Chapter 205: Author

Kamille took a deep breath and nodded as he kissed Rise’s hand. It seemed he had been so worried for the past couple of days.

He did not speak or ask. Rise; let Kamille savor the moment. It took a few moments before Kamille finally calmed down. Rise patted the side next to him, and Kamille quickly sat on it, holding him closer.

Nestled in Kamille’s embrace, he started the conversation.

"Kamille, I know that you... died. And is resurrected. Can you tell me what happened? Why are you suddenly exhibiting mana unique to a noble?"

Rise actually had a lot of questions, but these were his primary ones.

Kamille did not immediately answer him but asked something else instead.

"Why don’t you eat first? We’ll talk after you eat."

It had been two days since Rise last ate, and with his injury, though already healed, further recovery was needed.

Rise then realized that he had only awakened, and thinking about it, he agreed. He also noticed that his clothes were different; Kamille might have cleaned him and changed his clothes.

Still, he planned to wash up first. When Kamille returned with the food, Rise had already finished showering. There were still droplets trickling down from his hair.

Kamille put down the tray of food and went to his side. Without a word, he used his ability to instantly dry Rise’s hair. His fingers stroked the strands and played with them.

Rise leaned against him, enjoying the touch.

"Have you eaten?" Rise gently whispered. "If not, we can share."

Honestly, he was not that hungry. However, it was true that he had not eaten anything after he became unconscious. So, he obediently agreed with Kamille’s suggestion not to make him worry.

"I already ate."

Rise smiled as he wrapped his hands around Kamille’s waist, pulling him closer. He tiptoed and planted a kiss on Kamille’s chin.

"Still, we can share." His tone was coy and sweet, something Kamille would not be able to resist.

Sure enough, Kamille stared at Rise’s eyes and sighed. He leaned closer and kissed the space between Rise’s brows.

"Okay." He only said one word, and yet it contained a heavy dose of doting in it.

Rise’s smile widened. All his worries dropped at that moment. He felt like he could accomplish everything as long as Kamille was with him.

The two went to the table to eat. Breakfast in bed was lovely, but it was inconvenient. Rise was a heavy eater, and he never refused any food, but he was not really hungry.

Yet, when the food was already before him, he felt it was a waste not to eat.

"Let’s eat, Guild Leader,"

Occasionally, the title would slip out, and Rise had no intention of correcting it either. It was already a habit engraved in his soul.

Kamille was his Guild Leader, and that never changed.

They shared the food while they maintained silence. Of course, Rise would not miss a perfect opportunity to feed Kamille from his spoon.

In response to that, Kamille did the same. Rise initially had no appetite, but he ate more than expected.

Overall, it was such a sweet meal.

"Now, tell me..."

After eating, Rise’s curiosity could not be contained anymore. Kamille did not make him wait either and explained what happened to him.

"You’re telling me... You’re a noble?" Rise was merely surprised; his tone was actually calm.

Thinking back, it actually made sense. Kamille always had inhuman strength. Remember when Rise called Kamille a calamity? It was because three years from now, he would cause the biggest zone disaster in humanity.

However, it was done by the extreme Kamille. Rise was the only one who knew it besides Kamille, of course.

His hellfire was like an epidemic as it spread and destroyed everything it passed by, disregarding whether it was monsters or humans.

That was not an ordinary S-rank esper ability.

Kamille nodded, holding Rise in his arms. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"I’ve always been a noble, but I sealed that information deep inside me. I’m not sure about my birth or where exactly I came from."

Kamille had no clue how or why he was in the human world. When he awakened his noble bloodline at 13 years old, he did not have any memories of his birth.

The power also scared him. His humanity was far stronger at just being awakened; Kana’s words also influenced him, and Kamille decided to seal whatever it was that awakened inside him.

That was how the split personality started. Kamille also suppressed the memories of that night.

"You’ve already merged with your extreme side?" Rise asked, staring at Kamille’s crimson pupils.

"Yes. I’m already complete."

Rise paused, then narrowed his eyes.

"Did that mean... something changed?"

The extreme side was truly a bit different from Kamille’s usual personality. Now that they had merged, did that mean Kamille had become wilder?

Thinking so, Rise became somewhat excited inside.

Kamille thought he was worried about his attitude changing, but he did not lie.

"There are some changes. But, not my feelings for you."

It was actually stronger.

Rise, who had been thinking about freaky things, could not help but grin. He loved hearing confirmation about Kamille’s feelings about him.

He did not doubt that part either. Even if Kamille changed or his noble personality became dominant, Rise never thought their relationship would change much.

Kamille’s attitude towards humans or nobles, Rise did not care about that.

Still, he showed Kamille his thoughts, and not through his words.

Rise leaned in and claimed Kamille’s lips. Their eyes did not immediately close as their gazes met. He smiled through the kiss, and his eyes crinkled.

’I trust you. And I love you.’

Kamille’s arms wrapped tightly and pulled Rise towards him, deepening the kiss. Their eyes then closed, and they shared a devoted and passionate kiss with each other.

No matter the changes, as long as their love remained strong, they could adapt just fine.

While Rise and Kamille were assuring each other through a heated kiss, someone was suffering.

"Why?"

Why? Why?

Murmurs began; the darkness made it eerie. The only light came from a dimmed screen.

Someone was huddled in the corner. Her eyes were darting around, and her whole body was trembling.

"He’s not dead." She began to chew on her nails to the point that they bled.

She did not even notice or care about the pain. She was only looking at the screen, her frightened pupils shaking.

"It should be reset now. But, the pages only stop here."

The woman paused, and then he hiccuped due to fear. She shouted and suddenly threw the laptop. It did not stop there; she took a heavy object and began to break the laptop.

Of course, she knew it was pointless.

She let out a terrified scream again and sobbed in the corner. The laptop, which should have been broken by now, was still open, not a slight dent or scratch.

"Demons. Ahhh! Why me?" She sobbed, and then, after calming down, she glared at the screen with hatred. "I’ll destroy you. Kamille and Rise! I’ll kill you! Everything! I’ll destroy everything!"

Only then would she be free from this horror. These demon characters must die!

Somewhere in a special space, a woman opened her eyes. She was sitting on a majestic throne; her whole demeanor exuded elegance and power.

Slowly, her eyes gleamed with hatred.

The author’s will descended!
