Chapter 164: Chapter 164: Falling into the Void, the Silent King Speaks

There was no up or down, no direction, no light. The floating islands above gradually grew impossibly distant, like phantoms from another world.

What exactly lies beneath this void? Imotekh the Stormlord looked down, this thought surfacing in his mind.

A freezing cold began to surge in from all directions.

It was a feeling of life being stripped away. The Stormlord had experienced countless battles and faced innumerable enemies, but he had never felt such dead silence.

Abandoning the idea of exploring what lay below, the Stormlord fully activated his anti-gravity field to stabilize his body.

Looking up, besides the Ender Dragon circling overhead, there was a figure waving at him.

Zeke stood at the edge of the End island, one hand raised high, waving at the Stormlord below.

"Bye-bye, Stormlord!"

The voice drifted down from above, stretched by the void into a string of erratic echoes.

An arrow plummeted down from above. The arrow’s speed wasn’t fast—at least not by the Stormlord’s standards.

But the Stormlord simply couldn’t dodge it. The arrow always seemed to land exactly where the Stormlord tried to evade.

A beam of holy psychic light descended from the sky and exploded against the Stormlord’s chassis, pushing him several meters deeper.

No... The Stormlord’s eyes widened.

Standing on the platform, Zeke drew his bow rapidly. Arrows flew from the string one after another, connecting into a straight line in the air.

The wingful of feathers Sanguinius had moulted finally came in handy.

The Stormlord was in a miserable state. Large chunks of his living metal chassis detached, tumbling as they fell into the void.

The Stormlord clearly saw the fate of those pieces of metal: they dissolved directly into particles, leaving nothing behind.

After using up nearly a full stack of Holy Arrows, Zeke finally lowered his bow and looked down.

The Stormlord’s figure had already become very small. He had reached the boundary of the void, where the darkness had begun to take on a physical form.

His body gradually became increasingly broken. Like writing being erased by an eraser, the Stormlord was disappearing inch by inch.

Finally, the void completely swallowed the Stormlord.

Trazyn witnessed the death of an Overlord and opened his mouth. "The Stormlord is dead?"

"Probably. Your Necron resurrection protocols shouldn’t work across different dimensions, right?" Zeke wasn’t one hundred percent certain.

He felt the Stormlord had died a bit too anticlimactically. He hadn’t even really done much himself, just fired a few waves of arrows from the shadows at the end.

Zeke kind of hoped the Stormlord was still alive, so they could chat about what it felt like to fall into the void later.

Disabling his invisibility spell, the Ender Dragon sensed the player’s presence. It abandoned all other targets in its sights and flew toward Zeke.

Zeke unsheathed his Netherite Sword and pointed it at the Ender Dragon. This is a fated duel, a destined enemy. The Ender Dragon can only be defeated by me, Zeke Mason.

Ignoring Trazyn off to the side, the Ender Dragon hovered in the air, glaring at Zeke.

Yes, this was the true enemy it needed to defeat. The very meaning of its existence was to defeat this player.

Roar!

"Come on, let’s fight to our heart’s content!"

One man and one dragon charged towards each other. Zeke didn’t pull out the Manyullyn Chainsword with its overpowered stats, but instead used the Netherite Sword. This was the greatest respect he could offer the Ender Dragon.

Battle intent ignited in the Ender Dragon’s eyes as it dive-bombed toward Zeke. The massive dragon skull grew closer and closer. It opened its jaws, purple Dragon’s Breath gathering deep within its throat.

Zeke, on the other hand, gripped the Netherite Sword tightly with both hands, the corners of his mouth curving up slightly.

"Heheh, you fell for it."

Just as the Ender Dragon arrived in front of him, Zeke released his left hand from the hilt, switched to a few beds, and rapidly placed them on the ground.

Then, Zeke right-clicked them one by one.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Continuous explosions engulfed the Ender Dragon, depleting its health bar.

The Ender Dragon’s diving form halted, its wings freezing in mid-air.

Its body rose. Multicolored light burst forth from within the Ender Dragon, forming brilliant ribbons of light in the air. Those ribbons of light spiraled and interlaced, ultimately exploding outward.

Experience orbs scattered in all directions. In its final moments, the Ender Dragon’s eyes looked at Zeke, silently venting its grievance.

You’re too despicable, Zeke.

The experience dropped by the Ender Dragon leveled Zeke up by more than thirty levels. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

The Dragon Egg was also generated below. Zeke pulled out a pickaxe, crouched down, and began mining the blocks beneath his feet, arriving directly underneath the Dragon Egg.

He placed a torch below it, then mined the End Stone blocking the space between the torch and the Dragon Egg.

The Dragon Egg fell onto the torch and turned into a dropped item, which Zeke collected into his backpack.

Dragon Egg acquired. Now all I need are the Elytra.

Zeke looked toward the place where the Ender Dragon had died. The portal frame constructed of Bedrock had already begun to change.

A dark curtain covered in starlight blanketed the Return Portal. As long as one passed through this portal, they could return to the real world.

Zeke studied the Bedrock forming the portal platform. The tip of his pickaxe sparked against the Bedrock’s surface, then bounced off without leaving a single scratch.

"Do you have any ideas, Trazyn?" Zeke asked Trazyn beside him.

"Let me try." Trazyn pulled out all sorts of wondrous gadgets and took turns testing them.

Zeke didn’t hold out much hope. Bedrock inherently wasn’t something that could be obtained in Survival Mode anyway.

While Trazyn was studying the Bedrock, a third wave of guests appeared on the obsidian platform.

The Dais of Dominion materialized. Seated upon the throne was the Silent King. Holding the Scepter of Eternal Glory, his gaze locked onto Zeke.

His two Phaerons stood on either side of him.

The End is truly bustling today. Zeke looked at the three metallic figures, a thought flashing through his mind.

Zeke currently had an opportunity—an opportunity to annihilate the Silent King and the two Phaerons in one fell swoop.

There was only one exit from The End, and that was through the Return Portal that appeared after the Ender Dragon’s death.

And the Return Portal could be closed. As long as he placed an End Crystal on each of the four sides of the Return Portal, the Ender Dragon would respawn, and the Return Portal would close accordingly.

Zeke could jump through and return during the brief window right before it closed, leaving the Silent King trapped here forever.

One must remember that only players could deal damage to the Ender Dragon. It would be impossible for the Silent King to kill the Ender Dragon, let alone reopen the Return Portal.

It truly was a vicious thought. The Silent King would be eternally exiled in this silent place, unable to die, unable to live.

The Silent King spotted Zeke instantly and steered his throne to fly over. The Phaeron beside him spoke up.

"Where is the Stormlord?"

"Dead," Zeke answered crisply.

Dead. As soon as these words were spoken, both the Silent King and the Phaerons were shocked.

After a long time, someone spoke. This time it wasn’t a Phaeron, but the Silent King. The Silent King spoke personally.

"Let us cast aside those pointless probes and contests. The Stormlord’s fate has already proven that you are not an existence that can be easily controlled."

"I am the Silent King, Supreme Sovereign of the Necrons. The one standing before you today merely wishes to personally seek an answer."

The Silent King stood up, his chassis appearing even more towering than when seated.

"Tell me, Zeke. Is the hope you bring a true dawn, or just another deception?"
