. ’I’m supposed to fight that?’ He thought.

Kinsey noticed his subtle worry.

"Relax," she said quietly beside him. "Having a ton of muscles doesn’t equal strength."

She said it flat, like it was a fact, not comfort. She could say that with confidence because Axel had defeated her before and she had more muscle mass than he did.

"Besides," she continued, "he’s justa Spectra. Probably Spectra 2."

Axel blinked. "How do you know that? Everyone’s tags are turned off."

"I just know..."

The Orion Prince raised both arms and rolled his shoulders, cracking his neck slowly as the crowd reacted instantly.

"Orion! Orion! Orion!"

The chants echoed through the underground pit, loud and aggressive. His name wasn’t just shouted. It was basically worshipped.

Axel still hadn’t stepped forward and because of that, whispers started spreading through the crowd.

"I don’t blame him," someone said loudly. "I’d shit my bloody pants too if I had to fight the Prince!" Everyone laughed.

Kinsey sighed and turned to Axel. "You should get moving. You don’t want to unimpress the crowd."

Axel finally stepped forward and the crowd went wild with roars.

"Ahhh!" the commentator exclaimed. "Look who finally showed up! The prince’s latest toy!"

Laughter exploded through the pit, sharp and cruel. The crowd mocked him without restraint, but Axel didn’t care. If only they knew why he was here. If only they knew what was at stake. If only they knew how close he was over the edge, they wouldn’t be having a nice laugh.

"Let them laugh," Aurora said, her voice firm. "Show them what an Infernal Entity is."

Axel paused for half a step. Did Aurora just give him words of encouragement? Did she just call his name?

"You called my name," Axel muttered. "That’s a first. You didn’t mock me..."

He smirked slightly. "Who are you, and what have you done with Aurora?"

The cage door slammed shut behind him, chains rattling as they were locked in place. No exits. No escape.

Axel opened his system interface, his eyes flicking over the floating blue panels as the noise of the pit faded for a moment.

He hadn’t checked any of his new upgrades since he woke up. He decided to do it now.

His HP hadn’t gone up and that annoyed him a bit. But the other numbers told a clearer story. He was now 23 times faster, stronger and more agile since he acquired the system.

Axel clenched his hands slowly. He didn’t feel bulky, be didn’t look scary, but his body responded cleanly when he moved.

"Maybe Kinsey is right after all. Muscles didn’t mean much."

He tried to identify the Orion Prince using the skill but nothing happened.

< [Error! Unable to use skill] >

Axel frowned, and that was when Orion moved. The Prince closed the distance fast, faster than his size suggested. A thick hand drove forward as Axel tried to twist away but he was a fraction too slow.

The strike landed into his rib.

*CRACK!*

< [–5 HP] >

Axel staggered back as he forced air out of his lungs in a rough gasp.

The crowd erupted after the hit landed clean

"FIRST HIT!"

"ORION! ORION!"

The Prince grinned, rolling his shoulders as if he’d just proven a point.

Axel straightened slowly, breathing through his nose. His eyes narrowed as he concluded on how powerful that hit was.

"Alright," Axel thought, wiping a thin line of saliva from his lip. "I get it."

Orion came again, swinging wide this time. Axel ducked in close instead of backing away. He brought both arms up, elbows tight, shielding his head.

The punch slammed into his guard and his bones cracked.

< [–2 HP] >

"He’s trying to hit your head. Don’t let him!" Aurora cautioned.

’Yeah, tell me something I do not know!’ Axel responded.

Orion kept hitting Axel with his large fists, not giving any space to think.

The crowd kept screaming as if every hit was feeding them.

Axel moved low, stayed tight. He didn’t trade blows with Orion. He traded position.

Axel found an opening, he slipped and drove a short punch into Orion’s ribs. It landed, but it felt like hitting stone.

No reaction.

’Damn,’ Axel thought. ’Too solid.’

Orion tried to reach for him but Axel twisted. Unfortunately, Orion’s knee was already going for Axel’s jaw and the moment it made contact, stars flashed.

< [–5 HP] >

< [HP: 8/20] >

He forced his feet to stay under him.

"Maybe it’s time to play offence for once!"

Orion went in for another elbow strike against Axel. He pretended to duck, with the hopes that the Orion would use his knee.

The Prince took the bait.

Right as Orion committed, Axel shifted his foot and hooked Orion’s ankle with a sharp sweep. At the same time, he drove two fingers hard into the side of Orion’s neck, right under the jaw. Then, Axel did something he wasn’t technically supposed to do.

< [Stun — Activated] >

Orion froze.

His body locked mid-motion and his eyes went wide with confusion flashing across his face as his muscles stopped listening to him.

The crowd went quiet and Axel didn’t hesitate.

He stepped in close and delivered one clean, brutal strike to the base of Orion’s skull, using his whole body, not just his arm.

The Prince dropped like a sack of potato, hitting the floor hard.

"Holy mother of fuck... did he just—"

The commentator’s voice cracked as he announced, "The prince is down."

The crowd didn’t cheer, they all stared.

Axel looked at the unconscious body at his feet, then up at the silent stands.

He exhaled slowly.

"Yeah," he muttered under his breath. "I needed that win, sorry..."
