Immortal God of War-Chapter 673 - 642 Gentle Emperor_1
The appearance of the shadow was as fleeting as a night-blooming cereus, quickly vanishing without a trace.
「The Imperial Dining Room!」
At that moment, all the Imperial Chefs and palace maids stood outside the door, staring with shock and doubt at the mother and son bustling inside.
What was going on today? 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
The always lofty Empress and the Prince, the Emperor’s most beloved son, had actually come to cook themselves?
Moreover, the two masters had always had their clothes laid out and their food served to them; how could they possibly cook delicious food?
But the outcome astonished them greatly. Before long, a mouth-watering aroma of rice drifted out from the Imperial Dining Room.
"Th-th-this, it’s impossible!"
All the Imperial Chefs were left flabbergasted.
When did the Empress and the Prince learn how to cook? Why had no one ever mentioned it?
In fact, it was Qin Feiyang who was cooking.
When he was in the Imperial Capital, he indeed did not know how to cook. But after he ended up in Iron Bull Town, in order to survive, he had no choice but to learn these most basic life skills.
The Empress, however, was completely clueless about cooking. She initially thought that cooking was very simple, and so had offered to cook for Qin Feiyang personally. But the moment she entered the kitchen, she immediately realized her thinking had been somewhat naive. This was because, as she looked at the pots, bowls, and ladles before her, she was completely clueless about where to start or what to do.
Seeing the embarrassed expression on his mother’s face, Qin Feiyang couldn’t help but chuckle.
In the end, the Empress had to compromise and act as Qin Feiyang’s assistant.
Even though the kitchen was filled with the smell of cooking fumes, Qin Feiyang rather enjoyed the feeling. If sweat beaded on his mother’s forehead, he would immediately wipe it away for her.
Gradually, the Empress began to notice that this child of hers seemed somewhat different than before. He was more considerate and mature than before.
In fact, she felt that in front of Qin Feiyang, she was the one who seemed like a child being cared for.
However, she quite liked the current Qin Feiyang, who was very serious when he focused on something, making him seem very dependable.
Out of curiosity, the Empress asked, "Tian Er, did you also learn these things in your dream?"
Qin Feiyang was stirring a large wok at that moment. "Yes," he replied with a laugh. "I learned many things in my dream, and when I woke up, I had already broken through to become a one-star War Ancestor."
The Empress smiled. "It seems you had a very long dream during these three days."
"Yes." Qin Feiyang nodded. "In the dream, more than ten years passed. I remember every single detail clearly. So, when I woke up, I couldn’t tell what was dream and what was reality," he finished, shaking his head with a smile.
The Empress had a moment of realization. "No wonder you asked so many inexplicable questions in the side hall earlier."
Qin Feiyang smiled and held out his hand. "Mother, a plate, please."
The Empress picked up a jade plate that had been prepared beforehand and handed it to him.
Qin Feiyang took the jade plate, swiftly dished the food from the wok onto it, then turned off the heat, walked to the dining table, and set the plate down.
There were five dishes, one soup, and two bowls of rice on the table. Though not perfectly presented in terms of color and aroma, they were certainly appetizing enough.
Qin Feiyang swallowed, then turned to his mother with a grin. "All done! My gentle and kind mother, please enjoy."
"Alright, alright." The Empress nodded, her face beaming as she walked to the dining table. She picked up her jade chopsticks, placed a piece of vegetable into her mouth, and praised, "Not bad at all, Tian Er."
Such praise made Qin Feiyang a little bashful. He scratched his head and said, "If Mother enjoys it, I’ll cook for you every day from now on."
The Empress smiled. "It seems I’m in for a treat from now on."
"Is it that delicious? Let me taste it."
But just then, a resonant voice spoke up.
Immediately after, a golden figure materialized out of thin air before the dining table.
At that moment, Qin Feiyang’s gaze flickered.
The newcomer was a middle-aged man. He wore a Red Gold Dragon Crown and a golden Dragon Robe. His gaze was sharp as a sword, and he exuded an astonishing imperial aura!
Without a doubt, this was none other than the current Ultimate ruler of the Great Qin Empire!
"Greetings, Your Imperial Majesty!"
Upon the Emperor’s arrival, all the palace maids, guards, and Imperial Chefs outside knelt and kowtowed.
"Greetings, Your Majesty." The Empress also rose and curtsied.
The Emperor laughed. "We are all family here; there’s no need for such formality."
Then, the Emperor looked at the crowd outside and said, "All of you may rise as well!"
"Yes, Your Majesty." Everyone quickly rose, standing respectfully by the door, not daring to breathe too loudly.
The Empress asked, puzzled, "Weren’t you attending to state affairs? What brings you here so suddenly?"
"My precious son has awakened, of course I had to come and see him," the Emperor said, gazing dotingly at Qin Feiyang. But then he noticed Qin Feiyang looking back at him, a flicker of what seemed like fear in his eyes.
"Tian Er, what’s wrong?" the Emperor teased. "Could it be that a few days in a coma made you forget your own father?"
The Empress also looked at Qin Feiyang curiously.
Qin Feiyang jolted back to his senses, bowed, and said, "Greetings, Father Emperor."
That calamity had only been a dream. The father before him was still his loving father. It was all in the past; there was no need to dwell on it.
The Emperor paused, then playfully smacked Qin Feiyang’s head. "You rascal," he chided, "why so formal all of a sudden? That’s not like you."
Qin Feiyang gave an embarrassed laugh. "Well, people grow up, don’t they?"
"Oh?" The Emperor, surprised, asked with a peculiar expression, "So, you’re saying you’ve grown up now?"
"I’m just a little more mature than before."
