Chapter 1264: Guangyuan Hall

Fang Chen's heart stirred slightly. If that really is Yang Corrosion Flame, then Fang Tianzun's cultivation will rise another notch. He might even reach the Tribulation Realm!

This was a good thing. These avatars might seem like separate entities, but they were in truth all part of his Dao.

At present, though he was in the Fusion Realm, he had fused ten Daos into himself. Among them, Fang Tianzun and Fang Xuanyang were both in the Dao Union Realm, which made Fang Chen's strength rather peculiar.

By cultivation alone, he was in the Fusion Realm. However, in terms of actual abilities, he could suppress even a Dao Union Realm cultivator—without using the Eight Desolation Supreme Sword Scripture, at that.

Fang Chen stepped into the shop and casually picked up a few Immortal Origin Stones to inquire. "Shopkeeper, how are these Immortal Origin Stones priced?"

"These are new arrivals and haven't been graded yet. They're not for sale at the moment," replied the shopkeeper coolly. "You can have your picks from these graded ones instead, Fellow Daoist."

The man could tell a new face from a regular customer easily. To him, Fang Chen was just a curious bystander.

Fang Chen smiled. "What, don't want to earn some money?"

The shopkeeper couldn't help but chuckle. "If you've set your eyes on a particular Immortal Origin Stone, name a price. If it's suitable, I can sell it to you without grading. But if I agree to your offer and you then back out, don't blame me for being rude."

Fang Chen casually pointed to a piece. "This. I'll pay a mid-grade spirit stone. Will you sell it?"

The shopkeeper glanced at it, then picked it up to examine for a few breaths before nodding. "Sold."

Fang Chen handed over the stone, took the Immortal Origin Stone, and the transaction was done, without a single wasted word.

Seeing this, the shopkeeper's attitude shifted immediately, a touch more warmth in his manner. He clasped his hands and said, "Please don't take offense, Fellow Daoist. In our trade, we often meet cultivators who only come to look around, asking many questions, examining for a long time, yet never buying. Seeing you were unfamiliar, I assumed you were one of those."

Pausing, he probed, "You haven't been active on this street before, have you?"

Qingyuan Market had countless such streets. This one, being near Cang Mountain, mainly catered to cultivators from low-tier spiritual mountains similar in rank to Cang Mountain.

A group of cultivators had just walked in when the shopkeeper said that. One of them said, "Shopkeeper Feng, it's normal you haven't seen him. He's an Elder of the Cangyun Sect."

Fang Chen found the leader somewhat familiar—one of the better-known rogue cultivators from Cang Mountain.

"Cangyun Sect? Ah, that explains it," said Shopkeeper Feng.

Shopkeeper Feng immediately recalled the recent rumors. As a shopkeeper with some backing, how could he not know that a new sect had risen on Cang Mountain? It was said that they had a Dao Union Realm expert holding the fort.

Shopkeeper Feng clasped his hands with a smile. "So you are from the Cangyun Sect, Fellow Daoist. Forgive my earlier offense."

The cultivator who had revealed Fang Chen's origin also clasped his fist. "How should I address you, Fellow Daoist? I am Wei Chen of Cang Mountain."

"Fang Wanli," Fang Chen replied, returning the gesture.

Wei Chen glanced at the Immortal Origin Stones and asked curiously, "So you're interested in Immortal Origin Stones as well, Fellow Daoist Fang? We can exchange some insights later."

"I've dabbled before," Fang Chen said with a smile. "Today I'm just leading some disciples down the mountain for the grand gathering. I happened to pass by and thought I'd try my luck."

Shopkeeper Feng felt a slight pang of disappointment. So it was just a casual purchase....

Though, he found Fang Chen's manner generous, offering a mid-grade spirit stone outright.

With a few more deals like this, he'd make a decent profit today.

Wei Chen, seeing that Fang Chen didn't seem especially versed in this trade, chatted briefly before leading his companions to examine the store's stock.

Fang Chen didn't disturb them. He casually picked out a few more Immortal Origin Stones, offering the same price each time. Shopkeeper Feng agreed without hesitation, and they concluded the transactions smoothly and uneventfully.

Among them was the Immortal Origin Stone suspected to contain Yang Corrosion Flame.

Spending only a few mid-grade spirit stones to obtain such a treasure, Fang Chen left the shop quite satisfied.

Coincidentally, Xu Gaohu emerged from a magic treasure store nearby, grinning from ear to ear.

"Today's luck is great! My top-grade, yellow-rank treasure was damaged after several fights. A repair would've set me back five hundred low-grade spirit stones. But the shop's running a promotion—ten percent off! So I saved fifty stones!" Xu Gaohu said happily.

"Congratulations, Fellow Daoist Xu," Fang Chen replied with a clasped hand and a smile. After a pause, he asked, "Do you know if there's a shop here that specializes in selling spiritual herbs? Preferably a large one with a complete range."

Xu Gaohu thought for a moment, then probed, "There are indeed many herb shops here, but what grade of herbs are you seeking exactly?"

Fang Chen recalled that the recipe for Fang Xuanyang's cultivation of the Four Stage Profound Yang Body required several herbs of not particularly high grade, merely auxiliary ones. He decided to check if he could buy those around.

"A shop that sells Earth-Rank herbs will suffice," Fang Chen said.

"Earth-Rank herbs?" Xu Gaohu's eyes narrowed slightly.

Such things were usually far beyond his reach. As a Nascent Soul Realm cultivator, he only occasionally dealt with profound-rank herbs.

He guessed that the Cangyun Sect's Dao Union Realm elder must have asked Elder Fang to inquire about these herbs for him.

With that in mind, Xu Gaohu thought carefully before finally saying, "Shops that sell Earth-Rank herbs are all near the core district. You won't find them around here. But if you're talking about the most famous herb shop in Qingyuan Market, it has to be the Guangyuan Hall.

"Guangyuan Hall has over two hundred branches within Qingyuan Market alone, and even more outside. Its owner is Senior Xu Guangyuan of Cuntai Mountain, a Loose Immortal."

"Guangyuan Hall?"

Fang Chen nodded, planning to inform Fang Zhixue and the others before going alone to check it out. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

Just then, a quarrel broke out nearby. Xu Gaohu was slightly taken aback and quickly looked toward the noise.

Several of the voices were familiar, clearly disciples from his own sect.

Fang Chen also turned to look, spotting Xu Gaohu's Golden Core Realm disciple locked in a heated argument with three Foundation Building Realm cultivators.

"Fang Daoist, apologies for the scene," Xu Gaohu said with a forced smile.

"Those arguing with your disciples look like cultivators from Cang Mountain as well," Fang Chen remarked.

Xu Gaohu nodded, his expression darkening as he glanced at them. "They're from the Duan Family of Cang Mountain."

The Duan Family had a Dao Union ancestor. He had once personally gone to the Cangyun Sect, only to be beaten back by Zhao Jiaolong in disgrace.

Xu Gaohu had no intention of interfering. Going over would only invite trouble. A bit of quarreling wasn't worth the trouble.

But... after listening for a while, he realized something was wrong. The argument seemed to involve the Cangyun Sect.

Looking more closely, he saw that Fang Zhixue and others were in the crowd, just previously hidden from view.

Fang Zhixue and Langya Wenqiu's expressions were both dark.
