Immortal In A Death Game-Chapter 150: The Difference in Brutality
"Kill it, Schizo! Fucking kill it!"
Derek wrapped his arms around the monster’s neck and pulled backward, trying to choke it. The monster bucked and thrashed, and Derek was clearly just annoying it more than anything, but he held on.
Adam gritted his teeth against the agony. Due to the creature’s sudden thrashing, half his torso was now mangled, his ribs jutting through torn flesh—his lungs and heart were even exposed.
But pain was good. Pain meant he was still conscious. He gazed down, and when he saw his body was already knitting itself back together, he decided to move.
He grabbed the creature’s head with both hands, trying to keep it still. He only ended up being swayed along with Derek, however. Adam glanced around, and with a small groan, he deliberately pushed his left arm into the creature’s beak.
"Kh!" He gritted his teeth from the pain, and as he pulled out his arm, his hand was gone—only the bone was left.
Derek gasped at this, his eyes wide as he stared at Adam. Adam, however, only glared at the creature’s eye—and as soon as the flesh in his hand started to squirm... he drove the sharp fractured bone of his arm into the monster’s eye, pushing until ulna and radius burst through its other eye.
And as Adam pulled his arm free, the monster finally dropped. Derek almost lost his balance, but he was able to leap in time.
Still, he slightly stumbled since he was still solely focused on Adam’s hand... which was now whole again. He was about to open his mouth to speak, but the creature’s corpse suddenly twitched, causing the both of them to back away.
But that was all it was, however, a final death throe.
Derek sighed and just nodded to Adam.
The crowd, who were running for their lives just earlier, watched in stunned silence. They’d seen Heroes fight on television. This was different. Were... the fights really always this bloody?
"Thanks," Adam said, wiping blood from his face.
Derek shook his head. "Man, what do you mean? You didn’t need me at all, that was all you."
"No." Adam’s voice was firm. "Really, thank you."
"Well, if you’re really thankful, then—"
Once again, Derek was interrupted as more shrieks echoed from the Leak. This time, however, Adam rushed at the Leak before the monster’s entire body could fully emerge.

Hm... Three on Strength.
Adam felt a sharp tingle run through his entire body, but he completely ignored it as he grabbed the monster’s beak and slammed it down to the ground. With the monster’s body still not fully emerged from the portal, it wasn’t able to squirm properly at all.
"...Sorry about this." Adam only stared at the creature’s eye for a moment before plunging his entire arm through its eye. And with it dead, Adam pulled it out of the Leak and threw it, almost landing right at Derek’s feet.
And then, without even turning around... Adam just stood there, directly right in front of the crimson portal.
He... he wasn’t going to let a single monster get past him to threaten any more civilians.
But the second one came flying in, causing Adam to wheeze as his chest caved in. But still, he hugged the creature’s head and slammed it down before it could fully emerge—he was about to pierce its eye again with his arm, but Derek suddenly came with a rebar and stabbed it in the eye.
Adam glanced at him and only nodded and watched as Derek pulled the monster out, dragging it to where it wouldn’t impede in the battle.
And soon, another came out—and it was the same scenario. The crowd, who were fearing for their lives, now watched with eyes wide. Each monster fell within moments of emerging.
Adam wasn’t even giving the monsters a chance to fight back at all. It... almost seemed unfair. Of course, they didn’t pity the monsters at all. But still, it looked unfair. And whenever there were monsters that were able to pass by him, Derek supported him however he could—throwing debris, creating distractions, watching his back.
So... they all thought, this was how fights usually go.
The civilians gasped, and some of them even sat down now as they just watched in awe. Somehow, they knew they were safe.
They watched as the carcasses piled up bit by bit, creating a mound next to the debris. And very soon, no monsters emerged from the Leak.
They waited for a couple more seconds, and when they were sure, they erupted in cheers. Some of them were about to approach, but Adam ignored all of them and started walking toward the Leak.
His clothes were hanging in tatters again. Perhaps... he really should invest more in Perception and Agility soon.
If he went at it fighting like this the entire time, it was only a matter of when—when he was going to run out of money. And while Adam was lost in his own thoughts, Derek and the crowd were wondering what he was up to.
But then, without even a single word... Adam casually stepped into the Leak.
"What the..." Derek muttered, his breath almost pausing completely in disbelief. The crowd went silent, too—not knowing what just happened.
"Did he just... Adam!" Derek rushed to follow Adam, but then a monster shot out of the portal.
"Shit!" Derek quickly moved to the side and was about to scream at the crowd to run away... but then the monster just plummeted to the ground, blood already oozing from its eyes. It was dead already.
"Jesus..." Derek whispered. He turned to the portal again, hesitating to enter now. But, with a deep breath, he shook his head and followed Adam.
The crowd was confused, not knowing what to do now. But not even a minute later, Derek suddenly stumbled back out, fell to his knees... and vomited violently.
"W-what..." He gasped between heaves. "That... what the fuck. What the fuck!"
There and then, Derek learned just how brutally violent and reckless Adam could be when no one was watching. And there and then, he knew...
...he was only going to get in the way.
